Bought a couple pair to occasionally use at work. Happy with the shipping and looks of the shoes but the quality seemed to be lacking for the price. Wore one of the pairs maybe ten times and the shoe... See more

How this company uses Trustpilot

What the people who run GatsbyShoes.co should do is have a good long look at what their consumers are saying in their negative reviews here. The common themes are products that are of poor quality and construction that fail prematurely; issues with returns and additional fees for returns and restocking; unreliable delivery.
Its all well and good for the customer service team to offer up 'we are sorry our product doesnt meet your expectation BUT ...' then go on to cite a very restricitve company policy that allows them to avoid having to offer any redress.
In my case the soles fell off my pair of shoes after one year and 3 months (by the sounds of things I was lucky they lasted that long given other reviews indicating theirs failed within a few wears). Like most others, I was met with the 'sorry BUT' 6 month policy.
Clearly the company must know there is an issue with the quality of their product. A suspiciously minded person might conclude that that is the reason why their warranty and after sales support period is so limited.
On Trustpilot alone, the 1 star reviews and 2 stars reviews combined outnumber the 5 star ones. That, one would imagine, should be cause for concern for a reputable business.
Let alone the misleading and deceptive advertising emphasing both quality and durability, which in reading the reviews here is clearly not reflected in the end consumer experience of many.
I’d be interested to know what the landed unit cost for these shoes is for the company. I feel pretty sure they have room to sell them for a fairly substantial markup above whatever it is. You’d have to wonder if sacrificing a bit of their profit to actually replace things when the product proves faulty would make better business sense than irritating their consumers with the ‘sorry BUT’ policy.
I also wonder if they are keeping any data on the failure rate of their product? You’d think, again from a business standpoint, that they would want to be able to report that back to the factory that they have make them and see if there are any design or manufacturing changes that need to be made in order to ensure that the quality and durability of the product they sell matches up to their (seemingly false) marketing claims.
I think the old adage is "Once bitten, twice shy". I won't be accepting their offer of a 30% discount off another pair when they cant be bothered standing by the first pair.
Update 27/11/25 in response to Gatsby’s response to my review (see below).
1. The ‘sorry but’ line is back again.
2. This bit amused me … “especially since the shoes developed damage over time due to regular use”. What a massive assumption! Gatsby has no idea of what my usage pattern was of these. Are they suggesting that if, used regularly, the shoes are likely to fall apart? Sort of conflicts with the emphasis on ‘quality and durability’ in their advertising.
3. No understanding of the expectations of their customers; and
4. If they hope to ‘regain my trust’ they are definitely going about it the wrong way by not offering to replace these shoes as I have repeatedly asked them to do.

Purchased Old Town boots,
Fell apart after 9 months, eyelets popped off, left sole separated. Poor quality ,
No exhange.

Beware, Gatsby charges a restocking fee even if you purchase the easy returns and exchanges offering.
The shoes had a strong "tar" / "rubber" smell - not satisfied and won't buy again..

Alberto did a great job of concisely explaining the process and walking me through it! Not usually the case with online customer service.

I ordered the Gatsby shoes for my husband who has fussy feet. These shoes proved to be everything we hoped for! Stylish, which you can see in the advertisement…but very comfortable as well, which is the unknown when ordering online. Their return policy, however, took the gamble out of that concern. So order we did, and happy we are! We, without hesitation, HIGHLY recommend Gatsby shoes!!!
Their customer service is positively exemplary! We are happy customers indeed.

The shoes are very well constructed. Customer Service responds within 24 hours..
I do wish they had telephone sport, but Email support is sufficient for the time being.
Shoes work well with my prosthetic left leg and Look up-to-date and not clunky like so many diabetic shoes can be.

terrible quality, wore them twice and the bottom separated from the shoe, contacted support and they said they could offer me a 30 percent discount on another pair, why would I spend money on an inferior product again, stay away!

Alberto was a great help, he answered my emails with speed and knowledge, I thought he was a real pro !

There is no communication as to when my order will be delivered. I fail to understand how Customer Satisfaction is a low priority. I have asked three times and get told they have Procurement issues with no resolution.

Didn't realize there was a 3rd party involved. Their customer service is terrible

With my first experience purchasing your product, the product only lasted 8 months, I am not inclined to try them again.
The shoe is comfortable as advertised, but I am a little hesitant on trying them again, when I have other brands, I have used and lasted much longer.

Shoes initially did not fit so be aware that you may need a larger size. At checkout was automatically charged a $9.99 fee for a "free and easy return" but it was anything but free. Seems deceptive the way it is worded as I was charged for a restock of 10% and also charged an additional $8.23 for the Fedex pickup for the return.

This is my second time ordering these shoes. I fell in love with them from the first time I got them. They comfortable and stylish. I have received many compliments on them.

Well, I bought these shoes because they said they were bunion friendly and that you had wide sizes. I selected the widest available and a half size bigger than my true size and these shoes were still extremely tight and the toe box was not as large as I was lead to believe in the advertising. Sure wish you could have made the widths in the Exteded sizes larger. I was very disappointed and could not even wear them at the event I bought them for.
