This was my first trip with GeoTours and will not be my last. What a fantastic trip and adventure we had traveling to Egypt and Jordan. GeoTours has a wonderful mix of history, geography, archeological and much more built into their tours. The people on the tour were all like minded when it came to travel and flexible with any unforeseen encounters on the trip. Matt was a wonderful tour guide and I would highly recommend any of the tours he leads. It will be an unforgettable experience and adventure.

GeoTours, led by Matt Ebinar, was an outstanding 14 day tour of both the North and South Islands of New Zealand during the Southern Hemisphere Summer. Co-led by Don Barrie, a Geology professor, every day included both geologic and cultural highlights, and offered walking or hiking excursions from one to 6 miles. The tour included several intra-island flights, comfortable bus coaches, many meals, and well-appointed hotels or inns. Outstanding pre-planning and communication from start to finish.

Matt is an excellent tour operator. His knowledge and enthusiasm made trip enjoyable. The trip was well planned and informative whats on the itenary. I didn't have to worry about nuts and bolts of the trip.

My wife and I have been on eight trips with Geotours. We are repeat customers because the trips are very well planned and organized, informative and at great value. Most locations we've been to can be described as 'off the beaten path' and the groups are small which we like. Hotel selection is good. Matt & Susan assist with the airline travel by making timely recommendations. The trips are well documented with Matt's excellent photos which he shares with the group. Inclement weather was an issue on a recent trip but Geotours handled the inconvenience seamlessly with minimal disruptions.

This was my second GeoTours adventure with Matt Ebiner and Don Barrie. After a spectacular first-time group experience in Iceland in June 2021, my bar was set for New Zealand in January 2023. First, Matt is a master organizer and communicator and he took relatively all the stress of planning off my shoulders. Second, both Matt and Don's combined expertise in geography and geology gave me an education my curiosity craved. GeoTours itineraries are the ideal mix of natural sights, culture, and physical activity for me and I look forward to more adventures in the future!

Matt Ebiner and Don (I forget his last name)are both very passionate about travel and it shows in how they planned the trip, gave us different options in several hikes if we wanted to do longer or shorter hikes, gave us free time and made the learning about culture, history and geography fun and exciting. We made some great friends and plan to keep in touch with them. I’d definitely do another trip with Geo Tours.us. Thanks for a great time!

Matt and Susan are wonderfull nice people, kind and thoughtful. They plan well organize well and know how to handle adversity.

Geotours Rocks! I joined the Iceland trip last year (a bucket list item), and just returned from the Geotours trip to New Zealand (also was on my bucket list)! I always thought of myself as pretty organized, but Matt Ebinar wins the prize! In advance of the trip, he sends you friendly reminder of things you may need to do, let’s you know when great airfares come up to book, provides a high level and detailed daily review of what we will do and see, has options for experienced hikers, and those less experienced, cultural information, currency conversions, bag tags, and the list goes on and on. His trip preparation is phenomenal!

Before the trip, he has a zoom call where he introduces everyone, and reviews the trip details. Don Barrie (a geologist), also provided information on what we would see in advance of the trip, as well as during the trip.

The trips themselves could not have been better! Matt’s knowledge of each country is incredible, and he has every detail wired. He keeps all of us on track daily with every detail needed to make the best use of our time in country.

I plan on watching his upcoming trips as I can’t wait to go somewhere again with Geotours!

We travelled to Iceland on a 10-day geology-themed trip with GeoTours in August 2022. The itinerary was outstanding, and the organization of every aspect of the trip was exceptionally well done, from scheduling logistics to information exchange and learning opportunities, on the bus and at the sites we visited. Our route followed the main road that circumnavigates the island, but we also had the opportunity to visit the fascinating Laki craters region in the highlands and to stay overnight in small villages and on a farm. Our trip leader (Matt Ebiner), geologist (Don Barrie) and bus driver (Gísli Reynisson) all participated in educating us about the country, its cultural history and its extraordinary geological evolution and features. We loved every aspect of the tour — the rift zones, craters and lakes, waterfalls, glaciers, geysers, geothermal pots and pools, sandur plains, black-sand beaches, basaltic columns, landscapes and fjords, ports and churches, museums and national parks — and thanks to Geotours, we got to experience it all!

The trip was very well organized overall and close attention was paid to details that were well communicated by our guides. Accommodations were good and bus was comfortable. Places we visited were exceptional.
I would recommend that a Covid protocol is adopted and masking be enforced on bus and proof of vaccination before the trip be mandatory.
I would prefer a slightly slower pace and not having to buy our own groceries as much.

New to traveling; when I first signed up for the Iceland trip I worried that I would not fit in with seasoned travelers, or keep up with them. I thought I might even get lost.
In advance of the trip Geotours sent detailed itineraries including schedules, meals, lodgings and activities. We had access to our daily plans which I printed and others referred to on their phones. This was really helpful. Matt had also requested copies of our individual flight itineraries. He told me that my connecting flight was too close to my flight home. I changed to a later flight and made it home on time despite long lines at Customs and many airport delays.
My fellow tourists in the Geotours group were good natured. I always had someone to walk next to and never got lost.
After this trip to Iceland (which was spectacular) I am confident that I am a capable traveler. I'm looking forward to another Geotours trip.

I have been on many Geotours trips to different parts of the world and each experience was dynamic, unique, jam packed and fun. I enjoy trodding along lesser known beaten paths as well as the more famously known paths. We get a wide array of physical geography, cultural and historical backgrounds every place we visit. There is a sense of family and community unique to Geotours as well. I highly recommend this travel company and look forward always to the next tour.

This was was our first trip with Geotours. We can’t recommend them enough. We have traveled with other groups that have been good, but didn’t have the same attention to detail that Geotours provides. Everything from the pocket sized personal monetary conversion guide to the detailed itinerary and its daily updates was well thought out. Geotours treated us as family! Thank you. Hope to be traveling with them again soon.

We have traveled with GeoTours four times. Every trip was a great trip! Excellent itineraries and wonderful guides. Especially thanks to Matt for sharing all his passion and knowledge. Looking forward to having two more trips with GeoTours this summer!

We have been traveling with Geo Tours for many years.
They are always very well organized and include both culture and physical challenges in their tours. We have yet to be disappointed and enjoy traveling with the people in the groups. My husband and I have had many amazing experiences. We just returned from Egypt and Jordan where we had a great time and are
looking forward to Madagascar in a few months.

i just participated in my first two most recent GeoTours trips, and already signed up for the 3rd next year! i can't agree more with my recent travel-mates Andrew and Renee already described. Beyond Matt/Suzan's meticulous planning and careful execution, their tours are well-balanced between entertainment and education, touristy and off the beaten path places. The local guides they hired (be those with the group for the entire period or local guides just a couple hours in each place) are very experienced and knowledgeable, some are highly-educated (with master degree in tourism management, for instance). As such, what i heard, learned, observed, and thought during these trips are highly relevant/usable for my classroom teaching as a university professor. Moreover, both trips were during COVID-19, they did all they could arranging COVID testing, and making sure all participants are safe and healthy. GeoTours is a phenomenal tour company which takes travelers around the world to experience exciting and thought-provoking adventures. One element I absolutely love about GeoTours is that they do a fantastic job balancing included excursions with options for personal exploration. There is also a sense of family and community as each tour will have Tour Operators, Matt and Suzan (and daughter, Sophia), personally attending the tours with the groups to make sure the experience is top-notch. There are also a lot of repeat customers so it’s always fun to see friends that you’ve made on previous trips which is extremely unique compared to other tour companies. They find amazing local guides and make sure to provide experiences for all types of travelers. I have been impressed by the quality of the accommodations and the amount of inclusions provided for the overall cost. I also like that you will learn about the culture of the area but also be taken off the beaten path to see the natural beauty of the different countries. I have traveled on 4 GeoTours excursions and will be planning for the 5th very soon!

I’ve done 6 different trips with GEOTOURS since 2011 and am ready to book trip 7! I love how well organized these trips are, it allows for me to relax and enjoy the experiences without worrying about transportation, hiring local guides, finding the best value rooms etc. they do all that work for me! The experiences they provide are rich in culture, history, and nature. And the best part about these trips is that you connect with the people you travel with so often see these same travel companions again; because once you join the GEOTOURS family, you’re hooked and can’t wait for your next adventure together!

Thanks to Matt Ebiner and GeoTours, I was able to fulfill a bucket list trip. Matt’s thoughtful planning of the logistics truly allowed us, on this tour, to sit back and enjoy the breathtaking beauty of Iceland. From the pre-planning stage (i.e. list of things to pack) to the daily updates during the tour of what we’ll see, breaks during the drive, and how much we’ll walk/hike, it was a fun and active tour. Matt carefully balanced education about the dynamic geography and geology, sharing about the culture and history, and experiencing the fabulous food (farmhouse dinner) of Iceland. I particularly enjoyed the stays at the farmhouses, charming cabins and hostel. I would not have covered so much ground if it were not for Matt. Many thanks to Matt for making this trip truly memorable; it exceeded all my expectations. I highly recommend GeoTours and I’m looking forward to what Matt has in store for a future trip.

Iceland........matt is a very organized and helpful tour guide/owner of geo tours. from the online preparations getting us ready to start the trip, the trip itself, and getting ready to return back home he had all the right answers and was always available to answer our questions. Iceland is the most scenic country I have ever traveled. I highly endorse geo tours and look forward to other travels with him................
