Iphone8 battery replacement failure.

Used during lockdown as it was the only place available as they were working from home. New battery for iPhone8. Nothing but trouble since. Been returned to their workshop 3 times in two months, same answers of there is nothing wrong. Phone continued to crash with Erratic drop of power, and now won’t even charge or turn on.
Ask to have the battery removed and for a refund, but was declined, however offered the option to book it into their workshop again, 4th time lucky.... No thanks.
Save yourself the hassle and use Apple for all repairs. Only £49 for a new battery from genuine Apple centre.
Will never use or recommend this company.

Poor quality repair, phone is now broken worse than before

I took my OnePlus 6T for a rear case replacement earlier this year, the initial interactions and service provided was fine, friendly staff and what looked to be a good quality repair.

Less than a week later the back case had cracked, without being dropped or subjected to anything more than normal use. I took the phone back to Fone Doctor in meadowhall with my receipt but was told a manager would need to be in to make a decision on any refunds or replacing the case again.

I made several attempts to call and visit the store to catch a manager to resolve my issue, it wasn't until some months later, by which point my back case had completely disintegrated and was being held together only by the phone cover I had placed on it.

When I did see the manager he said well how do I know you haven't dropped it, it's out of warranty if damaged. I pointed out that when my original back glass cover broke it had shattered but was still intact, and that the case they used to repair my phone was in at least 20 pieces and had separated form the rest of the device, leaving sharp shards of glass loose which I would consider dangerous and unacceptable.

I would recommend you avoid these cowboys like the plague with their low quality products and poor customer service and aftercare attitude.

4 Months and counting!

The Grantham store has had my phone since July and all I need is an insurance report that says that the phone is damaged and in need of repair.(I have already paid the shop for the report). The phone is visibly smashed and is also water damaged - I would consider this 30 minutes work at most! It is now the end of November and I still have no report + they cannot currently locate my phone!!! I have never dealt with a company that operates soooo bad - If I could, I would give it 0 Stars if that were possible :( Very disappointed.
EDIT (After their reply) I did not ask for a report stating the phone was irreparable, I asked for a report that stated you could not guarantee the length of operation due to water damage - Please don't peddle lies to cover up your shoddy operation. I have been in to the shop and was given your Email address which I have tried multiple times to no avail... They gave me the head office Email because they were embarrassed on my behalf! And rightly so.

Hi Ian. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. However, we feel that your comments are missing some important details that need clarifying. An insurance report was provided to you which indicated the repairs that were needed. You then asked us to adjust the insurance report to state that the phone was beyond repair. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide you with an insurance report stating this as the phone is repairable. To willingly provide a report that stated as such would be insurance fraud. This would mean our employees would be committing a criminal offence. Hopefully, you can see why we were unable to provide an insurance report which stated that your phone is beyond repair now and why the original report still stands. Furthermore, to confirm, your phone is still in the Grantham store ready for you to collect. We have attempted to notify you multiple times that your phone is ready to collect but have yet to hear a response to the matter. You’re welcome to visit our Grantham store at any time to collect your device.

A 3-5 day fix took OVER A MONTH

So a 3-5 day fix took over a month, no one seemed to know what was happening or what they were doing, I'm pretty sure they broke part of the phone while trying to repair it and they tried charging me extra. Plus if they break your phone while repairing it, they don't replace it, they just charge you extra.

Gave my iPhone X to FoneDoctor to get my camera repaired.
They ordered the rear camera part and told me to come back in a few days when the part has arrived to drop off my phone.

When I dropped off my phone a few days later I was told it would take 3-5 days to fix and they'd call me when it was ready to pick up.

First they ring me to tell me one of the screws in my phone has been stripped, meaning that in order to open up the phone they will have to force it which has a possibility of breaking the screen. If this happened then I WOULD HAVE TO PAY MORE to have the broken screen repaired. My phone has never been repaired before, therefore any damage to the screws and such MUST have been done by them however they would not admit to it.

In the end, I gave them permission to force it open as I literally had no other choice and thankfully it didn't break it any further.

They then contacted me again about a week later to tell me that the problem is actually with the front camera not the back camera. so they'd have to order the new part and then fit it.
A few days later I went back, they told me the part had arrived and they would be fitting it as soon as they returned from lunch.

Another week past and I went back and was told the part probably arrived on the friday, and they don't work weekends so it would most likely be fixed on the monday. Annoying after I was told the week before it would be fixed after their lunch break.

I finally received the phone back OVER A MONTH after giving it to them and they tried charging me again for the repair costs until I told them that I'd already paid it all.

I would have given 1 star but the customer service advisor who I spoke to most was very nice and friendly and seemed to be the only person who actually seemed to know what she was doing. (Thanks Sophie)

BUYER BEWARE!!

BUYER BEWARE!!

I took my iphone X phone in as I had broken the back. It was inspected, checked and taken for repair which cost £200.

My first warning was when they called me to ask whether I was aware there was a hairline crack on the front of the phone - I wasn't and told them. I said it has been inspected and wasn't picked up and they said they would sort ...

I picked up my phone later that day and the hairline crack was pointed out - they fixed it with a protective glass on the front of the phone! They put the glass on whilst I was there, put the phone in a protective case. I let it slide and walked away. However, within 24 hours the back had cracked again for no apparent reason. I gave them a call and they said for me to come into the shop which I did on my first available day when I was working from home.

I went back and was informed that they would not accept the crack being their fault even though it hadn't been dropped and had been in a protective case. They said there was a mark on the bottom of the phone (which incidentally was were I dropped it last time and the back cracked). They are telling me I need to pay to have this repair done again!!!!!! I don't have the confidence to go back to them and for them not to do another shoddy job where my phone cracks the back again and they claim it isn't their fault - utter rubbish in terms of customer service and quality of work.

DO NOT EVER USE THESE PEOPLE THEY ARE DISHONEST AND DO NOT DO A GOOD JOB OF REPAIR

Treat customers like s@@t.

Took a working phone in for new screen.
Phone would not work when I got it back started ghosting.
Paid another £10 for them to investigate but they refused to investigate because they said the screen was damaged. Damage is not visible to human eye but Luke at the doncaster store gladly sprayed it with fluid and showed me a micro mark on the screen
I have emailed 4 times complaining and written twice all ignored by the company.

Do not touch this company with a barge pole

Hi Tony. Thank you for your review. We understand from investigating this issue that your phone was found to be suffering from a crack underneath the screen. We apologise for the amount of time it took to reach back in touch with you however I understand that your screen has since been replaced.

Terrible service

Terrible service. Got my screen changed on iPhone 6S 5 weeks ago and now Touch ID not working and screen not responding. Took it back as they have a 1 year warranty and told it isn't covered as the battery is to blame. Refused to do anything and ended up going to another shop that changed the screen and all working now. Terrible, terrible company. Avoid the Sheffield Meadowhall store and a the manager Kyle at all costs. Utter rip off.

Hi there. Thank you for your review. Generally, we would expect to see errors with the screen and Touch ID in a matter of days rather than 5 weeks after a screen change. This is because the screen and Touch ID errors typically present themselves immediately. As such, any further faults have a higher chance of being caused by external or previously undiscovered errors. This is the likely reason that our team at Meadowhall attributed the error to the battery rather than our repair.

iPhone charger…

My son bought an iPhone charger from here which then broke after a month. Tried to get a refund as they sold with 12 months warranty. Was told he broke the wire, and no refund!
Went to the apple shop and advised the wire was fake. Then had to go back after telling them it was fake, finally got refund.

Hi Jo. Thank you for your review. Looking into your case it appears that the damage to the charger was in the wire. Generally, this is caused from mishandling (i.e. twisting the wire, curling it up, disconnecting by pulling at the wire rather than the connectors etc.). Damage of this kind typically falls outside of any warranty. We do not understand why you have been advised that the data lead was fake, as all our Apple products carry the certified “Made for Apple” badge.
