Extremely unreliable!
@Emily, I have taken several attempts to convince Gjensidige to review our cases (related to our cars and house incidents). You guess what, absolutely POINTLESS. We realised that we don't get anywhere, unless we take the cases to court and pursue legal actions (costly and time-consuming) or move on!
Unfortunately, we couldn't afford to take the legal route, got robbed by you (as a premium customer), and decided to move on.
Of course, you are a cheaper option in the market, but indeed a great gamble.
I also think some of the Gjensidige employees at the claim department are extremely unprofessional and impolite!
I can write a history book about how unreliable you are!

Extremely unprofessional and disorganized — still waiting since April
I have had a very frustrating and disappointing experience with Gjsidinge. I submitted all required documents and have been waiting for my money since April — and still nothing has been resolved.
On June 19, I was asked to send my latest payment specification. I sent it the same day, which was the most recent one available at the time (from May 23). Now they falsely claim that I never sent it, which is completely untrue.
To make matters worse, they are now asking for the June specification, but that document only became available after June 25. They should know this — it was impossible to send it earlier.
The entire process has been incompetent and unprofessional. I now have to wait another 2–3 weeks for a mistake they made, on top of already waiting months.
What’s worse is that one of their employees was especially rude to me over the phone — showing no respect or understanding of the stress and financial pressure this delay is causing. No one has taken responsibility, and the communication has been poor at every stage.
I’ve asked to speak to a manager and I truly hope someone with real accountability gets involved.
Based on this experience, I do not recommend Gjsidinge to anyone. Disorganized, slow, and disrespectful.

In Gjensidige's large travel insurance, you are completely uninsured within the EU for medical care. You have to use your own insurance, which everyone has through their health insurance card. Public healthcare applies regardless of how it works in different EU countries. In addition, deductible 1500 SEK which is difficult to get up to with public healthcare. Fraud simply to charge for something that you do not get. Their invoice works great if you have to mention something that they manage well. Shame on you!!
If you’re looking for an insurance company that’s happy to take your money but goes to great lengths to avoid actually providing the coverage you paid for, then look no further than Gjensidige. They’ve proven, not once but TWICE, that their priority is saving themselves money rather than helping their clients.
I’ve experienced this firsthand: I started treatment under an agreed plan with one officer, only for them to suddenly replace that officer with someone new—whose sole job seems to be to find a way to stop your treatment! The new representative will make absurd requests, dig through the fine print, and latch onto the tiniest uncertainties just to deny you the care you need.
It’s a pattern with them—repeatedly switching staff, stalling, and trying to weasel out of covering essential treatments. It’s clear they care more about saving their bottom line than supporting their customers. If you value your health and well-being, steer clear of Gjensidige. You can’t trust them to be there when it really matters.
