The reason this trip is great and the reason the company (FTLO Travel) is doing so well is that, this trip overall was put together so well and the group leader was so awesome! Maddie (the group leader) was great, fun, and very knowledgeable about the areas and cultures. I want to do another trip that she leads!

My recent trip to Slovenia (first FTLO experience) completely blew me away. The scenery is beyond breathtaking and every day brought a new view that somehow topped the last one. If you love nature and enjoy being active on vacation, this is the trip for you. Between the mountains, lakes, hiking, and charming towns, there was always something beautiful to see and experience.

After long days exploring, it was so nice to come back to accommodations that felt comfortable, welcoming, and thoughtfully selected.

The real standout, though, was our guide, Lilla. She is truly a 12/10. She is kind, thoughtful, organized, inclusive, and genuinely cares about creating a great experience for everyone. One of my favorite memories from the trip was visiting Piran, a beautiful coastal town that wasn't even on the original itinerary. Lilla saw an opportunity, made it happen, and it ended up being one of the highlights of the entire trip.

She has a special ability to make people feel taken care of while also keeping the trip fun and flexible. I enjoyed traveling with her so much that I fully expect to stay in touch and would happily sign up for another trip she leads in the future.

I can't recommend this trip enough.

This trip was truly an incredible experience, and so much of it had to do with our Trip Leader, Jordana. She was very thorough, communicative, and always available. She went above and beyond to secure reservations for us at her favorite local spots, and work with the restaurant owners to get us the best options available.

Even when she wasn't going to attend an activity, she met up with us to make sure we got to where we were going safely, and spoke with the locals to ensure we were all set up and taken care of. She was so much fun, and made our trip truly better than it would've been without her.

The overall trip itinerary was great. They put together a healthy mix of activities/down time, and the events are always so well done. This was my first FTLO trip and I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was very much pleasantly surprised.

Just finished a week in Portugal with FTLO Travel, and I can honestly say it ranks among my all-time favorite travel experiences, matched only by another FTLO trip to Spain and southern France in 2019. The food was amazing, the accommodations surpassed expectations, the itinerary was a perfect balance of activities and free time, and our tour guide Isabel was fantastic. I would sign up to do it all over again in a heartbeat! Thank God for the gift of this company and amazing tour guides like Isabel 🙏🏼

Had an amazing time in Costa Rica on my first FTLO trip! Our guide Victoria was the best of the best. She handled all the logistics of our trip flawlessly. She offered plenty of suggestions for activities and restaurants and transportation during our free time. The activities were all a blast and don’t get me started on the amazing group of 15 people I met on my trip! Take the leap and book a trip, you won’t regret it!

This was my second FTLO trip with Maddy as our trip leader and honestly that alone should say everything. My first FTLO trip was the Lapland trip with her and it was such an incredible experience. When I decided to book Ireland & Scotland, I specifically hoped I would get to travel with Maddy again. I even convinced my best friend to come along because I had such a positive experience the first time. This trip somehow still exceeded my expectations.
Maddy is truly one of the biggest reasons these trips feel so special. She is warm, funny, empathetic, organized, adaptable, and somehow always calm no matter what is going on behind the scenes. You can tell she genuinely cares about every person on the trip and wants everyone to have the best experience possible. Whether it was helping with hotel logistics, transportation, recommendations during free time or just making people feel included and comfortable she handled everything so naturally. One thing I especially loved is that even though Maddy is originally from New Zealand you can tell Scotland has really become her home. Her love for the country absolutely comes through when she talks about it. She made the history, culture and traditions feel exciting and personal instead of just tour information. It honestly felt like traveling around Scotland with a friend who was excited to show us all of her favorite places. The itinerary itself was amazing because it balanced so many different experiences. I loved getting both the city experience and the countryside experience. One day we were walking through historic cities, visiting pubs and exploring places like Edinburgh and Dublin and the next day we were surrounded by incredible scenery in the Highlands or the Irish countryside. Some of my favorite memories from the trip were the local experiences FTLO included. The private bagpipe lesson in Scotland was such a fun and unique experience for the group and honestly one of those moments that made everyone laugh and bond together. I never imagined I would actually try playing the bagpipes in Scotland. I also absolutely loved visiting the sheep farm in Ireland. Getting to see the sheepdog demonstration, learn about farm life and then have tea and homemade scones together felt so personal and authentic. The small baking lesson and time spent there ended up being one of the most memorable parts of the entire trip for me because it felt like a real glimpse into local life instead of just a tourist stop. What I appreciate most about FTLO trips is that they create experiences I know I never would have planned on my own. They are such a good balance of structured activities and free time and the local experiences really make the trip feel immersive. Overall this was genuinely one of my favorite travel experiences I’ve ever had. Maddy deserves so much credit for that. She is exactly the kind of person you hope for as a trip leader. FTLO is incredibly lucky to have her and I would absolutely book another trip with her again in the future.

Slovenia is such a stunning country and I am grateful to FTLO for introducing me to it as I don't think I would have known much about it otherwise. Lilla was an incredible trip leader with so much passion for her job. She always offered to go out of her way to make us reservations and take care of every detail. She's the best!

I just got back from the Scotland and Ireland trip and loved it! It was my second FTLO trip but my first one about a week long. I was a little nervous about being in a large group for a longer trip but loved it! Our group leader Maddy was a big part of it. She kept us on schedule and clearly communicated when things were included and when we had free time. She provided a lot of recommendations and kept this fast paced trip moving while still being friendly and clicking with the group. I really enjoyed the combination of city, nature, and culture of this trip. The Scottish Highlands and Western Ireland were beautiful, and the live music and pub crawl were also memorable experiences.

This was my very first time out of the country, and I couldn't feel more lucky to be a part of this travel group and have met one of my favorite people, Angelo. He made the trip to the Amalfi Coast unforgettable because he has such close personal ties to the area. I don't know what I would have done without his food recommendations, history lessons, and overall contagious positive spirit. I also loved meeting new friends that I will definitely keep in touch with! I am already thinking about my next FTLO trip. Thank you Angelo and the Amalfi May 2026 group!

I had an incredible trip to Portugal with Isabel as my trip leader. She was incredibly helpful and provided countless recommendations for any and all interests, in addition to expertly leading us through the planned itinerary. I would recommend to anyone looking for a first solo trip or anyone simply interested in visiting Portugal!

Just got back from Costa Rica a few days ago, and it was even better than I imagined! Victoria was a fantastic trip leader. She took great care of our group and was so knowledgeable about Costa Rica. This trip was well planned and executed. We zip-lined, surfed, ate incredible food, and chased sunsets. This was my 3rd FTLO trip and it will not be my last. Pura Vida!!

Just got back from an amazing week long trip through Croatia, and a huge part of that was thanks to our tour guide, Hrvoje (Henry). The itinerary was fun, well thought out, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish.

Henry was extremely knowledgeable about the country, its history, and all the local spots we visited, but what really stood out was how personable and genuine he was. He made it easy for everyone in the group to connect and created a really fun atmosphere throughout the trip. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does and wants everyone to have a great experience.

Whether it was organizing logistics, giving recommendations, or just hanging out with the group, Henry went above and beyond all week. Couldn’t have asked for a better guide, and I’d absolutely recommend him to anyone traveling to Croatia.

Slovenia was absolutely gorgeous but Lilla was the best part of the trip. I previously had her as a guide on the BVP trip so I was extremely thrilled when I found out she was leading this one as well. She really cared about us having the best experience possible and making everything as seamless as possible. She is amazing and I hope to have her again. The trip was filled with tons of adventure, activities, nature and great food!

Scotland and Ireland have been on my list to travel to since I can remember. This was my first time ever out of the US at 33 years old and I can say that it was life changing. The culture, food and overall kindness of the people are what stood out. The live music was a bonus as well! Being able to come together as a group and just laugh and hear each of our life stories was also another major highlight. Seeing just how beautiful the nature and landscapes were was overwhelming. Our tour leader Maddy has to be recognized though….Not only was this the smoothest, most organized trip, she radiated passion for what she actually does. She ignited something in me that I never knew I needed. And that’s the love of traveling. I got so emotional for not doing traveling sooner but she said it’s never too late, and she was right. I am so forever grateful she was the one to be there with me to widen my exploration of this beautiful world. Above all, she made us feel safe and encouraged us to live like the locals. People don’t leave a large mark on me often, but she will forever be in my memories. She was born to do this.

I had a great time on the Amalfi and Puglia tour with Angelo. Angelo is an excellent guide who took care of everything and always had excellent suggestions. He’s a delight and handled many tricky logistics situations easily, and I enjoyed learning about the history and culture of the region from him

I’m on my way home from FTLO’s Slovenia trip and already reminiscing on all of the amazing activities that were set up for us, including some that weren’t on the itinerary that our guide, Lilla, helped set up for us! The trip was the perfect mix of adventure, culture, and of course food and wine. Lilla really went above and beyond to create an amazing experience - she set up a ziplining excursion for some of the group and dealt with some hiccups that otherwise might have deterred a less experienced guide - but Lilla handled everything with such grace and we always knew she was there to take care of us! She also helped organize a hike in Lake Bled for a few of us, an extra little day trip to Piran, even breakfast boxes at the hotel for those who had to fly out early - she was amazing! It’s a no brainer for me to continue to travel with FTLO because of the caliber of guides, variety of experiences and level of care that goes into every single trip!

Slovenia is great. Loved my time and I loved having Lilla as my leader. I requested her due to my previous great experiences!!

I’m departing Rio de janiero after a wonderful group trip. Our guide, Zema, was knowledgeable, fun, prepared, and he went out of his way to ensure we had a great time. We had only one hiccup - watch out for your phones - and I had the misfortune of alerting him. He got right on it and took care of it as best anyone can. The boat day was maybe my favorite - new friends and experiences. Also, get a couple caipirinhias into Zema, and you’ll learn he has a sharp tongue 😂

I had the most amazing experience with FTLO on the Puglia / Amalfi trip with Angelo. The locations are stunning, hotels are wonderful, and activities are unforgettable. Angelo is the most amazing tour guide ever - can’t thank him enough for bringing his humor, personality and logistics expertise to make us feel so welcome!

The Puglia/Amalfi Coast trip was a great way to explore (beautiful and historical) areas of Italy that are more difficult to access on one’s own. And our guide, Angelo, did an outstanding job. He made the trip seamless and managed to stay hilarious, upbeat, and professional no matter what the traffic, hills, etc. threw at us. Grazie mille, Angelo :)
