Been around 6-7 months and still…

Been around 6-7 months and still nothing sorted on a hidden cost we was never obviously told about. My partner changed her car and her PCP to HP. When she brought the new car home after a 2 weeks letters came though saying she owes money to the lender on her old car. So I checked with the dealer at evens halshaw Wakefield. They said they couldn't find any record of this as they have paid the amount off for us. Basically ignore the letter. Got another one though a few weeks later. So I we went back to the dealership to sort this the management wasn't in that day 🙄 of course!!!! So after months of hassle I finally got a break though from one of the management team. We have found the file and will pay this out of a good will gesture...... brilliant but still waiting 8 weeks after for this settlement to be sorted. The last letter has come from Santander and are even charging us solicitor's fees on top. Can't believe the emotional stress they have caused my partner lieing to us about a good will. I change my car every 6 to 10 months i definitely know I won't be going here nor my family members either discrace full company...even the one star is too good for these

amateurs at best.

Everything from buying my new motor (I could write a book about that fiasco ) to having it serviced has been one big headache. I don’t think I’ve ever once phoned Ford Wolverhampton Evens Halshaw (I’ve made quiet a lot of calls especially when I was buying my new motor) and been directed straight through to someone with out having to wait in a queue only to either be cut off or finally (after a long wait) speaking to someone and then being told they will get back to me (which has never ever happened). How on earth they are still in business is a total mystery to me. Stay away I regret the day I ever heard of this company, it grieves me I can’t score them lower than 1 star.

Customer service was terrible

Customer service was good until I’d paid for the car in full then trying to speak to anyone was a nightmare. It seemed that they wasn’t interested once they had received the money. I bought a 14 reg Ford Kuga. The car came to us absolutely filthy inside & out despite being told it would be fully valeted before delivery. It also arrived 5 hours late. One of the windows wouldn’t open, but couldn’t get hold of anyone for answers so just dealt with it myself. I even emailed the manager but still no response. Also the V5 didn’t arrive with the car so taxing it was a nightmare. I will never buy from them again.

Regarding my car service. They did call don't really know why. In the conversation with The Service Manager mind. He said quote we don't take the wheels off as you only had a Motorcraft service. Well on ford web site it states check brakes Wheels Off. Was going to pop a screen shot on back can't put it on

Yet still they haven’t had the decency to get back to me. Well you have lost me, and will tell people to stay well clear of you

Very poor after sales

Have to say very disappointed with the after sale at Evans Halshaw Renault dealerships
Anthony Pears
MMC Specialist
Evans Halshaw Renault
TS1 5JP.

Done the deal with them was told everything was ok with car but when it was delivered and I got it home and had it washed it had deep scratches on the roof and was told it had been valeted but found sweets stuck done the seat etc.
For a dealer like Evans Halshaw I didn’t expect to have scratches in the roof which I have got to pay to get right. Worse thing was the salesman email me and ask to give him 5 stars which I find which I emailed him back and told him the reason why and guess what no call or email and this was over a 2 weeks ago. So I would be very careful of this dealership

If there was a 0 star option, that would still be too much

If there was a 0 star option, that would still be too much!

I'll start at the beginning...

We visited the Evans Halshaw local to us to look at the cars one evening. After finding a lovely VW Golf, for a reasonable price, we rang the Evans Halshaw head office to organise a test drive.

The test drive was booked in for a Wednesday evening. We turned up at the show room at our scheduled time (for which I had an email confirmation), however, none of the staff members seemed to know anything about it. We were told we were "lucky" Duncan was still in work and available to assist us on the test drive.

After this, we went away to think about the car and decided we wanted to accept the offer. I rang the Evans Halshaw head office to double check it was MOT'd and taxed (so we could budget for when this would need doing). I then scheduled buying the Golf and picking it up, putting down a £200 deposit. This was organised for the Friday.

When we turned up on the Friday, however, the branch were under the impression that we'd booked in for another test drive and had no knowledge of us wanting to buy the car - safe to say we were very disappointed! However, we filled out all the paperwork and were given bank details to transfer the money over. They asked us to come back on the Tuesday (there's no admin team in over the weekend) to pick up the car.

We paid the balance for the car, and bought insurance over the weekend, ready for the Tuesday. We then arrived at Evans Halshaw and finished filling in the paperwork - Hurray! However, Jenni suddenly asked us "how far have you travelled?", so we joked that we lived 5 minutes away but we got dropped off so it would be a 30 minute walk and so can't leave without the car - little did we know! Jenni said that when she went to tax the car, apparently there was no MOT so she was unable to complete the sale.

I informed her that I'd already spoken to head office and that the MOT was done on the 15th December last year...however, I'm not sure where head office got this information from as it's not on the government website. This also means we took a car with no MOT for a test drive...not sure that's legal?

According to the Government website:
"There is no automatic exemption from MoT testing for vehicles used under a trade licence. A vehicle used under a trade
licence is only exempt from the MoT testing requirement when driven during or on completion of repairs, or when driven
to and from a pre-booked MoT test."

Consequently, we had to walk home and were told to pick it up the following day. I asked for a reduction in the price due to our continued mistakes on their part and Jenni's response was "I can put some extra diesel in for you"....not what we expected!

We put in a formal complaint that night, explaining our full situation and the lady (I believe her name was Lucy) said she'd also expect a bit of money off the car - wahoo!

The following morning I received a phone call from the manager of the Leeds branch asking me to repeat the story as all he had written in front of him was "something about an MOT"...great..!

He said he would ring be back by 9:10am to confirm that the MOT would be completed that day, and what would be done as compensation. However by 5pm that evening I hadn't received a call. I phoned up to make sure the car was ready for us to pick up, and query that no-one had got back in touch regarding taking some money off. The lady on the phone said the car was ready (no apologies for not getting back to me though!), and that it was highly unlikely we'd get a reduction in price.

Regardless we turned up that night to pick up the car to be greeted by a sour-faced Tiff. However, everything was in order this time (thankfully!) and they'd put £20 of diesel in for us for our troubles (this wasn't even half a tank and definitely doesn't compensate us for the petrol and time we wasted travelling there twice before actually getting to pick the car up!). We said we still wanted a call in regard to their absolutely appalling service, however, over a week later and we still have not received this call...

I WOULD NOT buy a car from them ever again, and certainly wouldn't have bought this one, if I hadn't already transferred the funds and bought insurance.

If you buy from Evans Halshaw, do so knowing you'll be messed around, lied to, and probably won't actually get the car until long after it was promised.

As I have stated in the past about my £7000 car which would cost me double with the finance company they go by because they won’t use car finance 24/7 as I now know and understand why car finance 24/7 will tell you exactly what the car is worth and have it looked over before releasing funds 👍🏻Anyway the car wasn’t even ready guys waited a hour or more then the paint needed touched up which I really think they just tried to t-cut and buff out lol so as I was needing a car so bad for work I took it anyway and had problem after problem had it in 3 times same problem on the 3rd time asked for it to be seen by bmw told no as it was too expensive lwhich I was within my rights to do so they said it was the ecu unit and they knew a polish guy that would sort it which the AA said to check the fuse box they never did and the forth time it happened I was out of my warranty surprise surprise so had a mechanic look at it a auto mechanic look at it and it was the main cable behind the fuse box which over time had damaged the fuse box too so need both done 😡won’t ever go back cowboys spring to mind the guys seemed really nice to just the service manager cutting corners and I have proof of that we walked into his office on the forth time and heard him say he’s no paying for another persons car as it would cost too much 😂😂

After buying a range rover from the …

After buying a range rover from the Beverly branch, I found that the overall condition of the brakes were poor and with heavy corrosion.
After taking it to a Range Rover specialists who confirmed this... I was told that NO work would be carried out on my car by Evens Halshaw.
After sending an email too them i had a call from Simon Mennell
who listened to my case and said he would get back to me that day.
True to his word i received a call at 18.50 to say that he had sorted the work out and i should make an appointment to suit me.
The work has now been done and i am now enjoying my new car!

So i would like to say a THANK YOU to Simon Mennell of the Beverly Branch for sorting the problem out quickly and effectively !!

Many Thanks
Andrew Field

Offer you a price and then drop it by a large amount

I tried their car selling web page, they gave me an acceptable price, only to drop the offer by a very large amount because of a couple of minor scratches and because my last service stamp was not from a main dealer. I worked out in disgust, a complete waste of time. Sold the car on Autotrader to the first buyer within a week for about 20% more.
