FleetSmart / Blue Water Capital is a scam. Please do not do any business with this company. FleetSmart uses their fuel card program as bait, then persuades you to sign up for their "factoring" program. After two weeks of factoring with FleetSmart / Blue Water Capital, I realized I had made a huge mistake. All the loads I factored with them were short-paid.
After six weeks of holding my funds for the factored loads approved by brokers, On June 4, 2025, Mr. Matthew of Fleetsmarts / Blue Water Capital called and persuaded me to sign a two-year contract to factor with 247 Factoring (a.k.a. Inhouse Funding) and promising that once I signed, they would disburse my funds. Mr. Matthew even pleaded with me to write a good review about them on BBB, but I refused to sign the contract, insisting that my funds be released first. He then hung up and blocked my number.
A few hours later, a woman named Anna from FleetSmart / Blue Water Capital called me. She promised to work with me to ensure I received my funds, but insisted that I must sign the two-year contract after the disbursement. I told her we would discuss business once my funds were in my account. We reviewed my account together, and she informed me via chat that she disbursed my funds at a rate of 2.5% instead of the 1.5% we had agreed upon. Moreover, the documentation stated I could leave anytime, but only one load was funded without any charges, and there were additional charges I did not understand or agree to.
After receiving my funds, she sent me the 247 Factoring document again, which I refused to sign. She tried to manipulate me, pretending to cry on the phone, claiming she might lose her job if I didn’t sign it—an agreement that stated I could not pursue a jury trial if anything went wrong in the future. Despite this, FleetSmart / Blue Water Capital has refused to release my company to work with a reliable, BBB-accredited factoring company.
As a result of FleetSmart / Blue Water Capital's refusal to let me work with a better factoring company, my business has been non-operational since April 23rd. I’ve lost over $30,000 due to not running since that date. I have reported FleetSmart / Blue Water Capital to the BBB, but they denied having any business dealings with me and claimed to not know me. I also reported them to PissedConsumer, where I scheduled a video interview to give them a chance to comply with a peaceful resolution. I will continue to post reviews and share my experience everywhere until I get justice and FleetSmart / Blue Water Capital leaves my company alone, allowing me to do business with a better factoring company.

Matthew Amane was assigned as my account manager. Unfortunately, my experience was very unsatisfactory due to several issues with communication and account management.
First, I received unclear information about the terms of the factoring service. During our initial conversations, Matthew assured me that payments for the loads would be processed within 24–48 hours of submitting the invoices. However, after submitting several invoices, payments were delayed up to five business days, causing cash flow issues for my business. When I contacted Matthew to clarify the situation, his responses were vague and provided no concrete solution.
Additionally, I experienced difficulties with the Fleetsmarts fuel card. Matthew explained that I would receive significant discounts at partner gas stations, but when I used the card, the discounts applied were less than promised. I sent Matthew screenshots to show the discrepancy, but I did not receive a timely response or resolution to the problem. This led me to stop using the card after two weeks.
Finally, I attempted to close my account with Fleetsmarts, but the process was complicated and nearly impossible. The lack of clarity, delayed responses, and discrepancies in promised services made my experience with Matthew and Fleetsmarts disappointing. I would recommend other carriers thoroughly research the terms of service before committing to this company. I clarify that this way of expressing myself is only to comply with Trust Pilot. All my previous reviews have been deleted.
