Customer Service HQ at Floors Today

We bought laminate flooring at Cambridge Floors Today. However, a problem arose with the flooring. Extremely disappointed by communications with customer service HQ at Floors Today. It seems that once the product has been sold there is no customer care for problems arising. We have left messages, emails a number of times with no reply. The phone has even been cut off a couple of times. Incredibly bad customer service. We do not recommend this company for their aftercare which is appalling. We are now sadly pursuing other options to get problem resolved. Amazed at lack of communication which would have gone a long way towards helping us. Simple and basic.

A big thank you to Nathan in the Cardiff branch for all his help as he was most helpful and would recommend floors today as we went to buy flooring and was very happy with what we bought and nothing was to much for them. And have recommended all ready to friends and a big thank you guys 😊😊and thank you to the guy who took the samples out by the door in natural light for use to see what it would look like 👌

Dont fall for the charm

Floor purchased but then apparently it would not be suitable for the house, would need to spend £350 to level floor. Then the floor may still not be suitable and could crack in weeks so was advised to purchase even more expensive hardwood flooring. After purchase was advised levelling cost would increase to £850. When we then decided to cancel because of excessive cost, apparently it could not be cancelled because it has been despatched and this is the policy of the company when orders are made in store but online you have 14 days to cancel. The policy was not discussed at time of purchase. Feels like fraud and violation of consumer rights. Avoid.

Swansea Enterprize Park - Steer well clear of this branch

Floors Today at Swansea have a really good sales gimmick – good for them but not the customer! We were looking for oak flooring and found exactly what we required at Swansea branch Floors Today. We chose the Royal Oak Herringbone flooring. We were informed that Floors Today kept no stock at their Swansea branch and that anything required would have to be “ordered in”- at no time were we told that we would be unable to return any surplus unopened boxes. In fact, we were advised to add a further 10% to the required amount of flooring in order to cover for wastage. We accepted the advice given by the salesperson at Floors Today Swansea Enterprise Park Branch. They were the professionals, were they not (?) We ordered what was required and paid an amount of £398.19. We were assured that we would receive a telephone call as soon as the materials were ready for collection and were given a firm collection date.
The given collection date came – and went - without the promised telephone call. However, we accepted that there may possibly have been a delay “somewhere along the line”. The following day came – and went - without a telephone call and so, on the third day we telephoned for a progress report on our order.
The reply we received was astounding! We were told that our order had been ready for collection on the date we had been given and that they had telephoned us and a message had been left. Our order may have been delivered to their premises on the given date but the statement regarding the telephone message was blatantly untrue. We have a telephone answering machine which is permanently switched on in order that, in the event that we are unable to reach our telephone in time – for whatever reason - we are always aware of who has phoned us, when they phoned us and, just as importantly, we can phone them back if necessary.
We had followed the instructions given by their salesperson, to the letter and they advised that 10% be added to the calculated floor area to allow for wastage. When our fitters had completed the work it was found that we had two unopened boxes of Vintage Herringbone Royal Oak flooring as surplus but we were sure that as the boxes were unopened we could return them. After all, the boxes were complete, unopened and undamaged.
Floors Today, Swansea Enterprise Park branch, refused to accept the return of these unopened boxes and gave several reasons for their refusal:-
1. We had not used their fitters and ours must have been more competent. If we had used their fitters there wouldn't have been so much left over and they would have accepted any unopened boxes. This statement does not reflect well on their confidence in their fitters (?) In fact, it is quite insulting to their fitters.
2. They don't hold stock and our requested flooring had to be ordered. If a company does not hold stock then surely everything has to be ordered for every customer. This, we regard as an excellent sales gimmick to boost their sales figures by at least 10%.
3. If they "accepted our unused flooring it would be sitting in their store room forever and a day" - unquote.

At no time was it explained to us that our unused materials would not be accepted under any returns policy. We now have two complete and unused packs sitting on our garage floor "forever and a day" at a cost to us of £55.08 per pack - which we would not have bought had it not been for the advice given to add a further 10% for wastage.

I am afraid that we could not, in all conscience, advise anyone to purchase flooring from this company. It's very disappointing but that is our experience.

Excellent service from start to finish

Excellent service from home measure, to selecting products and having floor fitted. Guys in Swansea store were very knowledgeable and guided us through everything. Now that the flooring is down, (carpets and wood flooring) we couldn't be happier. We have recommended to family who are due to complete on their new home.

This review is specifically for Anthony…

This review is specifically for Anthony at Newport (Gwent) branch. The company itself works in mysterious ways! (no room to store carpet in the warehouse?!) Having carpet delivered to my home and left in the living room Anthony came back the following evening and removed it to upstairs, luckily a fitter was available to fit the next day. So service from Anthony, the delivery and the fitters was great. Very happy with the end result. The company needs a re-think about the way it does things. Staff 4: Floors today 1

Rude, patronising and intimidating

I can honestly say I have never received such bad customer service from a company as I did at the Merthyr Tydfil branch. I spent over £200 in store, to be told they don’t offer delivery and to load the car myself with the laminate flooring. Website CLEARLY stated FREE DELIVERY on orders over £200. A member of staff then delivered the items for me after much debate on the issue in store. He delivered only some of the flooring. I was then told I would receive a phone call as soon as the vinyl tiles I ordered came into the store. Was also told I would receive a telephone call once the tiles were in to arrange a fitting. Month on and still no contact from floors today. I took it upon myself to chase this up with floors today. I was reassured that the tiles were in and the member of staff apologised for nobody contacting me and then arranged a date for the floor to be fitted. In the mean time I received a phone call from a fitter, confirming a fitting for a completely different date to what had been arranged over the phone. Floors today had me booked in for two different days. I rung the store to now complain, as I felt this service was poor and unorganised. I spoke with the store manager Damian, who had little to no personal skills. He was patronising, rude and intimidating. He stated that it was simply ‘human error!’ His arragont attitude was infuriating. The apology that was eventually offered was meaningless and not in the slightest bit sincere!! He even stated ‘what is it you want me to do?’
I have spent a lot of money at floors today, only to be treated with zero respect, and to have to do half of the work for them. I should not be chasing them up!
I have also rung customer services only to be passed from pillar to post, and told they don’t deal with complaints, gave me a number to which there was no answer. I then emailed floors today customer service, who have not responded to me either.
Do not waste your money in this store. Absolute shambles!!!

Can't fault the Sheffield branch

Can't fault the Sheffield branch. Dealt with Tony who was helpful, honest and went out of his way to ensure the solid wood flooring was delivered from another store to the timescale he promised. To top things he even delivered the flooring to my house on Friday evening when he finished work. Top bloke. Thanks very much.

AVOID

I arranged for a home consultation, they never turned up. I rang them and was told that the guy who arranged to call was on a day off. Tried ringing them again and it's easier to contact god. Customer service leaves something to be desired. AVOID!!! I wouldn't pay them in buttons.

I am honestly at my wits end and now…

I am honestly at my wits end and now going to try Trading standards for this absolutely disgusting way floors today have treated me. it has been one of the most stressful situations i have ever been through and i pray people read this and re consider using this company. believe me it is not worth it!

weeks and weeks and weeks after the initial order i am still living in a building site.

i cannot tell you everything that has gone wrong with this order as i need a book.

they are so nice on the phone to you and say they need to check with other members of staff but never ever ring you back, no matter how many times you ring, they fob you off without any care about the money you invested!!

the fitter made me feel like an after thought, numerous times i would be told a day ad a time and no show or show up 7 or 8 hours late, yes he would start at around 4 in the afternoon if he bothered to come.

he stated the cost was loads more than i was quoted for my floors today, a few hundred more, i paid extra and got damaged skirting boards for it and a lot more extra work as he couldn't rush the job enough as he had more important jobs to go to he would say, he would moan the whole time

i was quoted for and paid for top of the range carpet and under flooring, they tried to send me an absolute disgrace of a carpet, a cheap of the chap off cut and expected me not to notice? for this i am still now having to manage without anything on the stairs and dangerous spikes of the carpet grippers sticking into my feet.

the communication is appalling

when i asked was the fitter dbs checked the worker at the store had no idea what on earth i was talking about!!! crazy isn't it.

oh and yes was assured my under lay was top of the range and i'd hear nothing downstairs it was so good, they never sent any, i paid for it but was told i didn't need it after all, my lvt was sufficent and it's been brushed over every since, no refund nothing!!!

when i questioned why i was being charged 100's more than quoted for they told me in store as a good will gesture they would take money out of the till to pay the fitter for the extra work.... yeah right!

i give in, i am fed up of phoning, i am getting no where at all and its approaching xmas and this should have been finished ages and ages ago now

i pity anyone who buys off them and trusts them, they are lovely and responsive until the money is exchanged

when i said i felt i had no option but to contact trading standards 'oh well' was my response.

i honestly could go on and on this isnt half of it
stay away! unprofessional waste of time. head office never answer the phone, i am suprised they are getting away with this

Went to Floors Today’s Sheffield branch…

Went to Floors Today’s Sheffield branch and dealt with Tony. Over the moon with our Salon flooring. He came out promptly to measure and assured us we would be all up and running to complete the rest of our move. The fitting was even done earlier than planned and our Salon now looks ready to move in. His advice and service were second to none and the fitter was great. Really do recommend these guys if you need any flooring. Thanks to Tony.

Got ripped off

Got ripped off! They sold me a vinyl floor at a good price a 'deal' as it was a quiet day? when the fitter came he said he couldn't lay the floor without levelling it- something the guy in the shop ensured me was not an issue! I was refused a refund, which forced me to exchange the LVT for carpet of same value only this time no deal, full price- very expensive carpet for the size of the room. So I ended up paying a ridulous amount on a carpet I didn't want. To top it off they took 3 weeks to order and fit the carpet, making it over a month in total. Terrible experience. Very unhappy. will never go back. AVOID!!

I would definitely avoid this company…

I would definitely avoid this company at all costs. I purchased vinyl flooring from the Swansea(Llansamlet) branch on Weds 30.10.19 & fitting was arranged for Tues 5.11.19 being told that the fitter would be with me late morning/early afternoon & would ring me prior to attending. At 3pm after still waiting I rang the store to be told I most probably wouldn't be having it fitted that day now due to the appt not being added to the diary by Cameron (who incidentally served me with my purchase! Also the attitude on the staff member I spoke to was terrible especially when I told him I wanted to cancel my order & wanted a refund. Incidentally after I went over to the store the staff members attitude changed & he was apologetic in all fairness (hence me giving a one star rating). I havnt had a refund yet as I did not have my receipt with me but I can honestly say I will never ever buy from this company again😠 Customer Service is out of the window on this one😠

Visited the Swansea store having been…

Visited the Swansea store having been let down by another online supplier. Callum, was available in store and offered advice on flooring, even going to the lengths of assembling an area of floor so that we could get a better idea of the finished product. The team were on hand to offer advice on underlay and accessories.

Delivery was prompt, within around six hours. The flooring is now fitted and looks amazing. Thanks
