I have nothing but praise for the patience, and quiet efficiency, with which Packways India, agents for Excess International Movers, packed professionally, and transported, by road to Mumbai, the above consignment from Betalbatim, Goa, (a Coastal State) to Mumbai, for shipment to the UK. Here, too, in the UK, when requested, delivery was prompt and cheerful.

I would also like to take this opportunity and say thank you to all admin staff with special thanks to Dwayne who was fantastic throughout the process, professional, always polite and very very very patient :).
Regarding Price for shipping: I spent approx 2 months searching for good deal and the company gave me this deal as some places were charging double of the amount for the same number of sat I was sending.
AND of course special MAAASSSIVVVEE THANKS to three gentlemen who came and collected my stuff to be shipped. I have now received my belongings and all safe and sound. I have to say brilliant team, not only knowing what they were doing but presented with fantastic customer service, people skills and what was really important they were really caring and made my experience of moving really easy and smooth. They really deserve a reward :)- how bout if the company pays for nice beach holiday for each one of them ;);)- they really deserve it. I have not came across such happy bunch of people for many years. WELL DONE - words really do not reflect my appreciation for their help.

International household move from Qatar to the UK

I would not hesitate to recommend Excess International to my family and friends. After having a bad experience with the local shipping agents in Qatar (Pack Me Movers) - where they delayed our shipment for over three months and also listed the incorrect delivery address, which resulted in additional unexpected charges billed to us - Excess International came in to save the situation. They worked with us every step of the way to resolve all issues, even though the errors were not from their side and it was above and beyond their remit. In particular we are grateful to Deborah Gilbert who kept in touch with us and walked us through step-by-step throughout the whole process, and Charlie Robinson who offered the highest level of customer service to resolve the situation.

Do not use this Company

I would not recommend this Company. They didn't have enough packing people on day 1 and 2 and so day 3 was completely rushed. A packer broke a glass candle holder, didn't own up and just packed the half which was not broken! On arrival in Uxbridge, Ontario, the container was 3 hours late arriving on the day, so the unpackers standing around doing nothing and consequently ran out of time at the end of the day, having only unpacked half my consignment. It has therefore taken some time to unpack the rest (we had to do it, even though we paid for them to) and in one of the last boxes a valuable item had been smashed as it had been packed with something very heavy and totally inappropriate. However, I just found out I can't claim as you only have 7 days to place a claim after delivery of your shipment, although this was not pointed out to me. With hindsight obviously one day unpacking is nowhere near enough bearing in mind it took 3 days to pack it all. Also the £1,500 insurance premium I paid was a complete waste of money. The floor had been damaged in one of the bedrooms but not declared, just hidden by the mover using a wax crayon!!!! I kid you no. My dining room table was also damaged. Customer service is non existent. With the benefit now of experience I feel I would be able to ask the right questions to enlist the right company to move me. Excess Movers did not guide me through the process, nor point out issues which could arise. Do not use them.

Ref 7029595 Deborah, even though I have not met this lady she has again shown efficiency, great follow up and I never felt at any point concerned with the shipment even though it was a little tricky with weather conditions ect. Again please forward to the relevant person at excess international that this lady is also an asset and communication between 2 companies is fantastic.

Rescued From a Disaster!

My relationship with Excess was indirect, as they were engaged to handle the trans-Atlantic shipping by the company I had paid for my relocation from Germany to Canada. However, when that company went bankrupt, I had to contact Excess directly to try and complete the shipment of my goods.

Shaneel from Excess was extremely polite, understanding, and professional, and helped with my ultimate goal of getting my goods into my Canadian apartment! Of course, they hadn't been paid by my bankrupt removals company, so once the financial aspects were taken care of, Shaneel engaged with the local Canadian movers and ensured that everything got expedited. Everything was in my apartment - amazingly with no damage to any of my things! - within just a few days.

Thanks to the drama of Pearson Removals' bankruptcy, this has been a trying experience, and I'm not sure when I'm going to relocate again. But if I do, I would definitely be engaging with Excess to do it!

Helpful and responsive

They helped us in a very delicate situation and were kind of flexible when it was needed.
Whatever we sent in our moving arrived but cannot say it arrived entirely
I unfortunately cannot said much more about my experience as I have no view on who did what and when it was done.

Well I can’t reply on the previous review. Seems like you still haven’t understood why I am so unhappy with you. You still haven’t realised it is because you have damaged the goods you were paid to ship. It is because you refuse to take responsibility for it, it is because your managing director Shaneel talks to me as if I was an idiot. It is because you have shown nothing but a complete lack of care.
The reason I want compensation is so I can pay to fixed what you damaged. Don’t try and make me look like the bad guy here.
We had a contract, I was to pay and would take care of my stuff, clearly you have not.
Let me also remind you your General Manager had approved a £600 compensation, but was then refused by Shanee.
If you forgot, I can show you again all of the exchanged we’ve had.

So again, I am trying to get free money, I want compensation to fix what you’ve damaged.
You also made me pay for insurance which just like you couldn’t care less...

Plus you make it sound like it is my job to seek money from companies like yours. I can assure you it is not.
But I do believe it is your job to ship people’s belongings, is it not? And if it is then, surely it should be responsibility to make sure it arrives in the same states it left. In my case it was not, and you don’t seem to give a damn about it.

Unacceptable. No accountability and look at legitimate complaints as "perceived issues"

I've used this company twice now. The first move, from UK to HK wasn't bad - there were a few damages but, with an international move, you have to expect that. The people I dealt with that time were great about answering all my questions and concern on a timely manner. Fast forward to 2 year later, I have the same stuff to ship, had a good experience so I went with them again. TERRIBLE! Their HK partners tried to charge me above what the quote was because they said there was a discrepancy on volume - remember: same inventory as last time (actually less because we didn't ship back patio furniture or big screen TV). When my stuff arrived, the HK movers had placed EMPTY boxes around and they'd literally thrown things randomly into boxes: shoes and kitchen wear, pillows and boots... some boxes had 1 thing, other were packed so tight that they split a few containers.
Once in London, come to find that my living room 1 seater sofas won't fit through my front door. One mover says: "sign here" (indemnifying them of any issues) "and I'll take the door off". The other mover says "oh no, last time we did that, we couldn't get the door back on properly". We decide it's best to call the company: no one could give me a straight answer - it was all very, "well, it's up to you but we can't guarantee we can get the door back on" Don't even give me the option (as the mover did) to do it if you aren't qualified to do it! No one could give me an alternative (sending the chairs back to storage - what would that cost?) and it took 3 calls to get those non-answers. I ended up having to beg the movers to drop the sofas off at a charity as I had no other options.
When i sent in an email to complain, I did get a call back almost immediately: the guy said he was so sorry and he'd look into it and get back to me (i don't remember his name) He never did. When I emailed back about a month later another guy called me - Shaneel Mehta. He basically didn't believe me, wouldn't own up to any of my complaints (even tho I have emails to and from his company) and offered me 50GBP for "any perceived (perceived!!!!!) issues to ensure the matter was settled privately and publicly" (I tried to copy/paste the email but this format won't let me).
Obviously, I declined.

Fantastic service from start to finish!

We used Excess International Movers and they were incredible!
Shirley was really there for us, a complete professional, as was Nick who handled the next stage of shipping. They both answered all our questions, and made sure all of our papers were in order. When in the process they saw something that did not look right on the papers they corrected it. We shipped from London to New York and Miami. We were able to track shipments and our boxes arrived within 5 days of shipping as promised. The entire experience was flawless. The price was very, very fair as well.
I would not hesitate to recommend them for shipping, and will use their service's again in the future. Thank you EIM for making our move much easier. We really appreciate the time and effort you put into helping us.

Cannot recommend them less

Cannot recommend them less. It is just about the worst option you have when moving items from the US to the UK. The staff is almost criminally incompetent. They missed my pick-up twice despite setting up a time well in advance and kept me waiting for hours and then pretended that the driver had actually attempted to pick up items. I then paid a fine to my building to keep items in the apartment (on which the lease had run out) while these goons came a third time to pick up items. They the refused to acknolwedge the errors and pretended my door bell was out of order! Same drama on delivery. Forgot to give me key forms to fill that allows items to move through customs. So my cargo had to sit in the HRMC warehouses for weeks while I was chasing these guys on delivery before one of them thought about informing me of the paperwork. AVOID. at all costs. its not worth the headache to save 100-200 dollars and then deal with this team.

PS: Forgot to mention, one of the boxes was extremely poorly handled and had items missing. Cannot stress enough to avoid this service. They shouldnt be in business.

The WORST service I have had in a long time

We had Excess International pack up and ship the contents of our 2 bedroom flat internationally and overall it was an unpleasant and stressful experience.

From the moment the 3 movers arrived, they were disorganised and in a rush to finish off for the day. They had no regard for our possessions and did not treat them with care. Plates and glasses were not individually wrapped and as a result, we had whole sets of crockery which were smashed when we unwrapped them on the other side.

A leg was broken off an antique piece of furniture, a chest of drawers completely wrecked, toiletries exploded from being too tightly packed and a cabinet was missing on arrival. A glass which was a wedding gift was broken during the pack up and our plasma TV was laid flat on the ground after being wrapped (which could cause serious damage).

After making a complaint directly to Excess International, we have not received any feedback or an apology for the appalling service!

Would recommend to anyone who needs peace of mind for their move.

Excellent service!

What a wonderful experience! Thank you for wonderful communication from start to finish. The whole process was so much faster than expected. Everything is still in the condition I shipped them in.
