At first I thought this was a scam because after a few days the first two attempts to unlock the phone did not work. Customer service was quick to respond and the phone eventually did get unlocked. You have to pay to see if your phone qualifies for an unlock then an additional fee to have it unlocked.

Hi — thanks for the feedback and I’m really sorry the first attempts caused concern. I’m glad our team got it sorted and your phone is now unlocked.

Just to clarify why there’s a separate charge: as our Terms state, "The service of sourcing and supplying any unlock solution begins at the point payment has been received from a customer," and our Refund Policy/Terms also explains that "'Pre-orders' also referred to as 'Eligibility Checks' are not covered by our money back guarantee." That’s why the eligibility check and the unlock are billed separately.

We don’t have your IMEI on file from this review, and without an IMEI we can’t look up your order to address specifics. Please either reply with your IMEI here or use the Live Support link on your tracking page so we can help further.

I placed an order about a month ago on sept 8th, I was told it would take a little over a week and then they blocked me from the customer service help line for misuse of conduct. All I asked is if it was a scam. Now I just get the same fake email from a supposed company manager that it'll be resolved in a few days. Check everywhere before unlocking your phone without your provider. (That was my mistake)

Hi — I’m sorry this has been stressful. I can help, but I can’t find your order without your IMEI — that’s required to locate and resolve things. In the absence of any reference, we cannot address your specific concerns. Please use the Live Support link on your tracking page or reply here with your IMEI so I can escalate it right away.

A couple of notes from our terms so it’s clear why you saw delays/blocks:
- “1.1 …any timeframes stated are a calculation of the previous weeks unlocks and are given as a guideline, NOT a guarantee.”
- “2.1 It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for.”
- “14.1 We reserve the right to terminate the order of any customer who demonstrates any form of verbal abuse or aggression … Any such customer would also forfeit their right to a refund in this instance.”

If you want me to push this forward, please share the IMEI or use Live Support on your tracking page and I’ll get it escalated.

SCAMMERS

Asked for £15 payment upfront and told me my phone was locked to EE and then asked for an additional £49 to unlock it. I then contacted EE to complain about having to pay such an amount to unlock my lock from their network and they informed me that my phone is in fact already UNLOCKED! Do not use as they tell you your phone is locked to a network when it isnt just to get your money!! Do not click any links from their emails! Devastated I paid money to these scammers!

Hi — I’m Charlotte, I’m really sorry this has caused you stress — I understand how upsetting that is.

To investigate I need your IMEI and order reference. Without those we can’t find your order or resolve this. Our terms note: "Your purchase will appear on your card statements as Expressunlocks." Also our Refund Policy states: "Already Unlocked phones: No refund if you order an unlock for an already unlocked phone." and the Terms say: "It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for."

Please use the Live Support link on your tracking page to send your IMEI and order details so I can escalate this straight away and see what options are available. In the meantime avoid clicking any suspicious email links and report them via Live Support.

Total scammers

These scammers took 80 euro off me to do nothing. They claim to have contacted the provider and claim to have contacted the phone manufacturer. After 9 days of them achieving nothing, I contacted the provider myself and they unlocked the phone for me for free.

I contacted Expressunlocks to halt whatever farasical process they were undertaking and requested a refund which Im confident I will not recieve.

18 days later they contact me to tell me my phone is unlocked. Absolute thieves. Do not engage with this company.

Just straight scammers

Just straight scammers, they would tell you they can give you the unlock code fast, but they don't. Guess why, so you can't get a refund from your credit card and then they say they can't unlock but they would give you store credit. (like for what, I just need for that phone).

But to explain deeply, so I put a order to make sure the cellphone was clean record, has not been reported ect, and come clean and I did it with others companies. So I proceed to get the unlock service, it took more than 30 days, to get a negative since they said the phone was black listed and hardblock. And it was not, and still now day is not. They just use some simple excuses just to delay the process get the money and do not refund you and I even got the receipts that said is clean and is able to been unlock from themself like WTF.

Hi — I’m Charlotte. I’m really sorry this has been so frustrating.

I can see your May 12, 2025 order for a Standard Unlock ($63) for a Galaxy Z Fold6 on Open USA is marked Hard‑Locked and you were issued a credit note. Our terms explain: "Any unlocks which come back as Hard-Locked by the network will be refunded in the form of a Credit Note, due to the amount of work required in attempting to perform this unlock." They also confirm the service starts when payment is taken, so we couldn’t cancel the submission after payment.

If you have the receipts showing the phone is clean, please send your order number, IMEI and those documents to support@expressunlocks.com (or reply here) and I’ll escalate this to our technicians to re-check — we can try to apply your credit note toward another attempt or suitable service. Note credit notes cannot be used for iCloud Unlocks.

I’m sorry for the delay — send the docs and I’ll push this up for you.

Total scam. Paid £15 just to check eligibility and then £49 to unlock. Received codes and nothing worked. Around 20 odd messages back and forth over the course of 3 weeks and still dont have my phone unlocked. No refund. Avoid this company at all costs.

Hi — I’m really sorry you’ve had this frustrating experience.

Our Refund Policy says: "Incorrect Unlocking Code: If, having worked with our technician to get the code to work, and we cannot get the code to work, you'll be refunded." At the same time the Terms state: "'Pre-orders' also referred to as 'Eligibility Checks' are not covered by our money back guarantee" — so the £15 eligibility check is non‑refundable.

You haven’t supplied your IMEI or order reference — we need the IMEI to find your order and verify what happened. Without that reference we can’t investigate or action a refund/upgrade. Please either reply here with your IMEI and order number or use the Live Support link on your tracking page so we can escalate this straight away. I’ll push this to our techs as soon as we have those details.

Hi — Charlotte here, thank you for the kind feedback! I’m glad you felt regularly updated and that we chose the best solution for you.

Your order (placed 18 Sep 2025) shows status: "Unlock Complete". Your unlock codes are:
NETWORK=91841819 PROVIDER=94018069 SUBNET=00000000 DEFREEZE=39149136 EXTRA=00000000 EXTRA2=00000000

As our Terms state, "Non-iPhones: entering the unlocking codes provided in accordance with the email instructions." If your S9+ doesn’t prompt for a code when you insert a non-Open sim, then "An Android device is only able to be unlocked via a code if the device asks for an unlock code..." — in that case you’ll need a Remote USB unlock at an additional fee.

If you want, reply here and I’ll guide you step‑by‑step to enter the codes or arrange the Remote USB option.

BIG HIDDEN CHARGES - DO NOT USE

Complete rip off company. Charged £14.99 for what i thought was unlocking an S10 lite which was locked to Vodafone. Only reason went with them as looked professional and needed phone quickly. Paid the initial money and after about 5 min I checked again and they wanted an additional £49 to actually unlock the phone (which subsequently Vodafone did in 30m instead of the up to 10 day turnaround) I contacted them and asked for refund to which i got no refund our terms say initial fee is for checks only... however they would be happy to walk me through payment of £49 and they'd be happy to unlock my phone. This repeated after several messages even after telling them 4 times i would not pay any more they kept hassling me to pay extra £49. I have contacted bank who advised me to dispute charge after 15 days so my opinion DO NOT USE

Hi — I’m really sorry this was frustrating.

Your order shows you’ve paid £14.99 for an Eligibility Check (placed Sep 23, 2025) and the unlock is awaiting the additional £49 payment. Per our policy: "Eligibility Check: These checks are non-refundable." and "It is not possible to cancel your order once it is paid for."

If you’d like us to finish the unlock, please initiate the £49 payment via your Tracking page and we’ll complete it. If Vodafone have already unlocked your S10 Lite, that’s great — please note the Eligibility Check fee remains non-refundable per the terms above.

You can read other customers’ experiences here: https://expressunlocks.com/unlock-samsung-open#review_section

If you want, I can walk you through making the payment on your Tracking page.

Be very careful

Be very careful, this is a cleverly constructed scam. It appears to offer service to unlock your mobile but nowhere does it say that initial charge is for "eligibility" check only! Then you will get demand for another £50+ for the actual unlock! Reported to my bank.

Hi — I’m really sorry you feel this way and I want to help sort it quickly.

Please note our Terms state that "Pre-orders, eligibility check, and unlocking costs are incurred immediately upon placing your order. By clicking Credit/Debit Payment you wish for the order to be commenced immediately." Our Refund Policy also makes clear there are refund routes in certain situations (for example: "Incorrect Unlocking Code: If, having worked with our technician to get the code to work, and we cannot get the code to work, you'll be refunded.") but some items (like eligibility checks) are non‑refundable ("Pre-orders... are not covered by our money back guarantee.").

No refund after 3 months

I walked into this site, with my eyes open. After the initial charge, they then levied another £26.00. After 3 months they failed to unlock the phone and have not refunded as they agreed, in multiple emails. The non existent 'tech' department did not contact me. The unlock service is free from Vodafone and Sony, and the issue is now sorted at no charge. Don't even think about using this site. I have your email agreeing to a refund and you have blocked my opportunity to respond.

Hi — I’m Charlotte. I’m really sorry this has been stressful.

I can see your order for the Sony Xperia XZ Premium (Vodafone UK) placed 14 Jun 2025, status: "Reported as Not Unlocked, waiting customer feedback", payments: £11.99 (Eligibility Check) and £26 (Standard Unlock). Code on file: 1189725924262837.

To be clear on options: our terms state "Eligibility Check: These checks are non‑refundable." and "Standard Services which fail and which are not upgraded to Premium Service will be issued with a credit note only." Given the order status, we can either:
- Issue a credit note for the failed Standard Unlock to use on another service, or
- Escalate/reopen the case with our techs to attempt a further investigation/retry.

Please reply which you'd prefer and I’ll action it straight away.

Hello,

Hello,
I paid $24.99 for an eligibility check, and based on that, I was told my phone could be unlocked if I paid an additional $54.99. I paid the full amount, but now I’m being told that the original eligibility check was wrong and that my phone is not eligible for unlocking.
They promised to complete the unlock remotely via USB within 2 hours, but after waiting 5 days, no unlock was performed. I was also told that if the unlock was unsuccessful, I would receive a full refund. Despite this, my $54.99 has not been refunded.
At this point, I feel very disappointed and scammed. I kindly request an immediate refund of $54.99. If this is not resolved, I will have no choice but to dispute the payment with my bank/PayPal.

Hi — I’m Charlotte. Sorry you’re disappointed — I know this is frustrating.

Our records show you paid $24.99 for the Eligibility Check and $54 for the Standard Unlock. Because your order returned as Hard‑Locked by the carrier, our terms state: "Any unlocks which come back as Hard‑Locked by the network will be refunded in the form of a Credit Note" and "Eligibility Check: These checks are non‑refundable." Your order (Sep 15, 2025) was therefore issued a credit note, not a card refund.

You can use the credit note at checkout by clicking "Use Credit Note." If you’d like, I can help apply it toward a Remote USB unlock (Motorola devices are eligible for Remote USB unlocks) or walk you through the checkout. Would you like me to arrange that for your Moto G 5G 2025?

Status sim locked but working for US Sim card

It was a rush experience when I availed the services of Expressunlocks. We’re about to have our flight to US on the day I decided to have my carrier unlock since I’ll be using my phone with another sim. I was happy that the process was fast and smooth but when I tried to use my local sim (Philippines), it didn’t work. Since the time was not enough to ask for troubleshooting, I just tried to use my phone using the sim card we bought after arriving in the US, and fortunately, it worked even if the status of the carrier lock still says “Sim Locked”. Thank you.
