Freenom is just another scam company.

- Suspends free domains when they are getting well promoted and demands to pay for those "free" domains in order to restore them.
- Suspends even paid domains without any reason and doesn't give money back.
- Used to suspend any domains without any actual reason, even those where site content was completely legit and innocent in all the means.
- Tech support never replies any questions.
- Logs traffic and sells particular data to ads companies.
- Was involved in cybersquatting until was forced by authorities to stop this activity (there are corresponding documents about that available in Internet).

Freenom is the most unsatisfying company I've ever encountered.

Freenom is the most unsatisfying company I've ever encountered.

I'm running a hosting company that also provides free, but small, hosting packages (1GB storage). We wanted to set up free domains for our customers, and that's the part where we needed Freenom. We didn't use CloudFlare for DNS management, so we had no other choice left.

We signed up in the reseller program of Freenom. Therefore, we now have access to Freenom's Reseller API. The first confusion occurred when we tried out the API. "FREE domain registrations by API are not supported." We took a closer look at the API documentation and found out nothing about this restriction.

Hence, we contacted Freenom support. The only thing they answered is, "It is not possible to register free domains through the API or WHMCS module." Very unsatisfying, considering that they advertise their free domains everywhere on their website. They have a "FREE" option in their API, which only throws the error I already mentioned above.

Overall, lousy customer/reseller experience. Misleading and straight out liars about their reseller program.

Suspended all my domains

Suspended all my domains i've had for 4 years + and they wouldn't even answer me to fix the problem or explains exactly what I did wrong. So for now i'd say it's better to avoid it, it was nice as long as it lasted.

They stole ALL of my domains

They stole ALL of my domains. Support staff (2 of them) *abused* me in the support ticket, they were not helpful at all, and did not answer any of my questions. It must also be a nice place to work there. Once their €3m funding runs out they will go bankrupt, and it will be a good riddance!

They will delete your domain.

Yes, the free tld domains are only on Freenom, but they're simply stupid. They just delete your domain and you can't register it again. If it's not popular they will delete it, and if it is, they will still delete it. How can you trust Freenom and how can you pay them (if you would want for example to buy a .com domain for them)? Freenom is a huge scam, do not try. You should buy a domain from a safe place.

Absolutely Absurd Policies

Freenom can pull your domain, without any notice, at anytime, for any reason, even if it’s completely absurd and when requested for the reason they refuse to provide one. Apparently a company that sells web hosting is somehow causing issues? I don’t really understand that..

Even more insane is the fact I’ve got a paid Domain with them, and I’m seriously hesitating to renew it, if they can suspend it for no reason whatsoever and refuse to even give an optturnity to rectify the ‘issue’.

Free Domains For Everyone with Suspension once gets popular!

I appreciate that they provide domains for free but...

They suspend free domains that has become popular! Freenom, aren't you merciful? You just put an end to a site that has put lots of great effort in to get a lot of traffic! 😡

Don't you even care about others? The company is too selfish.... 😑

Freenom support is also bad, prefer to be lately replied than not being replied! I have contacted them and they never answer back!
It was from 3-5 months ago, isn't it insane?

Dear Freenom Team,
I have a quote for you:
"Self absorbed people only think about what makes them feel good at the moment - they don't have any respect or regard for anyone else. Then they wonder why their relationships fail."
This quote is by Unknown

I Love and Hate Freenom at the same time!

This company is a fraud

This company is a fraud, be careful. They hide illegal activities behind free anonymous domain registrations. They never reply back or take action on any of the illegal phishing sites they hide. The abuse [@] freenom.com and copyright [@] freenom.com, are only for decoration as they never reply back to any queries or requests for investigation. Avoid at any cost!!
