Avoid - It's a scam. Fake reviews abound!!

Orders placed with a 48hr delivery.... nothing.
No replies to email.
No replies to Tweets.
No replies to messages.
No product arrived.

Company then blocks all reviews on FB / and on reading here... seems to swamped with reviews by "happy customers"... all who have only ever written one review?? Strange that??

Asking for two weeks for refund?? Surprise... No reply... No message. No-one home?

Scam company = Reported to PayPal and Trading Standards.

I wish I could give 0 stars

I wish I could give 0 stars. Ordered a lot of stuff and a mystery box on the beginning of november 2020. Never received my order, I had to chase them and email them to know what is going on, they never reached out. They keep promising they are about to send your package asap but the truth is they just want you to be silent again. They never sent it. I already contacted Paypal and they are currently resolving the issue. They better send me my money back. Total scam, please dont buy anything from those people, I know the stuff looks good but this is not a business people should support.

Super great box and merchandise!

I ordered twice in the last week from Geek Gear, and I have been immensely happy with both orders! I was a bit worried because after I ordered I decided to look up reviews and they weren’t the best. However, the box I received was well worth the money the shirt and mug alone took me to the price of the box let alone the other items! Everything is great quality and the shipping was super quick and tracked so Royal Mail gave me updates to when it would arrive etc! I will definitely be ordering again, perfect for any fan of Harry Potter who wishes to spend a slightly smaller amount of money ❤️

Wish I had looked at the reviews. Feel ripped off

Wish I had looked at the reviews before! Ordered a t shirt for my daughter’s Xmas present. Paid for 48 hour delivery. Still haven’t received it and had no replies from my emails. I should have realised things weren’t right when there isn’t a contact number on the website!!

Great products but customer service needs improvement

I had issues at the beginning trying to get in contact with the customer service as i did not realise the 12 month plan which was advertised as 21.99 was a prepay plan of £291. As a student having all that money go out at once was worrying.

I did get a response but nothing seemed to get done. a few weeks later and my box had arrived and the contents were absolutely amazing. Everything was well made and good quality.

Overall, i would recommend Geek Gear but there customer survive is quite poor. i don't know if this due to covid as phone lines are closed due to the pandemic.

Absolutely disgusting!!!

Absolutely disgusting!!!!
Terrible service, thinking but sob stories when you contact to chase up orders,

If you keep chasing because the date they give has passed, they just completely ignore you.

AVOID!!!! Stolen my money. Will be seeking back through PayPal.

Edit: I would like to add an update to this as it has been a year since my review and I have had more dealing with them so there is more to say:

1. They’re not the best at communication and shipping times. My advice would be, always pay using PayPal and any issues, seek a refund through PayPal because then they will contact you to sort out the problem.

2. Their system for ordering does not allow any cancellation as from what they have told me, you place the order and it prints the invoice that then gets mixed in a pile of other ones so if you want to cancel they have to go find that one piece of paper and remove it. This is a very flawed system and from working in places with this exact order picking system there is an easy work around to stop the system from allowing the shipment if cancelled. As a consumer we have a right to cancellation and they do not uphold this very well.

3. While the service during the pandemic was appalling, the quality and value for money when you received what you ordered was actually really good. However the quality and value for money has taken a nosedive this year with the number of items dropping from 7-6 with the quality also dropping as well with most of the items being cheap plastic and it feels like they’re running out of ideas for T-Shirt designs as the last couple of months they have been uninspired and mediocre.

Really the problem is, there is no consistence. One order you can go off without a problem. Shipped really quick, delivered safely and constantly kept up to date. The next will be full of problems. Order not being shipped and then every chase gets ignored leaving you feeling helpless and robbed. It’s the same with the quality, one month could be amazing and well worth the money with awesome and quirky items really well made and the next you could get a box worth a fraction of what you pay.

It’s also good to note that the big reviews on YouTube are from people who get the boxes for free so anything is worth the price and amazing when it’s free.

It’s a really good idea but the execution is very poor and the customer service training is appalling. To be fair Kelly is really lovely and helpful and another lady she works with that I can’t remember her name but everyone else I’ve had correspondence with has been rude and the utter reluctance to respond to some emails is abhorrent.

Rude, unprofessional scam.

My first box was.... average, so I cancelled it, a few weeks later I receive an email saying I have been billed again, so I email to say I’ve cancelled and please could I have a refund (i thought it was an honest mistake, now looks like more of a scam) next email I receive after about 2 weeks is a dispatch one. I then spend 3 weeks trying to get a refund, I’m told they don’t do refunds or returns, then to look at the returns policy on the website 🤔 which tells me to email, like I already am.
So eventually I’m told that if I get proof of postage and return it completely sealed they will refund plus postage. So I do that. 11 weeks later (of pestering and excuses) I have finally had a 24.99 refund (the box cost £29.49) and no postage refund. I have been spoken to very rudely and aggressively. And had every excuse under the sun (including being referred to by a completely different customers name & that they have over 300 returns a week) *Redacted Name* has now stopped responding to my emails and I am still owed £8.60.

I have dug a little deeper and found everything I can about the company, it turns out that *Redacted Name* who replies to your emails about once a week if you are lucky is also the director of the business, (I have been asked to remove his name but you can find it quite easily, It is unfortunate, but telling, that the owner is willing to go to the effort of reporting reviews but not willing to attempt to resolve the issues). Both his home and business addresses are available on companies house so I guess if you really want to pester him for a refund you could.
From the rate he takes to respond to emails he needs more staff, from the rate he gets returns he needs better products and from the way he spoke to me... he needs to learn some respect and manners.

I really hope that by writing this review I can put off at least one person from buying this box, even if you don’t mind the hassle, being charged after you cancel and the rudeness, the products aren’t worth what you pay anyway. Just go to Loot Crate.

3.8.21 Update - Never got my £8.60!

Waiting for a box that never came for almost 3 months

I’ve being waiting for my wizarding box of July and never came, the support customer is the worst I ever seen in my entire life. No money refund and no box arrived. They joke with people and the worst of all if you go to the social media to let people know they block you.
They are losing people constantly and they don’t care.
I fell robed.

Worst customer support in ages.

I've been subscribed to GeekGear for a couple of months now tho I didn't want to continue the subscription as of September 2020.

When logging into the site to cancel the subscription there's no subscription to be found, great I thought, less work for me.

A couple of days pass by and I recieve an email that states my subscription has been renewed, so I log on to check the account yet again, still it states clearly "You have no active subscriptions". But nontheless they charged me £45.

So I contact the support to try and get a refund, but even tho I couldn't cancel the subscription myself they refuse to give me a refund, we'll see if I recieve any box tho or if I payed for nothing but the worst customer support I've experienced in a long time.

Don't waste your money on this company, it's not worth it.

At least I managed to finally cancel my subscription via the support, so they did something right at least..

Never ever again

I ordered in January this year some items, when I received my package one item was missing. I got the answer that it will be back in stock in march and they will send it. In April I asked and they said they now can send it, where I said no I want my money back, since then I sent about 5 e-mails, but got no response since then. Never ever again I will order there. That's the worst customer service I ever expierenced.

Great subscription and items!

I had a three month subscription with their wizardary box and bought a surprise box. I was not disappointed with any of the items I had received and found that it is a much cheaper way of accessing Potter props; compared to Noble Collection. It’s a great idea for presents and they are packaged in a cute manner!

The boxes are hit or miss

Love the wands but most items look like fillers.
I don't need paper with quotes.
More tea plz and add hoodies, to many regular t shirts.
Sometimes you get a good item but most of the time they stuff the box with to small items.

New management, same terrible service

I was contacted by Geek Gear's "new management team" to address my previous grievances. They sounded all concerned at first and appeared to want to resolve their bad reputation in my situation. They even promised to send me new items to replace the ones I hadn't received and received broken. IT WAS JUST LIP SERVICE and had no real substance or sincerity. Months have gone by and those "promised replacements" have not been sent nor any follow up message or tracking number or anything. They are completely incompetent and only out to get your initial money with fancy words and clever marketing. DO NOT do business with Geek Gear despite the allure of cute or unique items. You will be disappointed like hundreds of others and don't believe all the fake positive reviews on here placed by marketing people and local friendlies. They are terrible and I really wish I could say different.

Geek Gear Box is a scam

Ordered several items from them. When the package arrived, half of what I ordered were missing. Customer service lacked compassion and wanted me to make another purchase so they can send the missing items. Then they stopped responding to any of my emails completely. Avoid at all cost. So now, rather than experience joy, I just feel scammed every time I see the items I did receive.

They owe me for two boxes I sent back…

They owe me for two boxes I sent back three weeks ago. They dont reply to emails and when they do they are defensive and dismissive. Terrible, terrible company and the contents were cheap plastic rubbish. Put me off subscription boxes for life!

Missing items, late box, poor customer service!

I will not be buying from this company again! I ordered the Cherry Wallis magical curations box with a missing item (which was sold out, they did not state this on their website). They said they would replace the item with two items of my choice. This was 10/12 weeks ago. Still haven’t got my items, I have emailed 8/9 times about this issue. I have had no updates from them and they are either ignoring my emails about missing items or reply with a “oh we shall look into this” or a “sorry about this, they will be sent out for you”. I was subscribed to their bi-monthly special edition box (which I have since cancelled). And I am still waiting for June’s box. I have also had no update about this special edition box. I still have 3 boxes coming from them in total (bi-monthly subscription box, the wizardry wearables non-subscription box and the Professor McGonagall limited edition box). I am not hopeful about getting any of these boxes. I have emailed about them and am awaiting a reply back.
