If I could give them minus stars I would. I thought I was dealing directly with the hotel because of the interface of their website. When I saw the booking fees of nearly €150 I cancelled - within 2 m... See more

Reserve with getaroom and pay over the odds
I reserved a room in Edinburgh and the final price was much more than the original price on getaroom - reservation no 870844702 for 9th and 10th June. What an absolute scam. Don’t trust this reservation site - they are thieves!
Fraud
I was booking a hotel through booking.com and all was normal and straightforward, with the price quoted at £152. As soon as I clicked on "Confirm", the site altered to GetaRoom/HotelValues.com with two further charges added - £20 "tax recovery" and £56 "service fees". I tried to cancel immediately which triggered the message that the booking would be cancelled AND there would be no refund. They are piggybacking on booking.com and are criminal.
Marriott masquerade site that overcharges
This company represents itself in every way that you are engaging directly with Marriott. You are not it is a scam to overcharge you for rooms. DO NOT USE.
My CC reversed the charges but later recharged me based on Getaroom.com documentation. Marriott said, and I quote "We understand how misleading some third-party sites can appear, which is why we always recommend booking directly through Marriott.com". So Marriott knows they are a scam site, but hey, they got to sell that room twice for the same night. Follow the money.

I booked a room for two nights in…
I booked a room for two nights in London on what I thought was the Travelodge official site. The offered rate was £113 for two nights. To my horror, it was only after I’d paid, that the sum taken showed up on the screen. £343!! I was charged US taxes which shouldn’t apply. It was also only then that I saw that the website showing at the foot of my phone was not Travel Lodge but Getaroom.com.
I tried to contact the company to get my money back but was told there would be a further £343 to cancel!!!
I was mortified. I’m not made of money.
When I rang direct to the hotel and gave my booking reference they said it began with the wrong letter and didn’t work. Fortunately for me the hotel receptionist did find me by name. I do have a reservation unlike some unfortunates using Getaroom.
I expect this company is legit in the USA but is using illegal practices abroad.
Absolute scam
Absolute scam! Pretending to be the actual hotel. I believe they have been sued on account on this already. Also, did not issue a refund.
Untrustworthy and terrible customer experience - AVOID
I accidentally booked a hotel stay with these jokers, thinking I was booking direct with the hotel. To be fair, they did a very good job of mocking up the legitimate website; it certainly fooled me. I paid in advance to get the best rate. I then needed to cancel. They reasonably stated that my booking was non-changeable and non-refundable. But then they proposed to make me pay again to cancel! Customer service was almost non-existent. There is only one phone number and that’s in the US. Fine unless, like me, you don’t live in the US. I tried to communicate by email, but communication was slow and like dealing with a non-English speaker. AVOID!
Scam
Scam - I was told a full refund by a specific date. When I called back an hour later because I did not receive a confirmation email, they told me I could not get a full refund and hung up on me.
Avoid Getaroom.com like its leprosy
I was suckered by hotels.com and getaroom.com recently. I have searched hotels for vacations using hotels.com in the past and did so again recently. I saw a hotel I was interested in and clicked the hotel in question. I was directed to what I thought was the hotel website. The website had the hotels picture, a phone number and listed amenities of the hotel. I booked the hotel believing it was their official website but it was actually getaroom.com. There were mistakes made in the process of booking the hotel I could not account for and I believe were not of my doing. I was booked an extra room which made no sense for what our hotel accommodations required. After seeing the mistakes fifteen minutes later upon receiving the confirmation email I contacted what I thought was the hotels website. I was directed to a foreign country call center and was informed I was not eligible for a refund. Mind you this was twenty minutes after the booking of the hotel. After getting nowhere with customer service of getaroom.com I called the hotel and I learned the website I was directed to was not theirs and they could not even change or modify the reservation from their end. After my call to getaroom.com I was billed again for the reservation. I was given two rooms and billed twice after my call to them knowing I was filing a complaint. This service is ridiculous that they can pose as a hotel website, make reservations appearing as the hotel reservation desk, make errors on their web portal and then state customer is not eligible for a refund. Getaroom.com is a scam and I don’t understand how I eñwas directed to their webpage but places like hotels.com should not allow businesses like getaroom.com anywhere near their site. I noticed a mistake in the reservation immediately but was told I could not get a refund. I’m never using hotels.com again and probably out hundreds of dollars. This service is deceptive and clearly a money grab wanting to prey on the illusion they are legitimate hotel service. Be careful of being redirected to third party websites when booking hotels. Please do not use this service. I researched this place after I was denied a refund and there is an obvious pattern here. If you need to modify, change or correct errors in reservations this place will deny your refund and attempt additional charges.
So far so shit
So far so shit. Thinking you are on a hotel's genuine website you book, money is taken from your account and to cancel you need to put in the booking confirmation code that was emailed to you. Only of course, you guessed it, it wasn't. Website is worthless. If they are suddenly outstandingly good I'll rewrite this review
They do not honor their mistakes
Get a room took our reservation for a 3 night stay. When we showed up the hotel had no record of the reservation. We ended up having to book one night separately (only available) and stay somewhere else. The would only reimburse me 2 nights saying we were a “no show”. I will be suing and writing bad reviews everywhere.
Never Book Through Getaroom.com
Horrible website, horrible customer care, they are absolutely con artistes. Never make any booking through them. Be careful you go at the hotels official website. Terrible terrible terrible. They dont offer any refund after charging double the amount of the actual hotel room cost

hi was charged 600 euro extra on my booking by get a room . com was in thailand pattaya beach in april a very expensive platform was scammed by this site big time am back home now in ireland a total rip off by this platform i need a refund now now now
Complete scam
Complete scam. Pretends to be the hotel and gives a fake rating. Then charges the credit card more than the agreed price.
I wish I could rate less than 1
I wish I could rate less than 1 ! I never knew I was on a third party site! I never saw a now refund policy. I have never booked a hotel without a cancellation option. I have gone back and forth with them for 2 weeks now trying to get a refund. The hotel has authorized and this fradulant site states they have not.
Do not use this provider under any…
Do not use this provider under any circumstances! They are blatantly fraudulent—masquerading as legitimate hotel websites, spreading false information about cancellations and refunds, and burying hidden fees in the fine print. Total scam!
Getaroom.com scam and fraud
Booked through booking.com, but the reservation got sent to getaroom.com
I could only get getaroom.com’s name after my credit card investigated. They charged me for 8 rooms which the hotel cancelled and did not charge. After I filed a claim with the BBB, there are now more fraud charges on that credit card. This site is a scam and the worst part is I didn’t ever select getaroom.com so hard to even avoid them. Book through the hotel directly.
HORRIBLE experience
HORRIBLE experience! Do not be tricked into booking through this sketchy third party site. They charge all kinds of extra fees, they don't allow you to change room dates (I tried to change it more than two weeks prior to trip), and it is almost impossible to reach someone who speaks proper English that you can understand. They make their sites look like the hotel site and rope you in that way. BE CAREFUL booking your trips and make sure it is with the hotel directly
Terrible dont touch
I went onto the Holiday Inn website to book a room at Holiday Inn Impington, unbeknown to me I did my booking via another pop up window, but I booked the room at £60. It turned out I was using getaroom.com and after the booking was made I had notification that they had since added taxes and transaction fees and I had been charged $124 as they are American based.(approx £94) My operation date at a nearby hospital kept changing and the hotel did help initially by transferring my booking to the new date. Then right at the last minute my operation date got changed and I needed a room for that night, I couldn’t get hold of anyone that I had been dealing with before so I ended up having to book another room costing me another £70 so this room cost me in region of £160, hotel is nice but not that nice.
Getaroom emails are handled by sales force, who are next to useless and just keep going round in circles refusing to listen and very unsympathetic they seem to think it is okay not to tell the customer that they will be charging extra fees after the booking has been made. I have the hotel saying they cant do anything about refund as the booking was made outside of their company and sales force are saying they cant help as the hotel has refused refund. Don’t go through any booking.com booking using get a room
