This is a superb edition of a powerful novel. The illustrations are perfect for the book and enhance the reader’s pleasure immeasurably. This is a depressing read overall, but the brilliance of McCarthy’s writing makes this dismal story exciting, moving, and, at the end, oddly optimistic. As usual, the Folio edition is a beautiful book.
