Great seller great communication ordered a beautiful gravel bike here the next day what a service very highly recommended thank you
I had a very disappointing experience with Gary’s Cycles, particularly regarding communication, customer service, and handling of a return.
I initially contacted them with an email about the 'Bike to Work scheme' but had to wait over two weeks for a response and eventually had to follow up with a phone call. During that call, I mentioned that I typically fit a size Large bike but was open to their recommendation. They advised a M/L as. Was on the border between the 2 size and the M/L would be more appropriate.
When the bike arrived, I only rode it briefly around my driveway and quickly realised it didn’t feel right. I contacted the shop and was told I could return it, but would need to travel from Clare to Sligo (a 2.5-hour journey) or pay for my own delivery and also pay a €100 restocking fee.
After making the trip, I was told the bike couldn’t be accepted back due to a small indent on the underside. This was near - impossible to see, and is only visible under certain light. I tried explaining this cannot have been me, but instead of being understanding or even polite, I felt aggression from the staff, especially one member in particular. The staff were, in my view, rude and condescending throughout the interaction.
At this point, it felt awkward and simply not nice, and I asked was there any alternatives. I was advised to try extending the stem to adjust the fit. When I asked what that would cost, the staff member said, “Don’t worry about it,” which led me to believe they were offering this adjustment free of charge given the circumstances. However, once completed, they informed me the bike could still not be returned and handed me a €50 bill for the part.
Overall, I found the experience frustrating and unprofessional. I would sadly not recommend Gary’s Cycles based on the services I received, especially after a sale has been made.
Had ordered a bike for my son, prompt delivery just 3 days later, taking in consideration I ordered it late in the evening. Bike fully assembled and ready to go, which was great. Would definitely give 10 out 10 for the shop! Recommend to anyone who is looking for a quality service, you'll get exactly what you are paying for, no surprises! Well done and if there will be a need for another bike, I will look no further! 👍
very good selection and prices, best post sale services I've ever had online, extremely fast delivery and bike basically arrived assembled with instructions printed from the shop. Absolutely top tier experience.
Just excellent service & communication. Best price on exactly the bike I was looking for.
