There is so much to like about coconut - as my first account as a self employed person it’s been really intuitive to use and has helped me keep track of my finances, tax etc in a really helpful way. The customer service is also brilliant and really quick.

My only gripe is that it’s be really helpful to have a desktop version, I’m quite a visual person and so to be able to track invoices etc on a bigger screen would be great. But for what it can offer, a great service

I would happily recommend coconut to anyone who’s freelance or self employed, really useful when doing your tax return as you can share information with your accountant, if there’s ever be a problem you can live chat to one of the team and they’re usually instantaneous in their response…. First class service! the only down side I find is that because the card is pre-paid you can’t use it in certain places like on aircraft and some shops, hopefully in the near future this will change. Apart from that I’d recommend coconut!

Guys don't trust them I supposed to received a payment from hmrc which they have sent it but coconut rejected it for no reason they messed up

Coconut has a great app, and things like the tax vault are really welcome, but there are fundamental flaws with the service as a bank. No ability to receive international payments is a pain, but one i lived with. But i find myself getting a lot of declines with the card for security reasons evwn when theres money in the account. I recently tried to purchase critical equipment in a shop for a job, and the transaction was declined. No one at coconut answered the phone despiting it being in office hours according to the phone line, and no one would answer on the chat. They say i should jave transferred the amount to my personal account to get round it but i find faster payments from coconut to other accounts regularly take 1 to 2 hours and is therefore not practical whenever in a rush, i consequently could not buy the equipment for the job which was embarrasinh. 24 hours later the transaction is not whitelisted. I pay coconut for a business account, i shouldnt have to rely on my personal account to make basic payments.

Another problem is that often when a client tries to make a payment to coconut it is flagged as possible fraud, and the name of the bank comes up as something other than coconut or the account name. It creates a lack of trust with clients as they then have to authorise red flagged transactions with their bank.

Absolutely superb! I’m a self employed delivery driver and this is the perfect account. Extremely helpful when it comes to doing your tax return.

Where coconut really stands out thought is the customer service. Chat in the app to another human being and they get you sorted just like that.

Downside? Well I use standing orders a lot and you have to talk to someone to cancel/manage them which can be a pain. But like I said, the customer service is so good that it doesn’t really matter.

Would happily recommend 110% to anyone who is self employed.

I never thought I'd find myself saying doing your accounts was easy.... dare I even say... enjoyable?!?! But with Coconut it really is! The team are so incredibly helpful and the app is so easy to use. Absolutely recommend to all!!!

Such a great app. It's so useful and is a pleasure to use. I did the majority of my tax return walking in a park, rather than agonising over bank statements with a calculator. The Coconut app has the potential to grow but what I dig about this company is how they have reached out for feedback and also taken it on board and kept me in the loop with it. I look forward to seeing how this app goes from strength to strength.

Great Service, i have been with Coconut for nearly 3 years. Any issues i have i reached out to the support staff and normally everything is done within 10 mins.

So far had some really good interactions with the team at Coconut! Very friendly and honest. Answered my questions promptly and professionally. Would suggest if you have a question to reach out to them instead of stalling!

Kayleigh has been super helpful, even when some of my questions required other team members input. Instead of being strung along Kayleigh let me know she was speaking to them and would be in contact once she had an update!

I honestly can’t believe the bad reviews. I opened my account with Coconut right at the start and everything has always gone swiftly. Customer service is attentive and prepared more than any bank I ever had to deal with and answers extraordinarily quickly. Even in lockdown it never let me down.
They offer brilliant extras that can make it your one stop shop for all your accounts and taxes. This was free before, now there are charges but it’s what I’ve seen happening everywhere after Covid. I have a separated accounts software anyway so I decided to go with the basic account this year.
One less star because there is still no IBAN numbers, there’s a way to handle payments from outside the U.K. but I just do them from a different account ‘cause it’s easier that way. Also, the categorisation needs more manual input that I would like ideally.
All in all, great easy banking and customer service, and the fees are worth for a small business or sole trader with no time for accounts.

I've been using coconut as my main bank for a while now and can't fault it,the online team response very fast and know exactly what to do.
