Beautifully bound but the illustrations and minimalist cover design were disappointing. The art is monotone and ominously green-tinged, I found not to be in keeping with Banks' fantastically imaginative, colorful worlds. Some important details of the illustrated scenes and characters are also noticeably inconsistent with written descriptions. While the story is an absolute masterpiece and the production is of great quality, I hope for future Banks editions they go in a different direction with visual design. That said, I'm happy to have these on my shelf and look forward to more Banks.

two volumes of the Folio Society on my shelves: manufacture to the highest standards. same for the service: my regards to the team. painfully high prices. illustrations not to my taste (in fact I could have done without any). products obviously aiming at the gift market. My preference would be some plainer, more subdued appearance, at the same level of craftsmanship.

Folio have knocked out of of the park with the cultrue series Daniel Taylor's illustrations are breathtaking 3 down 7 to go I'm sure the late Iain M Banks would be proud Well done Folio

Delighted to see Iain M. Banks third Culture novel - I can only hope that the Folio Society will continue with his Culture novels (hint, hint!) and publish the entire series. FS always produces beautiful books, and Use of Weapons is no exception.

£100!!!???? I bought the Folio Consider Phlebas for £65, then Player of Games last year for £85, now not only is Use of Weapons £100, but they've upped the price for all of them to £100! Totally ripping us off. Not cool Folio Society. Not cool, and the last time I buy from you as you clearly don't respect your customers.
