Book is well written and evokes the time so well. It captures the spirit of the times and the difficulties, tension, and fear that the combatants felt together with the swirl of emotions he felt. The photographs add to the writing and enhance the the enjoyment. The book is produced and presented to the extremely high standard of the society's offerings and adds the whole experience.

The care that has been taken with the production of this volume of Michael Herr's landmark work on the Vietnam War increases its pertinence with photos and illustrations. Furthermore, the obvious care that has been taken in the design and presentation of the volume compliments the highly susinct language and empathetic reportage Mr Herr brought to his writings about the human face of this conflict.
