Invested 20k in 2021 and only just came into profit mid 2026…..of £200. What a waste of time.

I’ve been investing with Fundsmith since 2017 and have been very satisfied with both the returns and the overall experience. The investment approach is clear, disciplined, and focused on long-term value. I strongly share Terry Smith’s investment philosophy, and Fundsmith has delivered exactly what it sets out to do. A reassuring, well-run fund for long-term investors.

Fundsmith staff are not pretentious, just efficient and helpful. Fundsmith does well over the long term, which is what matters. Fundsmith policies are rational, which is why it does well over the long term

Whilst not outstanding at the moment, the long term record is good and will excel I am sure in the future. These are troubling times.

10y outperformance of Global IA.
Very good long-term option; for those who wish to buy and hold.
No weapons, death, conquest or destruction.
Began with fundsmith as a teen, and learnt a lot about investing by reading whatever the FS team sent out to investors.
Very happy to have chosen FS.

My wife and I have been investing with Fundsmith since 2013,and have been very happy with the returns. We still have faith in the well documented approach of Terry Smith and his team, and expect(hope) things will turn around, given that they clearly state that this is a long term investment.
However, our experience with the back office has been appalling. We had to sell shares late last year to purchase and refurbish our new home.Once we had sold our old home in July we reinvested. Despite still owning shares my wife received a letter requesting various documents .It mentioned various enclosed documents and a stamped addressed envelope. Yet there was nothing enclosed. So my wife rang Fundsmith 8 days ago , but just couldn't get the lady to understand. She had to repeat herself several times.
She emailed a complaint, which still hasn't been addressed by them.
This is not the first time we have had issues with the back office. Quite frankly Terry Smith needs to get himself back to the UK ,and spend a few days sorting out the back office....Oh, maybe I've got it wrong, and the back office is now in Mauritius!

Terry Smith has revolutionised the fund industry by simplifying investing and minimising the costs.
Thank you Fundsmith
Recently the fund has fallen like VUSA and EQQQ trackers; however unlike VUSA/EQQQ that have had great returns over last 5 years FUNDSMITH has been terrible over the last 5 years (compare the graphs yourself!), in addition to this FUNDSMITH fees are far higher than trackers. Not sure how the downside is protected with this poor performing fund or what we are paying high fees for.

Our grandfather has passed sesy and our Nan has asked us to locate his investment and fund out how it can be transferred. I've sent three emails requesting help and all three have been ignored.
As other reviews have stated they are happy to except your money but not do forthcoming in giving it back.

I'm following up on my previous review.
In the end, I was misinformed by my own bank. They had told me that I could simply transfer pounds to my euro account.
I requested the transaction ID by email. I didn't receive a response, but they sent it by mail to my home address in the Netherlands. Although this took time, I understand that it was for security reasons.
I opened a pound account, and on the second attempt, the amount was successfully transferred. My experiences with phone support have always been positive—I was just a bit concerned since you can't see what’s happening on their end. There’s always a worry that it could end up in the wrong account.
I wanted to share this because the reviews below don't mention the resolution, which had also made me feel uncertain.

I already read some complaints here, but now unfortunately this is happening to me.
This is also the reason why I want to sell everything.
On September, I gave an order to sell part of it to invest in something else.
As a customer you cannot see what is going wrong.
The money is no longer in your account.
And this makes me nervous.
If you send an email, you will immediately receive an email stating that it will take 3 days for them to respond.
In reality this takes 7 days, if at all.
They are always friendly on the phone, but it just takes and takes.
I hope I get my money back someday :(

My wife and I gifted my son , who lives overseas , a sum of money which we agreed would be invested in Fundsmith . The gift came from encashment of funds my wife and I held in Fundsmith for almost 10 years which was held via a bond investment .
We sent the funds to Fundsmiths account on 29 July for additional investment into my son’s existing account. Monies were received by them and invested in the Equity Fund .
My wife and I sent a AML letter by recorded post on 30 July which included passport /driving license/bank statements /council tax bill . Since then we have no heard anything despite asking for confirmation that the documents were accepted.
My son also had to send AML documents confirming address /source of wealth /source of funds etc .
We fully understand the need for this and in the absence of any contact , we assumed all was ok .
My son received an e mail 20 August seeking AML documents which we had already sent . We called Fundsmith and they said they had never received our package of information , despite us having had signed delivery confirmation from the Post Office .
A few more telephone conversations highlighting the fact that we had written and sent AML docs .
All went quiet until 19 September ( 7weeks from original investment) when my son received another e mail saying that they hadn’t received any of the documents .
Lengthy discussions followed this week when the confirmed that they had found our letter and they promised to look into the matter and revert
Whilst the funds have been received the issue we have is the fact that our very sensitive documents were not handled correctly and we are still awaiting confirmation that they have received the AML paperwork and it is acceptable to Fundsmith . I have asked to speak to a supervisor but that has always been deflected with promises that the Customer Services Team would revert . They have yet to revert and we have to call them but so far no confirmation of any sort provided by them .
Very disappointing quality of service from a Fund that appears to be a very slick operation .
I hope that someone senior within Fundsmith pick this up and gets back to me .

Ive been investing with FundSmith for a number of years, I started because I had been recommended by a couple of friends who rated them 5 star! To say I am happy is an understatement, its been a very profitable fund and continues to be successful. I have withdrawn money on numerous occasions and never had a problem it has been an easy transaction and I will continue to give them my money for the foreseeable future. Thank you Mr Smith
I initiated an ISA transfer from Fundsmith to another platform and the transfer out was done within 2 days the recipient completed the transfer in within 14 days. This was much better than any other ISA transfer that I have ever done.
Amazing, a financial services company that answers the phone straightaway and deals with query in minutes.
Invested in 2021 sold up today for less than I input. Waste of time.
I am a ex Stockbroker. Worked with amazing intelligent people. If you trust an old man in Mauritius raking in millions every year, up to you.

as with the others the... it's so hard to get your money out or make changes to the account. i get there is a responsibility to mange AML or fraud risk these guys are verging on silly. it feels almost impossible to get money back...
I would give no stars if is possible. Avoid. As others have said getting your money back is almost impossible. I have had pending withdrawal since 8th of May and still not received money on 1st of June. Everyday stories after stories. Have decided to sell out to zero. Better funds elsewhere
