Company I applied with submitted…

Company I applied with submitted background check on 12/17/25. Keep getting told by first advantage that the report was pending. Date moved from 1/2 to 1/9, then 1/26. Decided to investigate for myself as first advantage claimed they hadn't heard back on my criminal history check. So I reach out to the state agency here that does those and find out they had faxed my criminal check back to first advantage on 12/19/25. After chatting with first advantage today , 1/12/26 and letting them know, my background report magically gets done. While I do understand things get misplaced etc, having my personal info misplaced by a company that is supposed to be trusted to do background checks is very unacceptable .

Had to pay for a background check for a…

I literally made this account just to say this. Had to pay for a background check for a company I was applying to but their website (first advantage) took my $40 and did not submit the background check. After contacting they said it was a technical issue and that their tech team would reach out. No reach out, so I reached out again and requested a refund. We emailed for like a day and then they went silent, still no refund.

There is no way to correct errors

There is no way to correct errors. No phone numbers, emails, advice, NOTHING! Then my background is gone, so I can not do my own research to correct the problem. I would have to start over and pay again.

I've sent this company my Dot medical card 5 time's! They still keep emailing me they haven't received them. Every time I've submitted them it says it's successfully. Then i get another email saying they don't have it. I'm going on the 5th time! Can someone help me plz?

The only reason I gave it 1 ⭐ was to be able to ✍️ a review and so far the only analogy that I can give is I hope the upper executives who designed this Spy agency go through the same 🔬 background checks as it's service seems to not assist at all and feels as If I were applying to work for them and not the Employer in question..Feels Scamish at best and illegal at worst..

Tragedy

Tragedy! One of the worst experiences in my life. Amateur service, there is no professional treatment. Everything is on the lowest possible level. I am surprised it is used by some companies. If I knew at the beginning the company uses it I would never accept their offer.

If I could I would rate below zero.

If I could I would rate below zero.. unprofessional agents, zero customer service and support, the dispute can not be done unless your employer reorder the background check report ( it will never happen) is not possible to update inaccurate information that caused the failure of the background.

Too long …

I have been waiting on my background check to clear for over a month and a half, I have not been able to work, this should not take 5 weeks to do a background check, if they can't do it, they need to pass it on to a company that can get the job done, this is affecting my livelihood, it is unacceptable,
I'll hate for other companies to use First Advantage, if I can give it less than one star, I would.

For a company that handles sensitive…

For a company that handles sensitive data, their web interface is alarming.

Their MFA is broken. Going to their homepage triggers a security warning on every browser I use. I cannot proceed through submitting my addresses. I had to do a background check in 2022 and had the exact same issues. It's atrocious and cannot believe a company like this can be allowed to handle my data.
