Their agents have always been extremely helpful, answering any questions I might have, and solving any difficulties
Somewhat decent service over several years. There was a huge hiccup with email a few years ago but we stayed. Due to a change in business plans we opted to switch recently. Then comes the SCAM. They make it very difficult to cancel the service. Only via phone and they do not allow you to delete your card online unless you put in a new valid card. So we were scammed for a full year of service on one site.
They state it was in our signed agreement...however we signed up years ago so they changed the terms of service. They also stopped notifying when your renewal was coming up AND added where you could not remove your card. We know this because 5 years ago we did drop a site and received dozens of email reminders. We also were able to remove our card to not be billed and chat with customer support to confirm. These options are GONE and so is our money. I would not recommend this service to anyone.

Terrible customer service. Our company email has been intermittent for two weeks. I have emailed and called them numerous times. They set up two telephone appointments but didn't call. They simply ignore us. No-one needs this aggravation. Choose another company to give your hard earned money to.
Does not deserve one star but had no choice. Billing my company for a domain and some services that were transferred to godaddy in 2009. Only as we started migrating everything from them in 2020 discovered these charges and they have suspended our services for non payment of $85.00 when there should be a credit. We have been with gate since 2008 and paid like clock work and when you talk to these guys one in particular Gorgi they are rude and obnoxious. They claim to be out of Chicago yet any time I had the displeasure of speaking with someone they are in Romania or something not sure. I would not trust this company to treat you fairly and will perform unfair billing practices and ride the line when it comes to ethics.. I could say more but I just left a chat with Gorgi and I am exhausted in dealing with this company I am over it and filing a complaint with the Attorney General in Chicago and with any other governing agency regarding their unfair practices.

Gate has provided trouble free web hosting for many years for me. For some reason, my password sometimes no longer works but at the moment it's working, so no complaints.
Gate.com has been hosting my site for years. They are extremely helpful and the site servers are high speed. No lag or waiting around for pages to load when they serve them. I recommend Gate.com to everyone.
As happens all too frequently these days the card that I was using for my Gate.com accounts was hacked, As a result my payments were overdue. Gate emailed me and I called them to fix the situation. It was quickly and courteously taken care of. I have been a Gate customer for many years and have always found the to be a pleasure to work with.
I was a Gate.com customer for over 20 years (back when they were Hostway). This year, my VPS became corrupted, and technical support was unable to fix the problem. They set-up a new VPS, but it couldn't support the basic version of PHP required by Wordpress.
Gate suggested I go to one of their "sister companies" instead. They refunded me for the original VPS, but they claim I didn't respond to a cancelation request for the second VPS – even though I confirmed the request to agents by phone multiple times.
Over 5 months, I've lost track of the number of hours talking to their support or customer service reps. There are some good people there, but the overall service and experience have been completely abysmal.

This is a great way to give yourself a vanity email address....easy to use and affordable.
I have been with Gate.com for close to 20 years, when I first joined it was called "Hostsave.com". Earlier this year I ran into a major issue with my domain (nettak.com) as it was not showing up anywhere. I contacted Network Solutions and discovered that the network pathway(s) had been changed. I've owned my domain (nettak.com) for close to 20 years and couldn't figure out what happened. I contacted Gate tech support and was told that a email had gone out to all domain owners explaining the new change. The original technician who answered my question was rather condescending, bordering on rude, crude and socially unacceptable. The next technician was considerably more helpful to me. It still took about 6 weeks to straighten things out, in between Gate and Network Solutions, but it was finally resolved. I only had a personal website and personal email hosting so it wasn't a big issue but it was frustrating to say the least.
While I wasn't too happy with Gate.com during my "downtime", but I never considered changing my domain host. This was the first real problem that I've had with a domain host and hopefully it will be the last.
I have referred a few people to Gate.com before and after my "issue" as I feel that 95% of the time, you do an excellent job. The 5% of poor performance can be attributed to staff and other issues which crop up from time to time.

I have used Gate.com twice now. Both times I have been completely satisfied by the service provided.
First of all, I found it easy to upload my website and maintain it.
Second of all, I found their SEO tools useful to tweak and improve my website. I received more visits and improved my ranking in Google.
Third of all, I only had to contact customer service twice because of issues, usually because of little mistakes on my end. Each time I talked to a professional and useful agent.
Fourth of all, I and those that visited my website never found it down. I was pleased with the uptime Gate.com provided me.
Unfortunately, due to personal issues, I have had to stop using Gate.com for my website. But when I am ready to resume a presence on the web with my website, I will come back to Gate.com for their services.
