Forced to spend money for a cancelled order.
Encountered a horrible experience making me regret a purchase with FJ. Seller on Mercari cancelled my order because they do not deal with foreignors. Instead of reversing payment for refund to get back the exact amount I spent, I was refunded at a worse-off exchange rate making me lose money. The timing seems deliberate. In the end I spent money without getting anything in return. Buyers should have been given the option to be refunded in alternative methods like credits, points or coupons. This is an option available by other proxies to avoid exchange rate loss. I'm now very disappointed.
Until FJ updates the refund process by giving options, I can’t rate this service any better.

A buyer from Thailand
I always buy or auction products from One Map by From Japan. In the past 4-5 years, it's convenient. There are many products to choose from, especially records and CDs from Japan. I love and love these products very much.
Willing to use the service regularly.
Thank you.
When I first discovered the One Map…
When I first discovered the From Japan online merchant, I was able to purchase rare items online that is originated exclusively from Japan (which cannot be found elsewhere overseas).
For example, a trading cards of my favorite character (like in Inazuma Eleven anime), I can bought it online with few clicks and cheaper than those bought with Amazon JP or in eBay.
The accessibility is good, alongside with other merchants like those in eBay, Amazon JP, or Goods Republic; since some online merchants like Surugaya that caters only to the residents of Japan.
One Map helps a lot, acting as a middleman for the purchase that facilitates storing the items in their warehouse and eventually ship it directly to my residents in the Philippines.
The price is cheaper unlike in eBay, where price is inclusive of shipment. In One Map, I can bought several items and consolidate it into one shipment.
The purchase was easy. Since I use Php instead of JPy, it is automatically converted to my local currency via PayPal in one click.
I have the choice of shipment. The EMS takes only 3 working days. The FedEx and UPS are also quick but too expensive. Tracking number is available. In eBay, some of my items were never arrived after months of waiting.
The anime items are excellent with their design.
From Japan connects faster with my chosen items to be bought in Japan without the need of visiting the country.
Very good
Used fromjapan a few times now, it's a great way to get unreleased parts here in the UK. Customer service are good and postage is surprisingly quick. Don't be worried about scams or anything like these are brilliant to deal with.
Easy shopping from Japan to my home!
access to overseas Japanese goods both brand new and second hand with great deals
Seamless buying from Japan!
I started using From Japan proxy service to purchase items from Japan that I would not be able to as a buyer from overseas. It is very easy to set up an account and your preferred payment method. From Japan helps you to store purchases for 60 days and consolidates purchases for shipment if you wish. They are very prompt with shipping to you and packs the purchases very well. I am a very happy buyer.
Amazing packaging detail!
I consistently buy big pachislot/pachinko machines from FROMJAPAN. I am extremely proud and happy with their packaging work. They put so much love and care into how they ship the boxes. These machines can be damaged easily, if not cared for, but I am proud to say FROMJAPAN treats my stuff like it’s theirs. I am so happy. I can’t wait to buy more machines!
Very good experience I recommend
Reliable Business!
Have a couple thousand spent here over the 5 years or so, the customer service is great. I had a statue arrive broken and they did a great job at resolving my issue.

One of the best tech support…
One of the best tech support experiences I’ve ever had. It’s run by real people who genuinely focus on helping you. That’s a huge plus in today’s world, where so many companies rely on AI bots and prioritize profit over customer care.

I use their service often, the packing is excellent, and I love the shipping methods too.
FromJapan is the best proxy service to…
FromJapan is the best proxy service to buy items from Japan, have them repackaged in one parcel (to save on the damn high postal charges from Japan to Europe) and have them sent via eParcel (only 4300 Yen for 2 kg) to Europe. 10/10, awesome. 👏👍👏👍
Super fine .👍 .

A recent issue been fully resolved through their most efficient assistance of One Map by From Japan's strong support portal who remains committed to providing top quality customer service.
I owe great gratitude to Echika, Erika, Jake for their having gone extra miles in helping me out in time of need. Huge thanks to most reliable FJ's proficient service! I feel so fortunate working with FJ team. Big praises to their speed n' accuracy and attention to details. The MVPs such as Jake, Jon, Erika, Echika and everybody else in FJ team been patient and professional! Kudos! One Map by From Japan's top notch proxy service is highly recommended.
After years of using this proxy
After years of using this proxy, I am very disappointed. In my last 2 orders, products were removed, and I had to pay more for transport because I had 3 boxes in one. Before, they used to put everything in one and package it nicely. I refused to pay the transport for my last order, even though I lost the products. I will move to a different proxy from now on.

Zero Accountability for Mistakes
I've been dealing with an incredibly distressing situation, directly because of a mistake by FromJapan. This is my first negative review for anything. It started when FJ shipped my order containing can badges, and used the wrong HS code for them on the customs invoice, 7326.90 (Articles of Iron or Steel) instead of the correct 7117.19.9000 (Imitation Jewelry of Base Metal, per CBP rulings like N130043 and N153755). Critically, they never show you the customs invoice or directly ask for your input on it. The incorrect code triggered a customs flag requiring extra import paperwork, which FJ did not provide.
FedEx told me that as the shipper, FJ is solely responsible for the customs paperwork, and they would not accept documentation from me as the recipient. They also told me they had contacted FJ multiple times about the issue, and FJ had ignored them entirely. I wasn't informed about any of this by either party; I only found out by proactively contacting FedEx myself.
When I contacted FJ, they claimed they never received any messages from FedEx, but added that their policy is to not assist customers with customs clearance regardless. So FedEx said it's FJ's responsibility, and FJ said it's mine to sort out with FedEx. I was stuck in a complete runaround.
I eventually did my own research, identified the correct HS code for the can badges, then presented it to FJ with supporting documentation, requesting a corrected invoice be sent to FedEx. Yes, I basically did their homework for them.
They agreed, promised to keep me updated, and said they'd send me a copy of the revised invoice. They then went completely silent. Over the following weeks, every follow-up I sent was met with a vague "still in discussions with FedEx", while evading requests for the invoice copy they themselves promised.
Fast forward to today, I found out FedEx was returning my package to Japan. I asked FJ point-blank whether they had actually sent a corrected invoice. Their response blamed a potential "communication delay between FedEx Japan and your local FedEx office." Really? I asked them to update the invoice WEEKS ago, not to mention we're in the modern age of the internet? Why would it take more than 2-3 weeks for a communication from FedEx Japan to reach the US branch?
When I asked for a refund of the shipping fees, since this whole situation stemmed from their error, their response was that shipping fees are non-refundable "regardless of circumstances," and that, "if you would like to confirm or change HS codes, we kindly ask that you contact us prior to shipping instructions."
Can badges are among the most common anime merchandise exports from Japan. It's a reasonable expectation that a company built entirely around international shipping would classify them correctly. This doesn't seem to be an isolated issue, either. I've seen a post on r/FromJapanCodes, where another customer's doll head was mislabeled on the customs invoice as a stainless steel wristwatch. You can easily find that post if you search for "Doll Head" within that subreddit.
So, with all that in mind, this is basically how I read FJ's response: "Boo hoo. We don't care. You should have fully anticipated from the start that our company, which is focused on shipping items to international customers, is incompetent at correctly filling out customs invoice forms, and done your own amateur research on the correct HS codes for what is likely one of our most common exports. So yes, you're paying for our mistake, because assuming we were competent in the first place makes it entirely your fault."
To add insult to injury, I asked if they could extend the storage deadline for an order I currently had in their warehouse by just a few days, since it was expiring just before the return shipment was slated to arrive to their warehouse. I wanted to potentially consolidate this order with my returning package to at least save myself from paying double shipping, which I think is a reasonable ask. Their response was a flat no, with an offer to leave a "note" for staff, but explicitly with no guarantee it would prevent the item from being disposed of after the storage deadline.
So the end result: I'm forced to eat the ¥5820 shipping fees for the initial failed shipment, and then likely pay roughly twice that amount to ship my returned package and current orders in the warehouse separately, all because of their misclassification error and their refusal to make even minor policy accommodations to fix the situation they themselves created.
The discounts they occasionally offer are not worth this. If they make a mistake that costs you money, they will almost certainly not care. You will be fully responsible for it, not them.
