Being a fan of Asian mythology, I've discovered Sun Wukong in a Chinese video game and thus wanted to know more about his story. Monkey happened before the Journey to the West and the illustrations are marvelous! Thank you again to provide us high quality book!

I thought this was the first of the four volumes in W. J. F. Jenner’s translated version. I was caught by surprise when it turned out to be Arthur Waley’s translated version. His translated version is thought to be the earliest English edition to ever be published. While not entirely faithful, omitting many chapters, it is more suited for beginner readers. I have always wanted to make my Journey to the West collection in faithful English translations vast and extensive in my library collection.
