BENNETON'S MISTAKE I EMPLOYING THE DREADFUL UPS
I have no criticism of benetton but unless I can purchase directly from a store, I will no longer be purchasing a thing from this company.
The reason is that they employ UPS to deliver their goods. My expereince of UPS is that it is the worst parcels company I have ever come across... and true to form, the simple act of purchasing a Benetton sweater is turning into another UPS screw up.
They are far worse than Evri, who themselves have only 50% of the satisfaction rating of Amazon for example.
So my message to Benetton is as follows; havs the company ever considered the amount of repeat purchases and revenue they have lost by employing UPS ...It must surely run into thousands.
Worst shopping experience ever
So, I dont even know where to start. So back on 21.11.2024 i ordered jumper as a birthday gift. Order never arrived, as Croatian DPD said they had technical difficulties with delivering ( I dont know what they mean under technical difficulties as no one ever tried to deliver me anything). I sent 2 emails beforehand to benetton and first time they said to me that they will try to deliver it again (DPD said they never got that notice), second time they said that order is cancelled and I will get my money back. Since then I sent 4 emails to get my refund and I got no response and no refund of course. I have never had with any company this bad experience. They were fast to take my money of course.
What a disappointing company
I have bought many new shirts from Benetton over the years but one I bought recently whilst on holiday in Italy, has reacted badly to the deodorant I use. All my other shirts from them have been fine with it. No suggestions given on the clothing that certain products can’t be used with their shirts. As far as I am concerned there was a fault with the dyeing of the shirt. It shouldn’t run after 2 wears and one wash. 13 emails to customer services. They stopped bothering to answer after the first 8. So angry and disappointed in this company as I have only bought their shirts - rather than other brands - for around 10 years. They have let me down and by the look of it, a lot of other people too.

I'm very satisfied with quality of t-shirts, blouses etc for adults.
I have one t-shirt which almost 6 y.o. and still looks lovely.
But childrens' clothes sometime not so well produced: trousers was tearing apart, print on the t-shirt start devastating.
P.S. I had experienced only offline shops.
Bad customer service
I thought to have found a really good shop for cute baby clothes however I made a BIG mistake ordering from them before checking reviews. I made 2 orders and both orders were shipped with UPS which was a drama.. one of the packages was sorted wrong thus extremely delayed. UPS tells me they will deliver the package so I stay home all day to receive it but then just never show up and deliver it to a pick up point more than 20 minutes away.. and I have no car and am about to pop out a baby so very frustrating situation.. this happens to both packages (both delivered to different pick up locations). Emailed with customer service but replies take a long time and when calling them it’s like they really have no energy to help you.. they are very vague and not at all eager to help you out with the situation.. really bad customer service.. will not order from them ever again!
I tried to return my order
I tried to return my order, but Benetton never provided the required second page to put outside the package or mentioned this crucial step. How was I supposed to know if they don't include the necessary documentation?
As a result, my return was sent back to me. I contacted Benetton, expecting them to acknowledge their mistake, but they refused to take responsibility and never issued a refund. To make matters worse, they stopped responding to my emails altogether.
This experience was beyond disappointing—unacceptable customer service for a brand of this reputation. I won't be shopping with Benetton again.
Worst customer service
The customer service is the worse I have ever experienced. I wanted to return a cardigan which after one wear was showing wool balls that happen after long wear. The label was cut off so unable to see what wool was in the cardigan. They instructed me on how to remove wool balls of garment and refused to take it back. I used to shop before because you paid a price for good quality, not anymore
The worst returns experience ever
The worst returns experience I have had with any retailer. The instructions are incredibly unusual and complicated - why make it so hard?
1. You are required to print two copies of a pro forma invoice (not just a regular returns form), one of which must be attached to the outside of the package - but it doesn't say this anywhere on the invoice, and it doesn't say this on the page on the website under my account where you initiate the return. Confusing.
2. If you try and contact customer service by email, the form has a limit of about 500 characters. So you can only send a very short message.
3. If you contact them via the website, they then contact you from a no-reply@ email address so you cannot get in touch with information that you couldn't include in your first message because of the character limit.
4. All the language that they use around returns is subtly threatening, all set around putting you (the consumer) in the wrong, rather than trying to help you.
Conclusion: never buy from Benetton again!
The goods coming from EU
The goods coming from EU, hence after Brexit that means complicated and lengthy returns.
The website is gb benetton com so I assumed as everyone else that I am ordering from U.K. store (that would mean no customs and easy returns). I know Benetton is a reputable brand, so I didn’t even bother to check the reviews beforehand.
Delivery time frame was stated as 3-5 days.
Only when UPS email update came I realised the £40 worth of organic cotton underwear is actually coming from Italy!? Luckily I didn’t have to pay any customs (I think I would be fuming otherwise) and the parcel fit through the letter box so no endless waiting for UPS.
The underwear in ‘one size’ looks really very tiny but luckily it stretches and fits me. It’s much thinner material than I expected but I don’t think I could return underwear anyway. I would probably return 2 bralettes but I will not, due to the hassle of 3 invoices and additional unwanted stress.
Ordered on 23rd October. Received on 31st October.
I might reorder the underwear again, but nothing else I would be unsure about.
Nowhere it’s stated on the website that you are ordering from Italy. Transparency would be good and would avoid the negative feedback. Customers should know before ordering!
I don’t understand why can’t you return easily into an UK warehouse. Like a few other international brands do.
I would never go again
I have been a loyal customer of Benetton for over a decade. However, my recent experience at a Benetton store in Portugal has completely soured my perception of the brand.
Last week, I purchased winter clothing for my child, including pants and a jacket. Unfortunately, the pants were uncomfortable due to a lack of elasticity. Today, I returned to the store to seek a refund or exchange. To my dismay, I was informed of a rigid store policy that allows only exchanges within 30 days of purchase, with no refunds. Despite my attempts to find suitable replacements, I was unable to do so.
This inflexible policy is unacceptable and demonstrates a complete disregard for customer satisfaction. I believe such practices should be discouraged, if not outright prohibited. As a result of this negative experience, I have decided to permanently boycott Benetton products.

I completely agree with other reviews here. Whilst my return reached them fast I have STILL not received my refund. It is over 14 days. Have emailed them just to get the same ridiculous response back - 14 days. It has passed now. Are you listening Benetton? It is robbery. They are holding back money. Disgraceful company. They make returns as difficult as possible. I put in my order number on their website form and despite it being correct they rejected my return. So I told them and they sent complicated e mail instructions to return which involved printing off 5 labels which did not print correctly and proformas which had to be signed and dated. Some documents went inside parcel and two has to be handed to courier. Very off putting will never use them again. Reading other reviews I will be lucky to get a refund.
Daylight Robbery
Total shambles - DHL return didn't show up then they said I hadn't provided invoice and sent it back to my home address and now won't authorise return. They don't seem to accept returns at any of their shops either. Will never buy from again.
The stress of no refunds
I do agree that Benetton has very good quality basics for reasonable prices but… The returns became a pain in the neck. I have placed nine orders for huge amounts. I kept the items which fit me and returned the rest immediately but I still couldn’t get my refunds back even for the returns they confirmed to have received three weeks ago. You send the returns to an address which is the city I live in NL and they claim to have received it ‘two weeks’ later (They add two weeks on the delivery date confirmed by PostNL…) and then the painful waiting for the refunds begin. I raised the cases via PayPal and Benetton told me to close the case to speed up the payments… Is this now a threat or not? And no, they didn’t pay a cent back and they are keeping hundreds of euros now. I wonder if I will ever get my money back…
Illegal and unethical
My story is almost identical to about three reviews here. After having been a loyal customer both in the 80s and 90s and in more recently in the store on Oxford Street and online, I got the same rude and unprofessional response about not having the correct pro forma invoice inside the courier return as another reviewer posted here.
I did exactly what was told and dropped it off at the DHL carrier and they have done exactly what they’ve done to other people on here which is to return it. When I called customer service they said it was my fault for not having the invoice inside (it was) and too bad, no refund!
A £60 coat miles too big and nothing to be done about! I don’t think so and I will be looking into file a complaint with the UK Trading Standards authority. I encourage others to do the same. Feels very illegal to me.

Online shopping is supposed to be fun and easy. Ordered the wrong size, fine send it back and start again.
Benetton have made things so difficult for customers, it’s unlikely they’ll return. This is the first order I’ve had to ask for help in returning, because I got so stressed I couldn’t logically think anymore.
I personally wouldn’t go through the returns process again so that’s me done as an online customer.
The refund took far longer than necessary. Returned my tops on 18th June, received my refund on 15th July.
Tried to swap my polo t shirts for identical ones in the shop on Oxford street and they wouldn’t do it.

Even one star is too much. Poor customer service. I returned items worth £130 in pristine condition using their nominated courier DHL, I have proof that DHL received it, DHL have since lost it, which is totally out of my control. Benetton won’t refund me until they can locate the parcel which will be like finding a needle in a haystack. Totally wrong. Benetton should seek recompense from their courier not from a customer who did nothing incorrect and followed their returns policy.
