I have been using the services of FromJapan for a few years now since I found out about it in 2023 and haven’t experienced any problems.
But there was a minor technical issue 4 months ago for one specific order where I couldn’t instruct international shipping as usual.
Therefore I have contacted the customer service and they have helped me accordingly.
The customer representative answered my inquiry emails properly and patiently.
It took about 3 months to be fixed, but after that I could arrange international shipping for that order.
While it is being fixed, they have kept all my items in that order that is well past 60-days storage period, without disposing them and without any extra charge for storage, which I’m very thankful for!
FromJapan customer service is very helpful and friendly.
I would like to recommend FromJapan to anyone who would like to shop goodies from Japan.
I hope FromJapan and their customer service could also do more for their customers in the future.

I have always been using One Map by FROM JAPAN over other proxy services due to their good user interface and reasonable fees. However, what really solidify my trust in them is due to their exemplary assistance to resolve the issue where I received a counterfeit item from a Mercari seller. I understand that many proxy services do not cover refund for counterfeit items, and I was ready to accept the loss since it is not covered under One Map's Protection Plan. To my surprise, One Map went above and beyond to help to pursue the case with Mercari and seek for a refund (and I do not even need to ship the counterfeit item back to the seller).
This positive experience really made One Map a much trustworthy proxy service compared to others in the market.

I feel that users should be given an option to refund to credits instead of a refund that causes us the customer to lose money over currency exchange. This is a lose lose situation and benefits nobody but credit card companies.
You need to rethink your business and finance for users, its not that hard.

Exactly what i mean , you don't have a way for users to top up and store currencies , and you happily refund a few days later after currency fluctuation. It's not my bank fault , its your fault for no being fast enough and not giving users enough options. Stop gaslighting yourself and make your service better instead.

SCAM & BLACKMAIL: They hold my items and money!Do not use One Map (From Japan)
Do not use One Map (From Japan). They are using abusive practices and blackmail. My package was returned to them due to a carrier error. Even though I paid over 200,000 JPY for my items, they refused to reship and forced me to pay AGAIN by credit card, bypassing PayPal protection.The worst part: they sent me a formal email threatening to DESTROY my luxury items (Tiffany, etc.) if I didn't pay their "penalties" by March 30th. This is pure extortion. After I disputed the charges, they blocked my account to prevent me from accessing my invoices.
I have already won my first dispute via PayPal, and a bank chargeback is ongoing for the rest (206,000 JPY). They are not a proxy service; they are scammers who hold your property hostage. Stay away!
P.S.Your explanation is false.
1.No "Import Restrictions": The items were luxury goods (Tiffany/Chanel) legally purchased in Japan. There are NO restrictions for these items. The return happened ONLY because your partner (FedEx) failed to process the customs clearance in France despite me providing all the necessary broker information.
2.Illegal Customs Fees: You charged me Japanese import duties for a RETURNED shipment. Under international law, goods returned to their country of origin are not subject to new import duties. You used this as a pretext to extort more money.
3.The "Destruction"Threat: You conveniently ignored the fact that you sent me a formal ultimatum (from "Jess") threatening to DESTROY my property if I didn't pay your "fees" via credit card.
4.Blocking Access: You blocked my account so I cannot access my own invoices to provide to my bank.
If you truly want to resolve this, stop hiding behind "official channels" and refund the remaining 206,391 JPY that you forced me to pay by credit card under duress. Until then, the bank chargeback for extortion will continue.

Never had a bad experience with FromJapan but recently had an amazing experience with top tier customer service. I had bought a big item that wouldn’t fit into the cheaper shipping method originally. after a long but productive discussion with Jun, We agreed that the parcel could be repacked for it to be slightly cheaper but not expecting it to be within limits for this cheaper shipping method. I wake up today and check, and the very efficient warehouse staff managed to get it down to 29.85KG (limit was 30KG). Legendary is the only word i can use to describe these people. I wouldnt get better customer service anywhere else.

I have been a platinum customer with 'From Japan' for 3 years. The product range is absolutely fantastic once you learn how to work the shopping mall search strings effectively. They have an incredible selection of Japanese items to search that you would struggle to find elsewhere.
The packing was extremely careful and thoughtful. Every item was securely wrapped and protected, with extra padding where needed, so everything arrived in perfect condition with no damage at all.
The customer service staff are genuinely helpful and responsive. They answered my questions quickly and went the extra mile to make sure I had all the information I needed.
Shipping rates are very reasonable compared to other international sellers and especially against auction houses, who can heavily over charge for the same service.
My advice is be realistic as to what it is you're expecting from a proxy service and you can't go wrong with 'From Japan'. Don't go to buy a 2 metre item and then expect the shipping to be $15. You're buying into a service that is constrained by the courier charges it uses and shipping calculators are there to give you an idea of potential costs before you commit.
Overall, a fantastic experience from start to finish. Highly recommended.

With Automatic Bots already handling most of the orders from various websites, what took those workers so long (more than 1 hour) to just order 5 simple items from Suruga-ya???
