Walking tour in Bath with George

We done a walking tour in Bath. The communication was excellent from the beginning. We were travelling on trains so we made the tour operators aware of this just in case we were running late on arrival. We were on time and met George exactly where we were instructed. George is an excellent tour guide. He was very informative with the right amount of details but not too much to bore you. He took us to every landmark we needed to see. We were completely happy with what we got for what we paid. The only disappointment we have is we didn't get to say goodbye and thank you. We lost you George in the end because we stopped to look at a shop window. We understand you had to get the other people to the Roman Baths by a specific time whereas we weren't doing that. Thank you George. We definitely recommend Footprints tours 100%.

Private Tour of Oxford a real disappointment

We booked the 4 hour Private Tour of Oxford and Colleges with Footprints Tours at a very expensive rate of £399. The itinerary indicated we would see the Bodleian Library and the Radcliffe Camera, both of which were highlights for us, as well as Christ Church College. We stood outside both the BOD and Radcliffe Camera buildings and did not go inside and did not go to Christ Church. We were told NO ONE gets into the Radcliffe, however we later found out this is untrue - tours can be booked and we assumed our visit included going inside. Our guide mentioned a few times that he, representing Footprints Tours, wasn't allowed into certain colleges or particular locations. I believe there may be a poor relationship between this tour company and Oxford University. The itinerary was misleading and we felt particularly deceived by Footprints Tours. I contacted the company with my concerns after the tour and have not heard back. I do not recommend this company.

Deceptive marketing

Deceptive marketing – Footprint Tours is not official Oxford tourist information

Footprint Tours is operating under the misleading name “Oxford Tourist Information,” which is not only dishonest but potentially a breach of UK consumer law.

They present themselves as if they are the official or city-endorsed tourism centre, but in reality, they are a private tour company selling only their own tours. There is no impartial advice, no brochures from other tour providers, and no genuine tourist information — just a sales front disguised as a public service.

This kind of misrepresentation appears to violate the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, which prohibit businesses from falsely implying official status. Visitors unfamiliar with Oxford are likely to trust this branding and be misled into thinking they are getting neutral advice. They’re not.

If you’re visiting Oxford, be aware: Footprint Tours is NOT the official tourist information centre. This kind of practice undermines trust and should be addressed by Trading Standards.

Don’t book!

Don’t book!
We were a little to late because no easy parking and no space nearby….
There was no info about parking in the email in front .
At the store where the meeting point was.
There was a guy who said that there wasn’t a Harry Potter tour today.
And that we needed to contact.
So I did… and he told me that he called Etc …
But he didn’t because I didn’t had a missing call or message on my phone and wasn’t help full at all.
We came a long way for this (the Netherlands)
Now we did visited all spots it self .
But I think it’s rubbish to say to people that it’s not your problem…
We were a the store and said the problem and even the guy at store did not know anything and was it’s first day!

Soooo hello… are we mad about yes…
We want a refund !

A walk well done in Oxford

We had a wonderful tour with a very accommodating guide, who was also very knowledgeble about the city's history and the different colleges. I would recommend Footprint tours to others.

The company doesn't bother responding

I sent a query via the Footprints web site. A response asking for more details which looked an automated one arrived promptly. I provided more details and that was it. No one responded one way or another. Don't bother wasting your time with these guys.
