I would usually give 5 stars as I've…

I would usually give 5 stars as I've been very happy with George up until recently. I am giving one star to get attention as there is nowhere else to go but unfortunately I see that George doesn't respond to reviews on here so probably a waste of time but...
One item in my order cancelled; the item is still showing available in all sizes on the day of cancellation and 8 days later, so no excuse for the system 'catching up'.
One item in my order despatched on the 30th November still not received, I got an email on the 1st December saying it would be delayed which is acceptable at this time of year, but no news since then, any clue what's going on would be nice.
I think you should stop taking online orders till you sort out the problem you're having because I'm not the only one getting items cancelled for no apparent reason and also items delayed beyond a reasonable time.
UPDATE: Rang the call centre and I found out that the delayed item was effectively cancelled which meant that it was never going to arrive so I was given the option of reordering or refund; I chose refund it seemed the best option and I can reorder the item myself at a later date. I also asked for a refund of the p&p which they agreed to; do ask about this if you ring as obviously they owe you the refund of p&p but they won't automatically give it to you.
If you have an item delayed for longer than seven days you must ring or that item will be 'stuck' forever and you will neither receive the item or get an automatic refund if you don't ring.
They didn't say what the problem was with cancelling items that are in stock and delayed items that never get updates but I'm thinking IT problems as always.
The money is now back in my account for the delayed item including p&p but an item that I returned by post at a cost of £3.99 has not been refunded yet so that's another story for another day.
UPDATE: Been 14 days now since I returned an item to George via post office at a cost of £3.99. My George account acknowledges the return but I haven't had a confirmation email about the return and I have checked my bank account today and there has been no refund for the returned item.
UPDATE: More than 20 days since they acknowledged receipt of my return but no refund as yet.
ANOTHER UPDATE: So I rang up asking where my refund was for the item I returned; I had to have proof of return which luckily I kept (royal mail) and take a picture of said proof of sending and attach it to the email address they sent me while on the phone. If you are waiting for a refund you must ring up or you're never going to get that refund and I suggest that you take a picture of your proof of sending before you ring so you've got it ready; it is quite simple to attach the photo to the email address they send you while still on the phone but if you're worried about this I suggest that you get someone who knows about this kind of stuff to do it for you. The person on the helpline was quite efficient in refunding my money but interestingly there was no apology for having to wait for over a month for a refund.
Today, George had a sale, couldn't resist as I need some stuff, took ages choosing stuff in the sale and a couple of things not in the sale, everything all good until payment confirmation, went to bank app to approve payment, checked my balance, all good, big green tick from banking app, back to George and....circle of doom for a bit... then glitch glitch splutter...then back to start of payment process, so I assume it's not gone through! Not trying again just in case as and don't want two lots of everything not arriving, so that's that, they have lost a sale, but as we know they don't care!!

Asda Christmas presents order cancelled on day of delivery-fuming

Order cancelled
So upset today had two air fryers being delivered from ASDA and have just had a cancellation email saying they are out of stock. These were Christmas presents and I am so stressed and upset about this, what poor customer service just phoned the firm and they weren't at all bothered it would take up to seven days for my money to be put back on my card which means I can't even buy new ones today but these are the ones I wanted. The man told me to try different stores. I have, all sold out. Surely Asda take stock of such things. My advice don't bother ordering online at Asda such poor customer care!
Can't understand why they couldn't have given me an alternative????????

Why do they use the worst couriers 'Yodel'?

How cheap is Asda that they are using the worst couriers in the country. I am disabled and Yodel are refusing to deliver my heavy package upstairs to my flat.

Yodel said they only have to deliver the parcel to my building and leave it in the communal doorway, so anyone can steal it.

I asked Asda for a refund. They still sent the parcel and I had to frantically try to cancel it.

Why not hire a decent courier company who will deliver parcels to your customers in a professional manner.

I will not be buying from George at Asda again.

Never received an email or text telling…

Never received an email or text telling me my order was ready to collect. The order should have been delivered to the store yesterday. When I checked to see where my order was at 10.00pm yesterday it stated it’s on the way. Went to the store today to see what was going on and was told to contact customer services online, no help on how to do this. Came home and just kept going around in circles on the website. Asda don’t deserve any custom. They don’t care about customers. Our store has changed the petroleum station to pay at the pump which I can’t use due to being disabled when I asked about help I was told there isn’t any help. So I have to go a lot further to get my fuel but what I have discovered is the fuel I now buy gives me more miles to the gallon as it is superior fuel. We should be allowed to give no stars.

Terrible

Terrible! Ordered an item on Black Friday to be collected from their Forfar Store. Selected Wednesday for pick up. However, they didn't bother to process the order and when they went to ship on Tuesday they then realised it was out of stock and cancelled the order. There was stock of the item all weekend after I had placed my order. I will certainly not shop at Asda/George again, complete let down.

No email advising item is ready for collection, told 1 item was "missing", customer service is abroad somewhere, when I queried my order was told a digit was missing from order number, despite quoting it from confirmation and when I collected it, so couldn't help me, last time I'll order from click and collect.

Pathetic service for online ordering

Pathetic service for online ordering. They are just so unbelievably bad at doing simple things like getting an order correct. Yet again they've made a mistake with an order. They sent the wrong order to me (must have been someone else's). I ordered it for next day delivery, paying more because its urgent, and they want me to wait for them to collect the wrong order and return it back to the warehouse before they despatch the replacement order out which won't be next day but will be within 3-5 days. I've now got to go out and find the items before Friday.

I won't be ordering from george.com again. Pathetic.

Poor Poor Poor...

I ordered nine plastic Really Useful boxes and paid for next-day delivery. As with previous orders (x2) of the same items, I then received a message saying there had been a delay and they couldn't deliver; they did refund the carriage. When eight of them arrived, as before, one was damaged. When the last one came, two days after ordering, that was also damaged. I tried to leave a review on their website, but it was rejected as having the wrong content; in other words it was censored. I see I am not alone in rating them one star. This is the last time I will use them however cheap they are.

It’s so sad when the quality of their baby clothing is really great however the customer service nonexistent.
Ordered babygrows age 24-36 months (which were smaller than the babygrows from H&M 18-24 months). Returned them and only received refund for 1 item which I returned. The other item states I’ll receive a refund once they’ve received the item. Even though they were both in the same package and on the same returns form. Daylight robbery. Is this how they’re making money?
No customer service, no email response, no one to call. Social media being ignored. It’s the principle. Definitely lost a customer.

UPDATED:
After many tries and weeks later, Abhishek on social media has resolved the issue. Thank you!

No fitting room — unbelievable and unacceptable

It’s honestly absurd that this store doesn’t have a fitting room. For a place that expects people to buy clothing, refusing customers the chance to try anything on is completely backward. If we could try items in-store, their sales would instantly go up — it’s common sense. Instead, I have to take everything home, try it on, then come back to return half of it. It’s a waste of time and energy, and I’ve simply given up shopping here because of it. A basic fitting room isn’t a luxury — it’s the minimum.

I have placed perhaps 5 orders from George at Asda over the last 9-12 months, and every single time there has been at least one item missing from my order, leaving with the stress of phoning to try to get my money back for the missing item, and being left without the item purchased.

The last two times I have had to chase for a refund. Really poor service and really no excuse for the lack of care and attention.

George Stand mixer

I bought the 600 watt stand mixer for butter making, it struggles but eventually gets the job done. But it makes a terrible mess, obviously not designed with any chef input. It gets cream all over itself and the surrounding area and even gets inside the mixer case, which is a future hygiene hazard

Incorrect items sent!

Incorrect items sent!
I purchased items for a present and paid express postage but items were wrong. People are human and make mistakes apparently but they cant change the policy and send out the correct goods until they have the incorrect ones and wont expedite anything regardless of the fact that the recipient is going overseas on Tuesday. Apparently it would be discriminatory to change policy and find a solution

MORE UPDATE

Last Monday a very lovely lady from Head Office called me regarding my review.

She confirmed that my order had now been cancelled, I would receive a full refund and also a £20 gift voucher for all the aggravation.

On Wednesday I received an email saying "Good new, my air fryer is on the way" so I immediately emailed head office telling them of the mistake and not to send it.

Today the EVRI driver turned up and didn't bother to ring my door bell. That's what you get for using EVRI. I only knew that somebody was outside because my dog barked. By the time I got downstairs, he'd scarpered and left the air fryer on my doorstep.

I emailed ASDA telling them and asking them to get EVRI back to collect it or get somebody from my local store to collect their air fryer, as because it is theirs, it is their responsibly to collect it.

I also phoned their customer care team in South Africa. At least they didn't cut me off today. I explained the situation and told them I AM STILL WAITING FIOR A SUPERVISOR TO CALL ME BACK.5 DAYS SO FAR!!!!!!!!

Isn't it shocking that the only way to get a response from ASDA is to leave s poor review.

And..... I HAVEN'T HAD MY MONEY REFUNDED OR MY GIFT VOUCHER!!!!!!

UPDATE....

13.17 30/11/2025

I phoned Asda again to speak with a manager. I was asked to explain for an 8th time why I wanted to speak to a manager, and as I declined to explain yet again, I was CUT OFF and the call disconnected.

ASDA , THIAS ISN'T FUNNY ANYMORE. YOU WERE MORE THAN HAPPY TO TAKE MY MONEY, BUT NOW I WANT IT BACK, I KEEP BEING DISCONNECTED.

I bought a George air fryer which arrived last week. The first time I used it, unbeknown to me one of the rubber feet broke off, and I ended up with a chewy rubber foot in my mouth.

I spoke to Asda on the phone and to be fair - the guy I spoke was great.

He organised for my faulty air fryer to be collected. Apparently, once collected that is when the will arrange a replacement.

Well, that was last Wednesday and today (Saturday) I phoned to ask when I would get the replacement.

I was told it would be with me by next Thursday. No date, time - NOTHING... Just by next Thursday.

The guy I spoke to got quite upset that I asked for my money back and said that they need not send it to me.

I was told to refuse the item when the delivery driver turns up!

I pointed out that this was ridiculous and it was not the fault of the third party driver and upon saying this I was given a first warning!!!!!

The guy on the phone confirmed that I had not been rude, aggressive or hostile. I was given a first warning because I apparently refused to accept his instructions.

It takes up to 48 hours to get a supervisor to cll me back.

I called back twice, and on both occasions I was cut off.

I got through on the third time and asked if Asda have a policy of cutting customers off, and was told "Not really". That means yes, a little bit.

The lady I spoke to was lovely and said a manager would phone me back around midnight UK time, because there was a long list of customers to call back.

ASDA - Get your act together, and please can I have my money back for the faulty item I returned.
