Product details
Stranded in a damp cave on prehistoric Earth (specifically, what will one day be Islington), Arthur Dent is suddenly hurled through an eddy in the space–time continuum. He lands, with Ford Prefect and a sofa, on Lords Cricket Ground – swiftly followed by a gang of robots who steal the Ashes before departing. From there, things only become more complicated as we encounter Arthur’s nemesis, Agrajag, the unhappily immortal Wowbagger the Infinitely Prolonged, and the people of Krikkit, ‘a bunch of sweet guys … who just happen to want to kill everybody’.

Amazing edition of the HGttG, bought as a present for our son and working towards all five books of the trilogy. He's loving both the book(s) and the illustrations. The paper quality is excellent and overall I'd say, the edition is just what Douglas Adams' master work deserves!

As written in my overall review, the series of this books differ in appearance, and while each book is fine as a standalone, they look silly as a series since they are differently produced: Cover more or less shiny, slipcases square or curved and different height). No information about this beforehand, and definitely not what I expected. I wouldn't have bought them or at least not at this time if I had known this, and I still don't get it, since it's all about beautiful appearance at Folio Society. Which was also the reason for chosing them. Now it looks like 4+1 books.

I love the book, and I think it is both high quality and a good value. What I am upset about is that Folio Society KNEW that I was buy this book, and the others in the series, KNOWING that they were going to release a special edition in just a few weeks. I want that special edition, and would have held off on this purchase had I known the better option would be available soon. I am actually very turned off on Folio Society because of this.

This book is more beautiful in person than I could have ever expected. The pictures on the website do not capture the depth of design and color of the outer board covers and slipcase color. The book sparkles in the light. A handsome edition to anyone who is a fan of the Trilogy of Five books or Douglas Adams.
