Rude employee
Went In the store in Wilson’s Mills, NC to purchase one thing. The cashier tried selling me a mask AFTER I had made my purchase. I politely declined purchasing a mask and the cashier was extremely rude. She said “I’m serious! You need to be wearing one!” She has no business telling people what they NEED to do. Pandemic or not, she could have been more polite about it.

I went to the store on Fort Avenue in Lynchburg Va. The store was filthy. The floor itself looked as if it hadn't been mopped in forever. I only saw one employee and she was stocking and cashiering. The line had 7 people in it including myself. While waiting in line no other employees or cashiers came up to assist her. Then while checking out I noticed my items were being placed in a clear trash bag. Beyond disappointing and ghetto. This location has a bad reputation for poor customer service and cleanliness and I can clearly see why.
Very rude and childish management
Horrible service!! With covid people should be given a break! Im dragging a 5 year old behind me, i wear glasses and the masks fog them up badly. The sign stated "no cash back" near checkout but i did not see it and chose the option. The cashier said we normally dont offer this. She showed me the sign and i apologized atleast 20 times my glasses were fogged. The cashier was very nice... but once she got the manager on duty it went downhill. I offered canceling out my sale and forgetting it but instead your manager decided to belittle me, slander me, and then SLAM the cigarette case closed and walked away. All the while steady talking about me under her breath. Wish i caught her name but as i stated glasses are all fogged up and at this point she has embarrased me! I will never be back and she should be punished. It was an honest mistake.

I shop at family dollar once in a while. I have a very long trip from Crystal River, and so I stop on state Rd 21, to Gainesville, to get a few things and use the bathroom. It's a long stretch, and I was told the bathrooms are not for the public.I was not happy because the next stop was 12 plus miles. If I patronize your store, my goodness, let me use the bathroom.
family dollar needs to hire more employess
I love family dollar but every time I go in there it's all these damn employees walking around and a long damn line with only 1 employee at the register working. then when you say they need more help at the front the workers have an attitude problem. but I have even applied for a job but yet they say they not hiring but they need help
Aggressive and unprofessional manager Carol
I am a faithful customer to the family dollar store chains. There are a few in San Diego and I live close to the one on university. I have met some great employees and managers with outstanding customer service, however, there is a particular employee/manager by the name of carol who time and time again I have seen her speak vulgarly and turns small incidents into outrageous scenes. I have seen her chase people out of the store and try to fight them in the street, I have seen her get physical with peoples property and I have seen her break under pressure. I understand there could be high stress levels working in low income communities. Yet, every customer should be treated with dignity and respect. After yesterdays incident in which i had my child with me I am now going to advocate to have her removed from this store. I shop there almost everyday and whenever carol is working there is a thickness of a doomsday atmosphere in the store. I cannot tolerate someone who has no regards for other peoples children in a corporate store. My child should have not witnessed such a traumatic scene yesterday 9/18/2020 between 930-am and 945 am. She responded very disgusting to a family of 3 women and there are many other incidents she has handled completely unprofessional.
Harassment About Backpacks
Apparently, Family Dollar corporate retail public stores allow their public employees to impose public sanctions by Color-of-Law practices against unsuspecting people purchasing food and other said 'essential', survival resources, only by means of needful necessity. Being that these corporations carrying food and survival resources, the average person is forced to depend on them.. especially when these corporations hoard the Earth's resources by manufacturing and industry. This particular complaint is about Store# 10067 and the said 'Manager', Ashley, practicing Color-of-Law on said 'patrons' purchasing food and resources through Family Dollar, only by means of necessity for living and survival. These store chains have taught their employees to treat its patrons as if Family Dollar has been doing the public a favor for being in operations, while imposing unagreed to stipulations against honest people purchasing products through its store chains, while the shareholders make fortunes with policies and procedures not in harmony with the real laws of the land (not policies). Of course, their argument would relate to said 'Loss Prevention'. However, it would be safe to say that their shareholders and executives are the real theives... where's the People's Loss Prevention????
Out of stock supplies not being sent to Ayer branch.
Branch in Ayer MA has been out of a needed cleaning product for many months. Other products missing from shelves. Workers in store convey they stock what they are sent by the company as IF there is no option for management in the store to put in a request to be sent items that are out of stock and have been for a long while.
Family Dollar is a store l will leave and go to Dollar General, lesser of two evils
family Dollar is a store l go in less and less. I don’t make it my first choice anymore. So, if I can help it, l will
go to the food Lion right next door. The one l used to go to is always overheated, the aisle are cluttered, stocked with boxes to be unpacked. There is usually only one cashier/ stock person at register and up to 3 in store must if the time. The store is not clean and workers are friendly but seem so overworked as they are usually working unpacking boxes when we walk in.
I was watching Undercover Boss tonight and decided to write this review.
Please look into store on Pisgah Church Road & North church Street, Greensboro, NC. The workers need help and some incentive to work there.
Family Dollar LPGA-No Mask Complaint
Family Dollar LPGA-No Mask Complaint
Two days ago on 7/21/2020 I stopped at the Family Dollar on LPGA in Holly Hill, FL. As I drove up, I saw a customer coming out with a cart and a mask on his face. So, I thought it would be safe to go in. I walk in the door and a cashier/staff greets me with no mask on her face. Two months ago, a month ago, I saw this no mask on Family Dollar staff before. Today, with almost 6,000 people dead in Florida, I thought there would be masks on staff. The female Family Dollar staff said welcome to her store, I picked up a small hand basket and took two steps into store. I looked around and no one was in the store but me. I looked at the cash register area and there was just a clear piece of plastic between me and this probably virus infected Family Dollar worker. God told me to turn my butt around and get out of there. This I did quickly. Why am I writing this complaint? Family Dollar on LPGA had continued to have their staff with no masks, last month, month before, two weeks ago and now two days ago. So, I blasting Family Dollar for being as stupid as Trump and infecting people with their stupid denial of the disease and their non-caring attitude for others. Possible Family Dollar customers, you have been warned!!
Winchester, VA No A/C
Valley Ave Store Winchester, Va
Went in recently and within a few minutes I noticed how hot it was in the store. I noticed the store clerk looked hot and a bit sweaty. Was told the air conditioning doesnt worked and hasn't for a long time (years). I felt sick that an employer would make their employees work in an environment like that. I would encourage the employee to find another place to work, as much as I Love that store, I will Not go into a store with no A/C, that will make me feel sick to my stomach. Big companies just dont care !!!!! Lost my business !!!!
Poor Management
They need to change the name from Family Dollar to flea market. I am a new resident in the area and never in my life time seen a store so poorly managed. This corporation should be ashamed. Yesterday I visited the store to purchase toiletries for my home. I arrived at the store at 9:00am on 7/7/2020 and the store was closed. This is not the first time I have experienced this. On several occasion the store is either not open or closed very earlier without notification on the door. In addition, the floors are nasty, merchandise misplaced or scattered throughout the store. On last week I was searching for allergy medication, asked a store attendant (who was busy chatting on her phone)which aisle the product resides and she had no clue. As a General Manager for one of the biggest retail stores in the Georgia area such a unpleasant shopping experience is not only unacceptable the store manager would be fired. A Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a store, making sure it runs smoothly and effectively. General Managers are tasked with overseeing daily business activities, improving overall business functions. In this case neither task and/or responsibilities are being executed. If you are a resident in this area stop spending your money there. Today I discover an awesome Dollar Tree and Dollar General within the proximity. The stores were very clean and the customer service is A+.

Family Dollar's $5 off $25 is such a ripoff. The last 5 times I tried to use it the app messed up. I asked the clerk for the 800 number and I called it and left a message and no one ever called me back. I have since quit going to Family Dollar. Their customer service is one of the worst ever!!!
I'm upset
I'm a shopper at this store for the last three year since I moved to Hollygrove it's just out off convenience but on June 30th 2020 I had the second discouraging encounter with this worker who seem to be the supervisor and think i was her child, her attitude stinks no courtesy or respect towards people like myself who shop there on daily basis I always egnored her but I just had enough, I had my bag pack on and just came from work stop in there to pickup a dishwashing liquid that's all i needed,i could hear her from across the hall mam,mam mam all the way to the isles where the item was kept she wasn't wear a mask, came up in my face, can you hear?, Pointing to her ears I said yes and when around her she kept walking behind me u need to leave your bag, I said I'm not leaving my bag, she said well u have to leave the store I said put me out she said he's going to put me out that's the security at the door, I proceeded toward the cashier by this time she had told them not to ring up my item so i had to leave... if this they you treat customers then what the use I spend my money there she wasn't tell people they should have a mask on as several person in the store didn't have any on but she single me out and chased me for my bag pack. This area as been deemed a bad area but there're hard working and decent people the lives in close vicinity to this store and this is where they, when u leave you personal belongings at the cashier they do not give you any ticket to protect your property, your leaving it unprotected, anyone can leave with it and no one sees. I don't see the reason to comply with this rule when you have a security and cameras monitoring the store and u still want me to leave my belongings to the element something must be done to provide customers with service they deserve this is not acceptable for me to be treated like a criminal this is not state law so put something better in place and give your employees some customer service training all people aren't the same why treat us all like criminals.
Trash Trash Trash
On 7/01 I walked in to the Family dollar (5615 Airport Blvd Houston, Texas.) The cashier was at the front of the store I thought merchandising, but she was on her phone. ,"I don't have time to deal with this mutherfucker." I looked at her, then she said, "let me watch my mouth." and she continued to have a conversation about paying her bills, and she don't need no body. So I walked to the back of the store to get my dishwashing liquid and dog toy. As I walked to the front she was checking out another woman still on the phone. She did not offer any help. a thank you nothing. So, I get in line and walked to the register. She continued to have a conversation with whoever was on the phone. I stated to her that I am the customer and I don't want to hear your conversation. Now while she was ringing me up, there was two men one the soda man and I guess an employee. After she finished she didn't say thank you, nothing. So I was waiting for my mother in law so I stood at the door waiting for her, and one of the men said, "if she has a problem, why she still her." Please please do not support this store.
BAD Store Level Management!!
Sitting outside Family Dollar off of US17-92 in Longwood. Store has a HUGE sign saying they are open from 9-6, & that those are the current covid-19 hours. Google says they are open as well, which is WHY I just drove all the way here from Lake Mary. Then ANOTHER sign DIRECTLY UNDER the OPEN SIGN state that the store is temporarily closed due to covid-19. I mean, are you KIDDING me, Family Dollar?? Get it together, you absolute morons; I'm sure closing the store was likely a corporate decision, but to have 2 conflicting signs posted on the same frigging door is just BAD STORE LEVEL MANAGEMENT, & I would know because I managed a different dollar store for 2 yrs & never did anything so ASININE. Also, MOST businesses update on Google when they are not CURRENTLY open, saving a customer the wasted drive. Just all-around BAD management!!
Johanna Family Dollar in the Village
supposed to be manager and she came with a attitude immediately, the box say 18.00 I pointed out the sign and she still spoke with a very nasty attitude. When I asked to get customer service corporate telephone number she stated you know the number you filled an application before you didn’t get the job figure it out. So the young man behind the register went to go get corporate number and she wrote on a piece of paper family dollar.com contact us. As I was leaving the store she had me so mad I asked her if family dollar had a dental plan because if they did she need to get her teeth fixed. She immediately ran out the door and told me that she was trespassing me and if I came back she was gonna call the police. This is no type of customer service I would like someone to call me back because this is not the first interaction I have with this young lady she’s been nasty before and I overlooked it I will not overlook this one.

Family dollar is a horrible place to work. The managers all go to lunch at the same time. They hate it when you are honest about your availability.
Family Dollar will not exchange or refund money for defective items
I would like to make a public service announcement about Family Dollar and their shady business policy. If you make a purchase from Family Dollar and you receive merchandise that is defective you will NOT be able to exchange it nor receive a refund. Their sorry excuse for taking your money and sticking you with defective products is none other than COVID. Well let me inform you of why this is nowhere even close to a valid reason for not doing the right thing and replacing the junk I was sold. The store has no problem taking anyone's nasty money. All day long every single day they handle the nastiest thing in the world that EVERYONE handles. They bring into their store and touch something that has millions of germs some possibly from a strippers butt crack or maybe up a junkies nose. Yet you won't take your crappy merchandise back which I am pretty sure has millions less germs than the money received for it. I am in the process of getting with the consumer protection agency and start a class action suit which I know we will win because there are laws that protect us consumers. They kinda frown on businesses who rip people off. I would like to recommend Dollar General. I purchased the same product and was assured if it didn't work they would gladly exchange it or give me a refund no problem at all.
