This is my favourite Folio yet and the value is extraordinary. The illustrations are really well aligned to the eerie and 'not quite right' feeling of the Zone. Absolutely stunning. More Strugatsky works please!

This book, so often over looked in the west, is an amazing piece of science fiction that highlights life in what is an increasingly distant past while being written in such a way and grappling with questions that remain relevant. I discovered Road Side Picnic in adulthood and it has become one of my favorite books. This edition captures the essence of the work and compliments its beautiful words with art work and layout design to match it. Price to entry is steep (as with all Folio Society editions), but it does transform the experience if you are a tactile person. Quality is excellent.

Excellent. Already own a masterworks copy, but being a favourite, thought I'd treat myself to a special edition and I wasn't disappointed. I didn't realise Folio had this in but saw it when I was looking for a Christmas present and added it to my basket. My only regret is I couldn't afford to get one of the signed copies at the time.

Book is an all time sci Fi classic. The illustrations are wild and match the uncertainty and chaos of the setting. Gave 4 stars for value because while it is a well bound beautiful book, I could have gotten a paperback for far cheaper. Luxury =/= value!
