Absolute rip off don't waste your money

Absolute rip off. Says it can unlock your phone for a price, $24USD so $38AUD. Then after you pay it says it just needs to check things and changes to oh actually that's just to check your phone can be unlocked now pay $60USD to actually unlock it. Literally WTF I know my phone can be unlocked why would I pay to find that out when you're intimating that's the cost FOR the unlock. Should have just gone direct instore and had it actually unlocked for that price.

Hi — Charlotte here. I’m sorry you’re frustrated — that does sound annoying.

Just to clarify: you’ve paid $24.99 for the Eligibility Check (we completed that) and your order status shows “Only paid for Eligibility Check, awaiting Unlocking Payment of $60.00” for the Hmd TA‑1602 on Vodafone Australia. All phones require an Eligibility Check first, then the Unlocking Payment.

As our terms state: “It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for. Pre-orders, eligibility check, and unlocking costs are incurred immediately upon placing your order.” Also, “Eligibility Check: These checks are non-refundable.”

If you’d like to continue, please initiate the $60 unlock payment via your Tracking page. If you want reassurance from other customers, you can see service reviews here: https://expressunlocks.com/unlock-vodafone#review_section.

easy and straightforward

it was easy and straightforward.
the passages were a couple: one to check if your phone was eligible, the other to actually unlock your phone. ita takes nothing for the first one, a while more for the second one.
They ensure the process is safe and legal and the y actually provide what you ask for.

Honestly express unlocks

Honestly express unlocks, I want my money back the unlock takes too much time and I have a money problem right now. This credit note is not worth having there isn't any phone I could ever want to unlock a network.
So please make means to refund me my money at least a percentage of it. I ordered a credit note and now I have totally no use of it.

Hi — I’m sorry this has been frustrating and I understand money is tight right now.

Per our terms and refund policy, credit notes are issued in many cases and are generally non-refundable. As we state: "Credit Notes can be used against any sim unlocking service, and for any device - simply click 'Use Credit Note' on the checkout page when purchasing. They cannot be used for iCloud Unlocks." Also note: "Eligibility Checks are non-refundable."

I can’t find or change your order without the IMEI, so please use the Live Support link on your tracking page (or reply with your IMEI there) so we can look up your order and suggest the best way to use the credit note — for example against a Remote USB or the correct unlock service. If your order status is "Awaiting Payment," remember "All phones require an Eligibility check first, followed by an Unlocking Payment," and costs are shown on the checkout page.

If you pop your IMEI into Live Support now I’ll get this sorted and suggest the quickest, lowest-cost option to make that credit note useful. — Charlotte

Hi — Charlotte here. Thanks for your review.

Your order for the iPhone 15 Pro Max (Smart Philippines) placed 25 Aug 2025 shows "Unlock Complete." You’ve paid $19.99 for the Eligibility Check and $60 for the Standard Unlock — all costs are shown on the checkout page.

To finish the process for iPhones, please follow the unlock steps: "connecting the phone to WiFi and turning the phone off and then on;" If it still isn’t unlocked, reply with your order number or IMEI and a short description and I’ll have a technician look into it right away.

Hi — I’m Charlotte. I’m really sorry you’ve had a poor experience.

I can see four payments on your order: €13.49 (Eligibility Check), €98 (Standard Unlock), €26.49 (Eligibility Check) and €108 (Standard Unlock). As shown at checkout, "All phones require an Eligibility check first, followed by an Unlocking Payment." If your phone requires a Premium Service this will be shown in your status and is an additional step.

Your order status is In Process — it’s currently 99% complete and "should be completed imminently." Once complete you’ll get the email with instructions — for iPhones you simply connect to Wi‑Fi and restart the phone ("iPhones: connecting the phone to WiFi and turning the phone off and then on;").

If the unlock does fail, please note our terms state "Standard Services which fail and which are not upgraded to Premium Service will be issued with a credit note only." If you don’t want that, reply with your order number or email and I’ll escalate now to confirm whether a Premium upgrade is required or to push the completion through. I’ll do my best to get this sorted quickly.

Hi — I’m Charlotte. I’m really sorry you’ve had a frustrating experience — that’s not what we want.

To help us investigate we need your IMEI and order reference. In the absence of that we can’t find your order — please use the Live Support link on your tracking page and share the IMEI so we can look into this right away.

Please note all phones require an Eligibility check first, followed by an Unlocking Payment and “Eligibility Check: These checks are non-refundable.” Costs are shown on the checkout page before you buy. We do offer refunds in specific cases (e.g. incorrect unlocking code or Premium Service failures) as set out in our Refund Policy.

If your order status is “awaiting payment,” please continue the process so we can complete the unlock. Give us your IMEI via Live Support and I’ll personally follow up to get this sorted.

RUN, ITS A BAIT N SWITCH

HORRIBLE!!!! BAIT & SWITCH. 22 DAYS AND STILL JUST GET RESPONSES SAYING PAY MORE AND MORE MONEY. WE CAN UNLOCK YOUR PHONE, NO PROBLEM. 2 HOURS TOPS. 25 DOLLARS, WAIT, THAT WAS JUST TO SAY WE COULD UNLOCK YOUR PHONE. $80 TO UNLOCK IT AND WE DON'T REFUND. DAYS LATER, $80 IS NOT ENOUGH, $200 MORE, AND IF YOU SEND THE $200 WE WILL REFUND IT IF WE CANT UNLOCK, IF NOT NO REFUND.. 8 DAYS LATER YOU MIS UNDERSTOOD, ITS $325 MORE. FOR PREMIUM SERVICE THAT IS. AND WE DON'T REFUND UNLESS YOUR A PREMIUM MEMBER!!!!

Hi — I’m Charlotte, and I’m really sorry this has been so frustrating.

I can see you’ve paid $24.99 (Eligibility Check) and $68.00 (Standard Unlock) for your iPhone 15 Pro Max (AT&T USA) placed on Aug 14, 2025. Your order status shows: "Doesn't meet standard network unlocking criteria. Premium service is required at a price of $174.00." Because the phone doesn’t meet standard criteria, a Premium Service is required to continue — this can happen with some iPhones. As our policy states, "Criteria Not Met: If your phone requires an upgrade (e.g., from Standard to Premium Service), any initial payments are non-refundable." At the same time, "Premium Services which fail - both your Standard and Premium payments will be fully refunded back to your card if it is not possible to unlock your device having tried Premium Service."

Please initiate the $174 payment via your Tracking page so we can proceed — once paid we’ll push this to Premium immediately. If you’d like me to check anything on the order first, tell me and I’ll take a look.

Massively misleading

Massively misleading. £23.99 is for the eligability check. Passed. They then wanted £33.00 to unlock it. Frustrating but I paid it. After FOUR WEEKS they then said they couldn't unless I paid £80.00. They offer no refunds - only credit notes. INSANE. Not paying that. Cheaper to buy a new phone!!!

*** UPDATE ***

My IMEI code is 355354086693084. I am adding this purely to verify my review.

Iin repsonse to your response ...

Just to explain what’s happening: all phones require an Eligibility Check first, then an Unlocking Payment. As our Terms state, “Pre-orders, eligibility check, and unlocking costs are incurred immediately upon placing your order” and “If you decide not to proceed with the unlocking payment, we cannot refund the cost of the Eligibility Checks, as we have already performed the service.” Our Refund Policy also makes clear: “Eligibility Check: These checks are non-refundable.”

*** I have not asked you to refun the eligability check, I've asked you to refund the Unlocking Payment ***

If an unlock needs upgrading (Standard → Premium) extra charges can be required and initial payments are non‑refundable — that’s why you may have been asked for more. I know that feels unfair, and I want to help get this sorted without you paying more than necessary.

*** It doesn't feel unfair, it IS unfair. I am more than able to 'not pay more that necessary' but not giving you any more money ***

I don’t have your IMEI or order reference here — without that I can’t pull your record. Please either paste your IMEI here or use the Live Support link on your tracking page so we can escalate this to a technician right away and find the best next step. If your order is currently “awaiting payment,” please continue the process so we can progress the unlock.

*** I don't want to progress the unlock, you're not having any more of my money!!! ***

First time experience, very good

This was the first time I had heard of and used express unlocks, the process was simple and took around 4-5 days for my old Xperia XZ1 Compact that was locked to o2, the first payment checks the compatability and then the second payment starts the process, the live chat on the website always get back to you and my phone is now unlocked to any network and I am very pleased!

Hi — Charlotte here. Sorry for the confusion. We do have a two‑stage process: all phones require an Eligibility Check first (this is charged at checkout), followed by an Unlocking Payment if the phone is eligible. All costs are shown on the order summary/checkout page before you pay.

If your order status is "Awaiting Payment," please complete the second payment to continue the unlock. We’ll need your IMEI to find your order — please use the Live Support link on your tracking page or reply with your IMEI so we can help finish this for you.

Disgusting service, they just want lots of money from you

Disgusting service. Initially paid £4.99 (Network Check), then they asked for £23.99 (Eligibility Check) and £42.00 (Standard Unlock) — total £70.98. They gave the impression at every stage that that this would sort the issue. The payments were not made clear until you completed each stage and then they would ask for more! Came back 24 hours and the site is now asking for a further £67.01 to continue. I had already found out from a free checker online that the phone sent from giffgaff was blacklisted, expressunlocks told me nothing new and did nothing to help except continually ask for more money. Stay clear, I am not even sure if they can actually do what they state as I'm not willing to pay anymore money to them!
Customer Service is terrible, they have now shared the information about pricing, it's a shame that they are not transparent with customers initially.

Hi — I’m sorry you’ve had a frustrating experience.

Our records show you’ve already paid: £4.99 (Network Check), £23.99 (Eligibility Check) and £42.00 (Standard Unlock) — total £70.98 — and your order (placed 24 Aug 2025) is currently: "Blacklisted - Premium Service Required at a price of £133.00." Because the phone is blacklisted, the system is requiring the Premium iPhone service in addition to the Standard Unlock; as our terms explain, "Guarantee does not apply where handset appears to be BLACKLISTED" and additional charges can be required if criteria aren’t met.

If you want to proceed, please initiate the Premium payment via your Tracking page so we can continue the unlock. If you don’t wish to pay, you’ve been issued a credit note which can be used on another service at checkout (click "Use Credit Note").

If you’d like, I can guide you to the Tracking page or explain the next steps.

Scam, it gives the impression that the payment is the cost of unlocking and it will be done immediately. Not true they asked for another payment double the first. The unlocking cost is more than the item is worth.

Hi — sorry this has left you feeling that way. I can see your order for a ZTE MF286D (Three UK) placed on 24 Aug 2025: you’ve paid £14.99 for the Eligibility Check and the order is currently “Only paid for Eligibility Check, awaiting Unlocking Payment of £38.00.”

Per our terms and refund policy, Eligibility Checks are non‑refundable. As stated: "Pre-orders' also referred to as 'Eligibility Checks' are not covered by our money back guarantee... If you decide not to proceed with the unlocking payment, we cannot refund the cost of the Eligibility Checks, as we have already performed the service." The Refund Policy also notes: "Eligibility Check: These checks are non-refundable."

I know the extra payment can feel like a surprise, but the checkout page shows any additional unlocking cost before you complete purchase. If you want to proceed, please initiate the Unlocking Payment via your Tracking page so we can continue the unlock. If you’d rather not continue, I can explain the eligibility results we found or show customer reviews here to help: https://expressunlocks.com/unlock-three#review_section

Hi — I’m Charlotte. Sorry you had a frustrating experience — I understand how that looks.

Often we charge twice because the service has two stages: an Eligibility Check (charged first) and then the Unlocking Payment if the phone is eligible. As our Terms explain, “It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for. Pre-orders, eligibility check, and unlocking costs are incurred immediately upon placing your order” and “There may be an additional price to pay for the sim unlock itself, this will be stated on your order summary page prior to purchase.”

If your order status is showing “awaiting payment” please continue the process so we can complete the unlock. We can’t look up your specific order without the IMEI — please use the Live Support link on your tracking page or reply with your IMEI so we can investigate and help ASAP.

Thanks,
Charlotte
