Used to be great, not so much now.
Update: In the past two weeks, this service has really gone downhill badly. Support takes literally days to respond, IMAP is broken, SMTP is down...it's just unusable at this point.
I have been using this service for years and am very disappointed to see it go downhill so fast.
Best email service for family domain owners
As a software engineer who owns both business and family domains. Forward Email solved my problems in an elegant way.

Service decent - support is lacking
The service overall is pretty good, but support seems non-existent so far even on the enhanced protection paid plan.
I am liking everything so far with how the "product" works for the most part. However, I am having an issue with connecting to a pop3 alias. I opened a support ticket and haven't heard anything in nearly 30 hours.
EDIT: 3/26/2024: They did finally answer me and got this working.
EDIT: 4/11/2024 - My Pop3/Imap emails have been down since last night. I hope that I have not lost any emails. I really thought these guys had something good going here but now I'm not so sure. I'm close to asking for a refund and moving on.
Update: 4/16/2024 - They did mitigate the issue and emails seem to be working well again. It took close to 24 hours but I'm guessing they didn't catch the issue at night. Probably a one-man or small-team operation, which isn't all bad. I am going to update my review to 4 stars. The service they offer is good for the price. If they had better support I would consider 5 stars.

Amazing Email Service
If you want a secure, affordable, and open-source way to manage email forwarding and outgoing SMTP sending, ForwardEmail.net is worth checking out.
• Unlimited domains: Perfect for keeping costs down if you manage multiple emails.
• Quick setup: They use fancy tech to make sure your emails are delivered quickly and reliably.
• Open-source for trust: Self explanatory, open-source is the best.
• Outgoing emails: ForwardEmail.net lets you send emails (SMTP) up to 300 per day.
• No limits: Add as many domains and aliases as you need.
• Great for automation: Webhooks let you connect your email to other apps and tools.
The setup may be a bit more involved than other providers, but it is a seriously good option if you care about privacy, flexibility, and saving money on email. Can't recommend their service enough!
Free? Not free, fake!
Free? Nope, that's just click bait and then they try to sell their services. And there's no visible way to delete the account. Not honest!

great and cheap service

I only use their forwarding service and…
I only use their forwarding service and it's so much more reliable to what I had before and gives me one central point to configure my email forwards.
Amazing service
Amazing service, easy to use and a full email platform that's truly open source.
Reliable service with great support
I have been using Forwardemail.net since I first heard about it on Hacker News in 2020. The service had a bit of a rough start, but that's to be expected from an e-mail service. I know from first-hand experience how hard it is to run and maintain a mailserver.
It is amazing how much progress this service has made in such a short time. It is extremely reliable and useful. The premium plans are very cheap for what they offer, it's simply a great deal!
Support is always very friendly and helpful. Usually quite quick with the replies as well.
I have and I will continue recommending Forwardemail.net to anyone who needs e-mail services.
Why I'm All In for $3 Unlimited Emails
Switching to this $3/month deal for unlimited emails was a no-brainer. Before, I was dishing out $5 per email with other services, and it just didn't add up, especially when you need more than one address. This plan gives me all the emails I want for way less, plus 10 GB of secure storage. It works on all my devices and supports all the techy email stuff I need.
A truly excellent service
ForwardEmail is a unique and excellent system. It's friendly, affordable, and feature-loaded. There are regular upgrades and new feature additions, and support-responses are quick and on-point. It's a service the internet desperately needs, and I hope they stay around forever!
The support team is excellent
The support team is excellent. They are very responsive and their suggestions are well considered and effective. Their knowledgebase is also excellent with well written articles that walk you through the problem.
Great essential email service for custom domains and gmail integration
With the demise of google domains, I've been looking for a replacement setup to coordinate email for websites I run such that I can use gmail as my actual mail application seamlessly with custom domains.
I tried a variety of options that fell short in one way or another; many had a lot of false advertising.
Forward email has a free option that's pretty good, and their "enhanced" option for $3/mo is 100% worth the upgrade.
Great, fast support and our emails getting delivered
After a couple of months of the system working as intended, I received a report from a monitoring service that indicated my SPF record was out of compliance due to too many DNS lookups. ForwardEmail.net's tech support responded very quickly and had solutions immediately – in fact, more than one – and I am back in compliance. This is incredibly confidence inspiring. Very happy with the service and support (in my case a paid account, running two domains).
Outstanding Service and Support
I'm extremely impressed with ForwardEmail's service and customer support. Despite being on a free plan, they quickly and effectively resolved an issue I encountered. Their proactive communication and transparency, including a GitHub reference to the fix, are truly commendable. For anyone in need of a reliable and effective email forwarding solution, I can't recommend ForwardEmail enough!
powerful features & support
I have been in the market for a while looking to have more flexibility in splitting my domain emails by regex. Forwarding to free Gmail did not quite cut it as they require the plus sign and many websites disallow addresses with it. Used to even run some server in the basement to handle my needs but that required occasional debugging. Pretty good support! , non of the usual "we'll pass it on to our developers" boilerplate but actually paying attention, debugging and fixing the issues (need to remember to initiate request on website)
Amazing Support
What an amazing company. I had an issue and they were on it immediately. Very friendly and understood the issues immediately. Turned out they needed to put a patch in place, so they let me know what they were doing an would be back to me "soon". Less than 20 minutes later they emailed and said it was fixed and it was! The service works great and there a ton of features an options that really make this worth while.
Easy to use, advanced options, great customer support, great price
The interface is easy to use, but advanced features are there if you need them. The service works great and is well-documented. Tech support is very fast if you need it. The cost is among the cheapest I've seen for this type of service. If you really want to nerd out, they provide lots of technical details on their stack that makes me feel very comfortable that they know what they're doing.
