Very fair transparent pricing (saved 40%)

Very fair and transparent pricing (40% cheaper then the repair shop). Great communication and a quality installation by a knowledgeable mechanic. Convenient. I highly recommend trying this innovative service and will be calling them for my next auto repair.

Professional service despite hard circumstances

I called yourmechanic to replace my gas tank due to a leak. They cancelled on me last minute because the mechanic was moving to another city. I then called Fixmycar about the repair when I was greeted by someone who made the effort to find a mechanic for a service they normally don't do. They found a mechanic to repair my car in a couple of days. The mechanic came out on a Saturday night in the freezing cold to replace my 17.5 gallon tank. He was friendly and worked efficiently to get the job done in the estimated time. On top of that the price was $25 cheaper than Yourmechanic. Needless to say I highly recommend Fixmycar and will use them again if necessary.

My technician went above and beyond!

My technician Nolen was AMAZING. He went above and beyond to diagnose and repair my vehicle even in the terrible weather. He even had to make two trips, and did so without hesitation. He also didn’t bat an eye when I had him talk on he phone to a family member about what was going on so that we were all on the same page due to my (VERY) limited auto repair knowledge. I will forever recommend this team!

Highly disappointed!

I had someone come out to originally to come look at my 2018 Chevy equinox as soon as he got out the car he said “I’ve never worked on cars like this” you could definitely tell he didn’t know what he was doing so he just stopped and told me I need to take it to a dealership. So I wouldn’t have wasted $80 we decided to let him see if he could diagnose my 2013 Volkswagen Eos. He told me the check engine light was spark plugs and coils I said okay cool and made an appointment for the next day. Sunday after the diagnosis we had to change the card on file that we booked with to a different card the mechanic told us he was switching the cards come to find out he charged the original card for the $80 and my card got a random charge of $91 from a “stay focused nutrition”! The next day he came out we locked both cards let him fix the spark plugs and coils but since it contactless we really don’t know if he actually changed the coils and the spark plugs or just turned off the check engine light for the time being because he was at my house for 20 mins and he said he’s done. When I test drove the car it was still making that noise I even told him to get in the car with me to see. When we got back to the parking spot he couldn’t tell me anything told me I just need to drive it then has me sit and rev my engine over and over agin. The next day I went 3 mins from my house and the check engine light came back on!! I tried to call and let them know but the woman who answered the phone tried to tell me I was the one who said I needed spark plugs and coils and that I didn’t get a diagnostic even though I have a receipt for it she told me she would look into it and give me a call back she never called back!!! I told her I wouldn’t like the same mechanic because at this point I don’t trust him I called to have a mechanic come out that knew what he was doing not someone that guess. I called again the Becky day requesting someone to give me a call back yet again no one called me back all of a sudden I get a TEXT from the woman saying that the mechanic that I originally had was busy and he would contact me the next day (3days later) I was extremely clear that I wanted a new mechanic, I called AGAIN left a message for someone to call me yet again no call!! How unprofessional! But guess what I got a text again from someone this time trying to give me a new quote but no one even came back out. I even asked the mechanic if my check engine light comes back on will I get a refund he said yes! Well I can’t even get someone on the phone so I’m out of $80 for a diagnostic $140 for spark plugs and coils and $91 for a random change that the mechanic charged on my card!

Starter replaced

Had to have starter replaced in parking lot of mall. 2008 hhr. Mark was the mechanic I was assigned. He communicated right away. Set time, he was actually able to do it sooner. Came fully equipped and got to it right off. Mark took care of it in short order car started. Mark was very professional and it was a pleasure to have his service.

My car's dual heater quit working on…

My car's dual heater quit working on the driver's side, after calling the dealership to find out my Warranty was expired and the diagnostic fee was going to be $169 just to look at it, I decided to give this a shot. The fact that they come out to your home, charge a lot less for the diagnostic, and apply half of that to the repairs, this was already a better deal, and then the technician that came over was super nice and knowledgeable, worked later than he had to, made this whole experience easy and stress free. I will definitely be recommending this service.

Ghosted/ Update-Please see Edit

I booked an appointment with Fixmycar and was given an appointment of between 4-5pm on Sunday.
Philip Wong, called and said he could make it earlier, if that was okay, I said sure and he arrived at about 1pm. He asked me the issue with my car and I told him it was stuck in anti-theft mode. He checked the car, and said it was the GPS tracker causing the car not to start. I told him how I had the car towed to a shop and was told it was the computer, he said they are lying and trying to cheat you. He even stated, he was so sure that it was the tracker, that he would be willing to return the $80.00 service fee if it were not. Phillip then said he could remove the tracker, but I needed to call the dealership to ask if it was okay for him to remove it, because if it were removed, they would probably come repo my car. As instructed, I got in contacted with the dealership, and was told by them there was not tracker placed on my car, but since the car was used, it is possible a tracker was place on the car by a previous dealership. The dealer said since the tracker was not placed on the car by them, it was okay to remove it. I called Phillip to let him know that what the dealership said. He said okay, he may be able to get to me that day. I checked back in with him later, and he stated he had a couple more trips, but if he had time he would come by. I did not hear from him, so I messaged asked if he would be able to make it tomorrow ( still have the messages, in case there is question about the exchange), he said yes and then, asked what time would I be available. I told him I would take off work, so could be available all day, which I did and was. I messaged him about 11 in the morning to ask if he was still coming, and he responded yes. At about two, I messaged again to ask if he had an approximate time of arrival, and no response, whatsoever. So basically, I lost a day of work, still have no transportation, and was just blown off. I have not been able to drive my car for over a month and told Phillip as much, I really needed this service. I have enlisted another company come search for and remove the tracker Phillip claims is the source of all my problems, but I would have been nice of him to at least say he could not make it, rather than have me lose an entire day of work for nothing. Will not use Fixmycar again or recommend to anyone.

Edit: I should have reached out to Phillip and Fixmycar before writing my review because, apparently there was a miscommunication in my appointment. Phillip did not intentionally ghost me. There was a mix-up between me, and another customer who had cancelled, that had the very same vehicle as mine. Fixmycar, did reach out to me and made things right. Phillip, who was very apologetic, showed up the very next day and worked on my car. He worked on my car until it was too late to see, but vowed to come back the next day, which he did. He tried everything he could to get my car working, and stated he would not give up until my car was started. He then told me after trying everything he knew should work, to call a locksmith because he was most certain now, that it was the key. I told him a previous locksmith said it was not the key, he said he was most certain it was, for some reason, I trusted his diagnosis and said okay I will call one. Phillip waited for the locksmith to arrive and stayed until a new key was made. Guess what? It was the key!!!!!!! The previous locksmith was wrong! I will say Phillip asked me initially about the key, and I told him what the locksmith previously told me. But after he tested my car in several ways, trying to find the tracker, then testing the starter, battery, etc. He concluded the key was indeed the issue and he was right! Let me not forget to mention, this he ended up doing for free, due to the mix-up the from the previous appointment. I now believe, Phillip is reliable and trustworthy and would use him in the future if needed.

Thanks also to Lauren for reaching out to me and helping to get things settled, you are the best!
