Stay away

This site has gotten progressively worse over the years. It's full of sex workers trying to make money off their porn, sex offenders, men's rights activists, white supremacists, and incels. FetLife forbids people from naming their abusers. Google "FetLife murder," "FetLife rapist" and "FetLife criminal" and see what you pull up. Stay away from this site.

I just deleted my account

I just deleted my account, because of the way I was treated by the male members. I'm brand new to bdsm and fetlife was recommended as a safe place for beginners like me to explore and be part of a community.

When my account first went active I was mobbed by men who were aggressive and I had to block numerous accounts for being abusive:
1. when I didn't answer fast enough to their replies
2. wasn't interested in their kinks or
3. Doms trying to convince me that I wasn't dominant and that apparently all Dommes are secret slaves just waiting for the right Dom)
4. treating me like a pro-dom (like an employee (always on the clock))
5. acted like selfish jerks with no regard to my kinks or that I'm new to bdsm
6. demanding pictures or cam shows or meet ups (when I barely know them)
7.the numerous requests for money, gifts, and other monetary sites (fansonly page, patreon page)

this site is not for beginners or those who are curious and looking for a safe place to explore.

If I could give a negative star I would…

If I could give a negative star I would but since you have to give something its a 1.Horrible site.I joined because of what the name implies FETish life.I have some kinks and fetishes and when I first went on saw there seemed to be alot of people with the same or looking for the same.Boy was I way off.Just as an example of how unprofessional and rude these people are,my original post was kind, respectful towards women and described what I was looking for.Well after about a month of no response I posted again slightly agitated but still respectful.Man I got responses then. One from the moderator I guess who he was cursing me out, telling me hes going to kick my butt, hes gonna report me etc.Bottom line the site is run by a click of a handful of people and I promise you,you will not find anyone to date, hook up or whatever. Its a free site but you can upgrade of course,by paying and youll be in some bs elite club.yeah right.Anyway if you have a fetish or kink idk what to tell you other than maybe a bar because most of these sites are fake.Another thing about this site and not that I have anything against gays but I would say 95% of the people here are gay and damn near 100% are lesbians and all of them will tell you the same thing.....theyre not here for a relationship or fetish etc, just for friendship.Ummm did i miss something?thought this was the whole point of the site or any dating site.Bottom line dont wast your time and dont give them money. Its just another fake site run by bots.Good luck

Shake off the shakles of conventional sexuality and express yourself

Not sure what everyone is complaining about! Whining about people's personal profiles and wanting them policed?! If you don't like a profile move the F on! This site is great for meeting people if you enjoy power dynamics or sadomasochism in the bedroom, among every other adult consensual fetish you could imagine. Even so, I've still managed to come up with a few new ones ;-) Other reviewers seem to have personal hang ups that keep them from enjoying the site. Go ahead, be liberated from social convention. Fetlife allows you to express your sex, gender and sexuality in a multitude (like hundreds!) of ways. I recommend it. Only beef is that I want emogies in the chats! The interface is a little dated. <3 Peace.

From a 5+ to barely a 1.

I've actually been a member of FETLife for 10 years. It used to be great. Five years ago I would have rated it a 6 out of 5, Unfortunately, they've really let it slide downhill.

The simple explanation is that over the last five years, the majority of the female profiles have gone from just average, girls next door amateurs that are into kink and looking to meet, to the point where over half of the female profiles are now cash based (e.g. Give me money.)

The problem is a combination of two things:
1) FETLife does not monitor the website. The don't look at profiles and see if they're posting appropriately. As an example, a group that might be for "Swingers in Seattle" will get posts from a girl in Florida that say "I swing. And I'll do anything for money! Buy my panties, my pictures, my videos, my toenail clippings, a handjob, you name it." and NOBODY WILL SAY "Hey, that's not really a post for swingers in seattle, it's some girl selling something.

2) Every single cash starved girl has discovered that they can spam EVERY category with thinly vague dirty postings, and then when somebody goes to look at the girls profile, all you find is a link to NiteFlirt, or Chaturbate, or Venmo, or Amazon Wishlist, or a PayPiggy group, etc, etc.

Look, one of FET's strengths is a non-jundgemental acceptance of almost any kink.
It's also their weakness if they don't monitor and police the site to make sure it's not being taken advantage of simply for marketing purposes.

As it stands, with over 50% of the female profiles advertising or selling (or simply begging) for something, and most of them doing it very discretely/shady, you find yourself wasting your time, messaging a girl several times, only for her to come out and say "I can't make my rent, my phone bill, I'm starving, I need to bail out my boyfriend, I really want to sell my panties it will get my hot, don't you want to be my sugar daddy, pay me money dammit!"

It's really sad. This site used to be great.
Now it's a dumpster.

Most ppl are right

Most ppl are right, fetlife is becoming more & more like a glorified porn site for guys to masturbate to.
There is no sense of community like it’s supposed to. And the only thing you’ll find consistent is that they advertise only thin women & seem to support unprotected sex.
What you will find are women who are bitchy & cliquey & some with egos the size of your state. And there is bullying if you post anything in a thread.
So... if you want to join what it essentially a cheap porn site & get bullied then fetlife is the place for you.

This site caused my relationship to be over...

This site is basically a sex trafficking site. I recently found my ex fiancé on this nasty site, he has hid this site from me for months , years and this site caused our relationship to be over. So thanks fet life. There are some serious sick trashy people out there. And as for my fiancé, I hope this site was worth losing everything you had! So everyone that condoned to sex acts with my fiancé I pray to god you women/men didn’t get or give him a disease.

I have been nothing but good and a faithful woman to this sick man, as a matter of fact he’s not even a man, he’s a BOY. Go to hell you trashy women and this site who ruined my relationship. Y’all are sick, he was sick. I now walk around town everywhere and I just look at every female and think to myself, you probably had sex with my x fiancé.

This man who I thought I was gonna spend the rest of my life threw it all away for this damn devil site! I’m disgusted and dissapointed. Highly disgusted! Nothing hurts more than, watching the man on a video(that your dumb a$$ posted), you love have sex with different women and in the same room with different guys sharing a woman, just sick and to think u were the one I was gonna spend the rest of your life with, damn shame. I’m very thankful, I caught you before I even married your pathetic selfish cheating mf. a$s. Seen it all, pictures, videos, messages, and you didn’t even care who you were messaging, ugly, fat, old, whatever you didn’t care, you were desperate to have sex with whoever or whatever!!! No condomn whatsoever .... You are sick, you would have sex with Anything And everything. It was never real and you were never mine if you could do all this!!! You had me convinced you were the one. It was too good to be true! He also prefers older trashy looking women. Nothing is ever good enough for you, you prefer trash than gold!

What’s done in the dark will always come to the light E. Go find your next victim, I didn’t deserve this.

Just porn.. nothing more.

I joined a few years back and have found it to be good... in the beginning. But now all I see is a porn site. People claiming artistic expression is just glorified porn. It has also caused a lot of problems between my partner and I. I rearly go on there now. Mostly only to check if my partner has been on there. Stop calling it a place for people with fetishes because it isn't. There are some very sick people on it. My kink isn't your porn.

Really FetLife? 3 Days!!!........

It's a shame they don't have a negative 5 rating for this.....I tried logging into my Fet account 3 days ago and was told to contact support to get me in quickly. I received no email from them in a 24 hour period, so I followed up with a second email. Again, no reply, so today I have sent a 3rd email and am waiting to see if they reply to this one. I have spoken to people about this and they all told me their issues were resolved within 24 hours of sending the email, However for some reason this is not the case with me, And until they cop the F*** on and help me with my issue, every review site will be receiving a negative review for every 3 hours I have to wait after sending the third email.

Fetlife m, more like trashlife

I’ve made multiple accounts on fetlife, spacing out the time I’ve made the accounts. And every time I go back, it only gets worse. People lie on there about what they want, they send unsolicited messages and pictures, and degrading comments on your pictures. These people abuse the site. I’ve decided to delete my account once and for all and I’m NEVER going back.

THE GRASS IS GREENER?

I never imagined that I would be writing something like this.

This website and the people that feed off it, because they are bottom-feeders (excuse the pun!) is a breeding ground for perverted, lying, sick, bitter and twisted people. I am very open minded in general but this site is basically an internet version of road side street hookers, cross dressers and any sort of crack-infested cheap sex you want.

The reason I know this is that this website has been the demise of my marriage. My husband looks for anything weird and wonderful and although I have been a loving and loyal wife, and certainly not a prude at all!, he logs into this site and has had numerous meetings with women (who are aware he is married - biarches!) and I have had calls from women on this site to inform me of his infidelities. Thank you (I think!).

My advice is - don't lie to your spouse. Nine times out of ten your spouse is the person you actually love and don't want to be without (like my ex husband right now) so stop being a fool and using people on this site (who you have no real intention of ever actually wanting to be with) as a release that will never ever be satisfied. Grow up and be a real man. If you want a spank I will bloody well give you one as my young sons are far bigger men than most of you on this site.Full bloody stop!

So a note and reminder to married men... my now ex husband has been on this site and I have had two phone calls over the past couple of years from women who have met my husband here (both of which have rung my work).Worth the risk?

My guess is this won't be published....

If I could give this no stars I would

If I could give this no stars I would, I have used FetLife on and off for 4 yrs. There is so much wrong with FetLife for a lot of different reasons. Let's begin.

1. There is a lot of Guys that say they are Dom's but when you ask about there experience, they have nothing to tell you.
2. So much Manipulation is used in this Scene, you don't know who to trust.
3. The Owner and other workers of the website allow people to degrade, humiliate and write things that simply aren't true about others on the site.
4. Some guys use this site to cheat on there spouses, but say that they are in a poly or open relationship, they are lyers.
5. Owners of events think it's ok to threaten other event owners to hold a protest because they don't agree with certain things. If you want to be outed but proxy please go onto this website because it will happen.
6. People will fight publicly in group discussions, be ready for mob like mentality on this website.
7. Biggest website for people on anti-depressents and other issues
8. Do not trust most people on this website, they will turn on you faster than you can blink.
9. Some event owners don't listen to victims of abuse or degradation because money is better than losing customers. I hope your business fails more than it already has.

I'm from Brisbane Australia, the FetLife scene here really needs to change because quite frankly it is a disgusting place to be and I do not recommend this website. Save your sanity from this place.

FetLife needs to do so much better to stop online abuse and mob mentalitys.

I've used this app for 6 months

I've used this app for 6 months. If that isn't enough time to develop a proper experience of an app, then I don't know what is. I've talked with probably a hundred different women, and every single conversation ended the same way: blackmail or begging for money. I haven't met a single person... not one single legitimate person who actually wanted to pursue a "kinky" relationship. You're better off looking for someone in real life, and then seeing if they'll fullfil your desires, because let's face it, just about every dating service out there, especially those sexually based, are about 70% needy men, 29.9999% scammers, and 0.00001% real women

Still the best

Fetlife.com is still the best site! I am not sure what everyone is complaining about. If you weren't lucky you may consider to use some alternatives like Justhavesex.com and fill in your profile what you are looking for. Works as well. However, Fetlife.com gives you the variety no other site or community can provide. I am not sure what everyone else was expecting but in general Fetlife.com should be just fine.

Fetlife should be renamed Gaylife

As a regular heterosexual male with a plethora of fantasies and kinks, with absolutely zero interest in men at all, Fetlife has confirmed to me that 99% of the female gender don’t share our kinks and perversions let alone understand them. And heterosexual males refusing to partake in anything gay should expect to be left out in the cold.

In many ways Fetlife gives the impression that being gay is a prerequisite to being interested in kink, but that’s simply not true. It wouldn’t be far off the mark to rename the site Gaylife or more appropriately, ‘50 Shades of Gay.’ All manner of homosexuals populate the site, only the abbreviations differ: pansexual, bisexual, heterofluid, CD, TV, transgender and so on. These are just a few, but there’s actually many more names they use and sometimes even the ones claiming to be ‘straight females’ turn out to be males.

I’m not wanting to offend anyone by pointing all this out. Indeed if you’re a gay male into kinks you’ll probably find the site very interesting. But single heterosexual males are wasting their time.

As with other sex sites, the men vastly outnumber the women. To be totally blunt, men have a much stronger sex drive than women and this naturally results in them visiting such places in far greater numbers. Even so, it’s a bit disappointing. 1 female to 50 males is the norm online, but if you remove the transsexuals, crossdressers, lesbians and redundant profiles, the number on Fetlife may be less.

Considering the above, its inevitable that the few women present will become extremely popular and sought after, but it will be impossible for single males to generate the same level of interest.

One section that could’ve helped change that is ‘Writing,’ where you can share anything and everything -  thoughts, opinions, erotica, poems. In theory, anyone contributing unique original content could easily build up a loyal following regardless of gender.

Unfortunately Fetlife goes out of its way to ensure that all the content sharing sections -‘Pictures’ ‘Videos’ and ‘Writings’ – are packed full of sexy, young women showing off their hot, toned bodies. Why? Cos sexy women provide good marketing and attract revenue (you have to donate money to see the vids).

But its unfair to males – a well-organized Writing section could’ve helped bridge that gap between the sexes. A good male contributor could’ve had a shot at attracting followers and fans in a way he couldn’t otherwise.

For example, a writing section closer to a forum. 20-30 threads per page, each comment bumping up a thread with popular content pushed to the top and less interesting stuff naturally falling to the bottom. Such a democratic type of section would’ve been extremely interesting given the vast number of members and it would’ve made an extremely lively content-sharing forum.

However, Fetlife’s insistence on making money through sexy girls means this would be unworkable for them. Instead, you have content-sharing sections giving the impression that the site is teeming with hot, busty women, but when you dip into ‘Fetish Groups’ packed full of middle-aged men you come to realise this couldn’t be further from the truth!
