Naples - I did my checks before hand, saw there office is at the end of the road and not inside the terminal building. The staff member in the office explained everything perfectly (didn’t force extra expenses etc), then a short 30 second walk to the parking lot away from the Airport chaos.
Expected Fiat 500X or similar, received Skoda Kamiq which was perfectly fine and was in like new condition, a few scratches as explained by the receptionist on the sheet. Not a problem.
On return a quick 5 minute exchange/inspection and deposit was received same day.
Very Happy.

I have booked the Galdieri Rent in Fiumicino via DoYouItaly.com. It was cheap to be true, but 3 years ago I've got a car about the same price without any problems. Now the guy behind the counter just ignored our bookings under any excuse: the guy in front of us has a credit card which was determined as "doesn't look like a credit card, show me a word "credit" on it", our hand written IDP was declared as "fake" (as he is a carabiner or local police), but he pointed to the next "Green Motion" counter and there is no problem with my "fake & expired (it has handwriting dates in two places and one of them has some double marks due to the failed pen)" IDP if I buy for 25-30 times expensive with so-called "full insurance", regardless that you already paid for a full insurance. And I'm sure, it would be vice versa, if you happened to have a booking with the next counter, he will decline your booking and refer you to the GaldieriRent: both of them have the same driver requirements as per the IDP. By the way, I have on me the notarized Italian translation of my driver license which is allowed by the Law instead of a IDP, but the clerk even didn't want to hear me, when his parking lot was overcrowded with available cars. I guess, they provide to DoyouItaly.com and other aggregators with dumping prices to lure especially Americans into the money pit and share with them profit because the aggregators keep their share. Your family ready for a vacation, flied 9hrs, pretty tired and... bum. Then you go to a "respectful" car rental in the airport without any reservation and learn that you have to wait at least 3hrs because you don't have any reservation and pay for "full insurance", but your card, no matter what, will be charged for huge amount reserved. Somehow, I expect a response from the owner that they reconstructed events with its crew and bla, bla, bla… it was your own fault.

Dangerous vehicle and no customer support.
We hired a minibus from Milan for 4 days in the Italian Alps for a wedding event. The vehicle developed a brake fault including warning messages on the dash board. Hill start function became disabled (we were in a mountain region). We needed to use taxis instead to be safe.
Follow up took over a month and was complete denial. I have photos of the dashboard error codes....customer service said the vehicle is fine and has been rented again.
Avoid.

I have been using Galdieri at Naples Airport for some time, both at Rome and Naples Airport. The staff and service is excellent, especially Naples Airport, in fact I prefer to fly to Naples Airport so that I can have a stressfree experience with Galdieri. Having rented from various rentals in Italy over the years, this particular office at Capodochino is the best I have dealt with, all down to it's wonderful staff. Five Stars

Update: Galdierirent claims they cannot find my booking, but the rental was made under my husband’s name — which we already explained when we first contacted them directly by email before posting this review. We provided all the details at that time. There is nothing to “investigate” now, because you had all the information already and you investigated nothing and did nothing to help.
Being told again to “contact customer care” is pointless, as we have already done so and received no assistance. Saying you can’t find the booking feels like an attempt to dismiss the complaint rather than resolve it.
Terrible customer service both during the rental and afterward.

Original review: I rented a car from GaldieriRent in Rome (at the airport) and had a terrible experience from start to finish. The vehicle broke down mid-trip because it was delivered with almost no AdBlue — a completely avoidable issue. Roadside assistance confirmed the fault was GaldieriRent’s and charged me €20 to fix it, which was never reimbursed. The windshield washer fluid was also empty, and the return location was changed without any notice.
Staff were rude, dismissive and unhelpful, both at pickup and drop-off. When I asked to use a credit card that included insurance (in my name), I was told it was not allowed, forcing me to buy unnecessary insurance from them. I later learned this was false and misleading. Even their roadside technician commented, “They put cars on the road in whatever condition.”
Would not recommend under any circumstances.

I found them on a portal and booked a car rental in Alghero for a trip in mid-September. My flight got delayed and given that I was not able to pick up the car within 1 hour from the stated pick time they cancelled my reservation keeping the whole amount paid for the reservation. When asking if it was possible to get another quote they showed a absurd price for the same car. I tried to reason with them but they blamed the portal and refused to come to any agreement. Luckily was low season and there was plenty of alternatives in Alghero airport and have a lovely experience with a competitor of them. Please note that they don't even have an office inside the airport, they have only a small modular building next to the car parking. With the hindsight I am happy I didn't pick up the car from them. Their lack of professionalism (at best, if not deliberated fraud) would have been proved to be worse when controlling damages after the end of the rental. I would strongly advise against using this car rental company, even though they might offer more competitive prices than others.

I work for Switch Thrifty Head Office, so I know a bit about the business of car hire. I went to the Pisa branch of Galdieri rent. The staff, especially Tititisa, were amazing. We had to wait a bit, because we were early, however the weather was wonderful and the coffee was cheap and great. The car we got was not the Alfa I wanted however I got a Peugeot 3008 which was amazing, and at such a good price. I had a good laugh with all the staff and I will defiantly come back. I really cannot recommend them more.

Great cars, great service! And most of all they are honest! The Only recommendation I would have, is if it was possible to have an option to pickup and drop off at the Airport even if chargeable. And also have a loyalty scheme. Im definitely going to rent with them again in the future!

Whilst away in Italy, I scuffed the rental car. When returning the car, I pointed out the damage to the staff at Galdierirent Milan Malpensa Airport. The lady was extremely fair in the amount charged and provided all the necessary documents I needed to claim from my third party insurance. When returning home to England, I realised that I was missing a document for my claim.
I called the rental company and they responded immediately via a WhatsApp message. I explained the situation and within minutes, they had send through the document. I was then able to make the claim which was approved.

They steal money from customers . Rented a car in Olbia airport . Took deposit 1200 eur and never returned this deposit saying that they did . However this money was never received by the bank . Be careful !! This is fraud and stealing !

It took over an hour to get keys to the rental car in Catania despite having pre booked and paid in full including protection insurance. The assistant repeatedly told me the protection insurance I had was not valid and that I would be responsible for c €4,500 in the event of any damage, regardless of cause or fault. He kept pushing me to pay almost double the cost for additional insurance again. He then went off and left for almost 30 minutes. I thought he was organising the car but had done nothing. He then treated me like a child when I asked for the car. When I finally got the car it was filthy inside and out.
It was raining when the car was returned and the guy at the returns office refused to go outside to check the car. He said I would have to wait until the rain stopped which is clearly not an option when you have a flight to catch , or they would just charge me if they thought it was damaged after I had left the country and unable to prove that there was no damage. I still have no idea whether my deposit with be refunded or if they will try to falsely claim there were any damages to the car. Utterly appalling service. I will never use this company again.
The response provided by Galdierirent is actually factually incorrect. I was not provided with any explanation of the difference between insurance. I was told there was not additional insurance. I was then ignored for over 30 minutes because I said I did not want to pay for more insurance when I had already purchased it. The service was appalling. Not in any way helpful. I would NEVER use this company again.

With a fully comprehensive insurance, a deposit of €100 had to be paid.
After inspection of the car without any damage, (certified in a document) we were told that the deposit would be refunded immediately.
In the meantime of four months and several emails, we still have not received the refund.
Galdieri Rent claims that the credit card company is withholding the amount.
Could that be true ?

I use this company frequently. Always naples airport, Spring and Autumn. Always polite and helpful staff. There has been some talk of dificult to find office. I use for the reason of so easy! No shuttle bus. No chaos around mass rental company's. Walk 2/300 mitres.
Exit with car, your on the freeway. Always been smooth pick up and return.

I've noticed some negative reviews about this company, but we had a positive experience. The car we were given (Venice) was great and although we did experience a problem during the hire (flat tire) this was nothing to do with Galdieri. Indeed, they were as helpful as they could have been in the circumstances, given we were quite some distance from their offices. All the people I dealt with, either in person or by phone, were friendly and courteous. One thing I would mention though is that it's essential to read the rental terms, well ahead of pick-up and make sure you have all the required documents when you arrive to pick up the car. This includes an International Driving Permit (if you don't have an EU licence) and a physical credit card. While such things may be optional in some places, they are not in Italy.

When we collected the car they did our paperwork and then proceeded to try and get more money from us re insurance. We said we have full cover but they insisted in telling us we didn't...we never paid anymore money. Second thing. Returning the car. The man said we put scratches on the car at the front but we had evidence they were there when we got the car. He was very rude, accused us and he told my husband to come in and sign papers. When my husband went in the man said forget it you can go. Strange to say forget it but accused us of damage. People are right on their reviews of this company STAY AWAY PLEASE IT IS A Scam and they will try to get everything out of you.

Very Disappointing Experience – Avoid This Rental Company (Galdieri Milan Central Station).
I had a very bad experience with this car rental company and would not recommend them to anyone. When I went to collect the vehicle, there was no one at the desk. After waiting about five minutes, someone eventually came from a bar next door to assist us — not exactly a professional start.
The staff member who helped us was extremely unprofessional. The vehicle provided was very dirty, both inside and out, and had a terrible smell. It was clear that the car had not been cleaned after the previous rental.
Upon returning the car, we spoke to the same individual at the desk and informed him about the condition of the vehicle. Shockingly, he responded by saying they didn’t have time to clean it because we rented it early in the morning. He even said, quite rudely: “You want me to wake up at 5:00 a.m. to clean the vehicle?” When I pointed out that it’s their responsibility to provide a clean car, he just laughed.
This level of customer service is completely unacceptable. The staff are unprofessional, the vehicles are not cleaned properly, and the overall experience was frustrating from start to finish.
If you value cleanliness, professionalism, and basic customer service, I strongly advise you to stay away from this company. Their service doesn’t even deserve one star.
