Regarding the Fare: I apologise if you felt the final metered fare was different from the quote. Please note that the fare quoted at the time of booking is indicative only and reflects historical data for a typical journey on that route in our system. Unfortunately, we cannot provide a precise quote due to ever-changing live traffic conditions. The quote is meant to give an idea of the expected fare, but the final cost is determined by the official, regulated meter based on time and distance travelled.

Regarding the Driver: I am very sorry to hear the driver was unhelpful. We expect all of our highly regulated Black Taxi drivers to uphold the highest standards of courtesy and assistance. Please be assured that all passengers can rate the driver at the end of the ride, and Gett regularly sends drivers updates on all passenger comments and ratings so they can review their performance.

I use this service for work (BBC)

I use this service for work (BBC). Keep away. Its useless beyond believe. Cars not turning up. Or booking hours before then only processed at the last minute and arrive 30mins late. Really, really poor. Shocking. I mean, come on guys, it's not rocket science!

While this may explain a communications delay, I am sure the team that contacts you will look into the full ride history to determine the root cause and delay you mentioned.

Won't be using again.

Driver helpful getting in and out of car.
However I didn't want to hear his private phone call moaning about non British taxi drivers!
Not appropriate when passengers are in the car.

I would like to dispute this taxi fare.

I would like to dispute this taxi fare.

The driver did not display the meter at the start and end of the journey, which is a breach of Glasgow taxi licensing regulations. Without a visible meter reading, the fare is illegitimate. The driver also dropped me off at the wrong address.

The journey was approximately 12 miles at 4.30pm and at the standard fare it could not have cost £82. Gett did not provide any meter details, fare or cost breakdown.

This is an illegal overcharge and the service was not provided properly. Please chargeback.

Although we understand your feelings about the fare, I need to clarify the regulatory context and the details of your journey:

Journey Distance and Regulatory Fares:
You mentioned the journey was approximately 12 miles; however, upon investigating the route data, the actual distance travelled was 16.87 miles.

Regulatory Zones: Black Taxis are highly regulated by the local City Council. The Council is responsible for setting the maximum fares that can be charged for journeys taken within the City boundary.

Out-of-Boundary Journeys: It is important to note that the Licensing Authority does not regulate journeys taken outside the city boundary. Drivers are not obligated to take you to destinations outside the regulated area. If the driver agrees to take you to your destination, the fare should be agreed upon between you and the driver prior to the journey commencing. The reason for the additional boundary charge is that, once outside the city limits, the driver cannot legally take another passenger until they return to their licensed area. The charge helps compensate the driver for the time and fuel spent driving back empty without the chance of picking up any further fares.

Wrong Destination: I don’t quite understand the comment about being dropped off at the wrong address. As the passenger, you were present in the Taxi and are in control of the destination. The driver is obligated to take you where you instruct them to go?

Formal Complaint Process:
If you feel the charge remains illegitimate, you have the right to raise a formal complaint with the regulating body, Glasgow City Council. You can do this via their online complaint form: https://onlineservices.glasgow.gov.uk/forms/taxicomplaint/ComplaintForm.aspx
