PLAY airlines 

We used Play Air to travel to New York with a stopover in Reykjavik and found all four flights easy to navigate and reliable. The cabin crew were professional and courteous.

One of the best things about the airline for me personally, was the gender diversity of both cabin crew and Captain/First Officers. This was the first time I’d had a female Captain. Loved that!

I've flown with Play 4 times and everything has always gone well. On this trip, I needed ice to put on my knee because I sprained it, and the flight crew helped me. I can't comment on the food and beverage service because I've never tried it and I usually bring it with me. The plane has comfortable seats, good headrests, and plenty of legroom (at least mine fit). So far, I have no complaints.

No delays, jet bridges available at both airports, and a courteous, non-intrusive cabin crew. Overall, a great experience

general service was ok, but was ruined by a rude staff in Vilnius airport checkin. He did not believe that i couldn't check in online, made inappropriate comments. I was short on time (which was stressful enough) but was able to replicate an error on my phone and showed him to check me in on the counter. He had no interest to help me, had to figure it out myself and suggest workaround solutions.

Great airline for a low cost European company. We appreciate the extra help from the staff, at the airport and in-flight, whenever we need. The seats are good, no extras like screens means cheaper tickets, which suits us. And they never, ever cheat with luggages and weight like other low cost companies do.

Great flights and a very good price for the Flex option. We have flown BWI - Stanstead multiple times and I sm sorry Play is ending their USA flights next October.

Fine no issues in site

My experience with Play was terrible. I highly recommend to not use them ever. I was unable to add a luggage to my booking online and then had to pay the absurd amount of 110 euros for a bag of 10 kilos. Then I asked their customer service for a refund of the extra charge for adding it in the airport since I had tried several times online. But they had all these ridiculous clauses that meant that all their extra services are non-refundable. So I didn’t get my money back. Terrible and very expensive experience

Everything is well done. The price is good

The only negative thing I'd mention is that airport staff pushed me to put on all my dress because I had it in my pack, which is kidding for sure (note, I moved from Iceland to Spain)

Fake play, and chear that's broken

Much better than other European low-cost airlines. Especially the boarding process was very quickly, smoothly and professional. Aircraft crew was friendly and professional. Also the stop-over in Iceland was well arranged and there was enough, but not too much time to make the transfer.

Everything good. Nothing to complain about

Overall terrible experience with one caveat. Jan 2025, I took a flight from BWI to Amsterdam with a layover in Iceland. Long story short, first flight was delayed and I missed my 2nd leg of trip. Per Play Airlines policy, hotel accommodations, food, transportation were reimbursable until next available flight. Fast forward Aug 2025, I am still waiting for my claims payment. Communication is very poor and generic. Services are extremely slow.

Terrible experience with Play Airlines – Paid for seats twice

We paid extra to select our seats for both inbound and outbound flights. Then Play Airlines changed the aircraft, which removed our original seat selections — even though we had already paid for them.

When check-in opened, we weren’t automatically assigned equivalent seats, nor were we notified about the change. Instead, we were prompted to pay again if we wanted to select our seats.

So essentially, we paid twice for a service we never received properly. No communication, no refund, no solution. Just a shrug from customer support and another upsell.

Really disappointing experience. Be careful when booking with Play — you’re paying for things they might take away without notice.
