Abysmal support

Abysmal technical support and a total lack of accountability. The company I work for have a .SE domain that has been stuck in a 'Registry mismatch' for over 8 days. Their internal portal history shows a 'Trade' as 'Completed' with a specific timestamp, yet the official Registry confirms no data was ever transmitted. Support is non-existent—no human response on chat or tickets, only automated loops. They are providing false status updates while my services are disrupted. If you value your business-critical domains, avoid Europe Registry and their parent company Key-Systems at all costs.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM EUROPE…

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM EUROPE REGISTRY!!!

Loyalty gets you nowhere: We held over 15 domains with them for many, many years and kept paying their annual increases, thinking that must be the norm... However, their prices continued to skyrocket year after year, prompting us to double-check what other registrars were charging for the same domains (90% less).

Here is the secret to their scam:
Once you notice how unreasonable the prices are on your domain auto-renewals, and you try to move the domain to another registrar, Europe Registry does not respond to your emails or chats. Weeks pass, and the auto-renewal date arrives, triggering a charge to your card on file. Not even our intended new registrar, GoDaddy, could help from their side because they need Europe Registry to provide a Transfer Authorization Code, which is not something you can get yourself or request on your Admin dashboard at Europe Registry.

To date, we have sent 12 emails and two Chats to Europe Registry over the past several weeks and have not received any human response beyond auto-replies stating they will get back to us. Never happens.

In summary, Europe Registry raises renewal prices significantly, does not provide an easy way to obtain transfer codes, and then stops responding when customers try to leave. Proceed with caution.

Avoid them!!!

They never reply to emails. The chat is useless for the same reason — if you need to talk to a real person, not a dumb AI. There are no phone numbers to call them. I want to move my domains away from them, but they’ve blocked the transfers! This is just unbelievable.

The worst registrar EVER!

They used to be a reliable registrar, but after over 10 years I'm working with them, I have no choice but to start moving all my domains away from EUROPE REGISTRY (also known as INSTRA). Support is practically nonexistent, ignoring emails! No more personal account manager, and tickets take weeks to resolve despite repeated calls, chats, and email reminders. Avoid at all costs!!!

Customer service depends on which staff you get.

Customer service is available only on weekdays. Volodymir is always very quick and helpful, but Shiva Prasad is not very helpful. Often, I asked my question, and he responded "how may I help you today?" and then disappeared for 30 or more minutes.

The worst registrar to exist

They hold you hostage for the most basic things. I wanted my transfer code, which any other registrar lets you do self-service on the registrar's website.

This is a manual process with these guys and comes with a $175 fee. That's right, they charge you to leave them.

To add insult to injury, it takes days of emails going back and forth between each other before you get your code. Including chasing them up when you pay your ransom and they don't provide the code.

Avoid them like the plague.

Helpful customer support.

Today I contacted customer support and spoke with Jake who listened patiently and suggested how I should proceed to resolve my issue. The domain name I have with Europe Registry is linked to another domain name that is not with them. The latter was improperly taken from me and put on sale. So when the ER domain is accessed, it links to the other domain and appears as "FOR SALE". Jake gave me the name and telephone number of the other other site and suggested contacting them to get it back.
I have been using Europe Registry for some years now and I have had no issues with them. Two months before the automatic annual renewal I receive an email informing me that renewal is up in two months so that I have plenty of time to decide to continue or to cancel.

Domain Name Stolen From Under Their Noses

I've used Europe Registry for years for our EU domain names and, whilst expensive, haven't really had any problems.
Until a few months ago. One of our domain names was quietly stolen from right under their noses. They didn't notice that an unauthorised domain transfer had been requested, nor did they even notify me, and just released the domain name. They, themselves, didn't even notice as they then tried to bill me several months later for the renewal and were surprised to find they weren't the registrar any more.
I raised the issue straight away, as my website is now down and continues to be to this day, but they are absolutely uninterested in investigating this, or doing anything pro-active to retrieve my domain name.
They ignore my emails, or fob me off saying their "legal team are looking into it" and then I hear nothing back from them.
I'm now going to transfer all my other domain names away from Europe Registry as I just can't trust them to keep them secure.

Bad Support

I wanted to transfer the domains I receive agency service from to another registrar. But they are so slow and demanding, it is unbelievable. In other words, they do not provide domain auth code. They need to update the address. I say let's do what is necessary. They only respond the next day. At this rate, it will take them over a year to solve the problem. Also, the renewal fees are high. It is a shame. I am having a huge problem. You should be careful. There are many other good companies. I think you should research the options well and work with a good company.

Bad website interface wasted hours and…

Bad website interface wasted hours and caused a whole day of downtime.

I had to add DNSSEC to all our domains urgently in response to a serious incident involving DNS poisoning on one of our nameservers. Updating our domains on other registrars took only a few minutes and started propagating immediately. However, Europe Registry does not offer an interface for DNSSEC, so I had to contact support. Chat support responded rapidly (to their credit) but said we had to contact by email so someone else could pick it up. They then instructed to send the settings by email and someone would update them at some point. Soon after, they said the update had been made. But DNS wasn't propagating. They said to wait 48 hours before contacting them again.

After about 8 hours, progress was slow we were convinced something must be wrong. We suspected something had gone wrong in the manual intervention, like maybe they hadn't copied the text from the email correctly. At this point, chat support was completely unhelpful, sticking to the script that we had to wait 48 hours and refusing to disclose any additional information or others we could contact.

So why 2 stars instead of one? In desperation I searched through the DNS records, found out the actual supplier, Instra, and called their support line. I got through to Jake, who jumped straight into troubleshooting and investigating, and was extremely helpful and knowledgable.

Up to this point my team were focused on mistakes in the DNSSEC. Because it took so long to find out exactly what had been entered manually, we overlooked a much more obvious mistake: a typo in the nameservers themselves. The site was down over 24 hours while we waited for it to propagate, not realising that the issue was with the nameserver list, not the DNSSEC.

Ultimately, the typo was our fault, but had the interface simply allowed us to enter the DNSSEC directly, we could have quickly ruled it out as the issue, checked the other data, fixed and had it sorted within 10 minutes.

So one star for the unhelpful interface. One star to chat support for sticking to their script instead of recognising the need to escalate to second line. Five stars to Jake and the phone support team, who were outstanding; maybe the best phone support team I've ever called. But really, I shouldn't have had to speak to them at all.

Hi David,
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about the delay with the update of DNSSEC.
We appreciate your comments about our interface and the ability to apply DNSSEC directly. Our team are working on improvements to our online portal, and we aim to offer a more automated experience when adding DNSSEC in the near future.
Its great to hear Jake was able to troubleshoot and help to get the right settings applied, so thanks for the five stars to Jake. We have passed on your feedback directly to him.
If you need any further help, please let us know.

Be Warned Stay Clear as this company…

Be Warned Stay Clear as this company operate as criminals, they are scam artists and I wish I could report there business practices somewhere but unfortunately I don't think this is a regulated area. Here's what happens. You come up with a good domain and its available for only $10 so you buy it and you're trying to start a business so cost matters but come next year they increase the price to €120 and remember I'm trying to start a business and would never of bought a domain at that price. Its criminal and would not be aloud in Norway.

Good Support

There were problems with the domain, there was a defense of the last owner, as a result of 3 weeks, the search for the problem, support of EuropeRegistry helped with the problem, although this was not their fault, suggested where to turn to the problem. I have been using this service for about 5 years, everything is satisfied. Thanks a lot.
