I bought a Qualcast mower from…

I bought a Qualcast mower from Homebase. Took delivery and set it up. I cut about 3 square metres of grass before the belt snapped. After contacting gardenservicecentre I was told I would need to buy new parts.... I wont ever buy from Homebase again or buy a Qualcast product as its pretty shoddy.

Please don`t waste your money on…

Please don`t waste your money on anything from here. I bought a hedge trimmer that worked only the first couple of times used. When I took it out the next year to use again it had no power, as the warranty had expired the week before I tried to use it, I couldn`t get a refund. The machine was cheap enough @ £30 but worked out @ £15 a go. Please don`t waste your money on their products.

Challenged by a Challenge Hedge Trimmer

Looks like I'm another sucker who purchased a Challenge Pole Cordless Hedge Trimmer from Argos. Used it about six times and now the battery packs up after about 10 minutes. The charger goes from red to green but the battery has very little life.

I was about to phone the helpline, but based on what others have posted, I won't waste my time.

I purchased a Challenge 18v Li-ion…

I purchased a Challenge 18v Li-ion Cordless Hedge Trimmer in August 2017 from our local Argos. It has worked perfectly until now, when for no reason, it suddenly stopped. Battery shows a green light. I phoned this company to ask for advice, was told that I would have to wait about one minute to speak to someone. After 15 minutes, I gave up.
Then I read the other reviews which were similar to mine.
Never again will I buy an item like this through Argos, as there is no after sales service whatsoever.

Listening to your customers

After a positive first call, I have been left disappointed and annoyed with the level of service provided by what used to be a great brand. If like me you expect a £350.00 mower which is kept in a dry garage, used 5 times a year and cleaned after ever use to last more that 18 months before cables start snapping - Then a Qualcast is not for you... After being advised to send proof of purchase, and a picture of the break, and they would call me back to arrange an uplift, I later find that unless cables snap in the first few days they are not under warranty - but hey it's ok you can buy new ones and you should get them in 5 days - Buyer be warned however, there is a lot to be said for trust. So what do yo do when they send 8 pictures (in a attempt to show you how to fit the cable) - Which confirm that the cable has been updated, it's now a coated cable.. hmmmm, I wonder why they changed that part, given that the same revision of the Mower is stocked nation wide, I would advise checking before purchase, if the cables the not coated, walk away, but you have to wonder what's going to be the next revision due to substandard parts in the Qualcast range

unprofessional company.

Bought three,(yes three!) of their "Sovereign" lawn mowers from Homebase,
the first wouldn't start, the next two both ejected the (sheared through) drive belt.
The company refused to accept that they had a quality control issue!
Don't go near these mowers!!!.
