Reviewers frequently encountered issues with security processes, noting insufficient operational scanners and long queues. Customers often reported unhelpful and rude staff, with many noting a lack of professionalism and insufficient personnel. The facilities were widely criticized for being old, tired, and often filthy, particularly the toilets, with many also noting a lack of modern amenities. Utter Shambles

Arrived from Turkey early hours of Friday 25th August . First issue No staff to operate the air bridge connection. Delay by at least 15 mins. 2nd issue we waited over an hour for our bags to be delivered to the carousel. Feeble excuses eventually issued by the one & only swissport rep. Basically not enough baggage handlers for the flight arrivals. Management/ planning an utter shambles. Lots of passengers were travelling to England, a very poor advert for Glasgow airport. I would have given zero stars if I could have.

Sadly lacking.

My wife and I returned to Glasgow airport in the early hours of this morning 25/08/23 and found that the airport arrival system has not improved but has in fact become worse.
Our flight arrived from Turkey at 1.20am and firstly we had to wait 10-15 mins for the walkway to be connected to allow disembarkation as apparently there was nobody available. We then had the wait at passport control where lots of passengers who had been directed to the Egates had trouble getting their passport to be read. Lots were being told to go across to the manual desks.
Finally, in the luggage reclaim area we had a 45min wait before the luggage from our flight started to appear. Tannoy announcements said "Sorry but the delays were because of the amount of flights they had". There were only two flights at this time, ours from Antalya and one from Palma.
Bearing in mind the delays we had since landing, the passengers were eventually able to start to leave the airport over an hour after landing. I understand delays can happen at peak times but it is is totally unacceptable to be kept waiting around at that time in the morning and Glasgow airport need to get their finger out and staff the place correctly.

A breath of fresh air

Just a short review... I was at this airport meeting a friend off a flight the other day. Two days before I had been at Edinburgh Airport which is horrifically bad.

Glasgow Airport could not be more different. The parking - whilst still pricey - is nowhere near as exorbitant as Edinburgh Airport. Glasgow Airport is tidy, fresh-feeling and has WORKING air conditioning - unlike Edinburgh.

Everything is clearly signposted too.

The security staff was threatening

The security staff was threatening, they behaved like the bouncers from a pub in a state, rude and aggressive. Awful behaviour that puts off visiting Glasgow again. I thought People Makes Glasgow meant something else.

Glasgow airport is briliant

Every member of staff I encountered at Glasgow airport was professional, friendly and helpful. Security queue was less than ten minutes at peak holiday time. Brilliant!

Terrible layout.

Terrible layout with no thought to travellers.
We arrived from the car park ( expensive) and through the main doors. We were going to check in desk 60-64 so that was outside the main building into what looks like big portahuts and wait there…just to be told afterwards to go back to the main building for security. Said bye to the poorer family member who dropped us off. From there, our flight was at the other extreme side (gate 19 I think) so it was another huge walk - no moving walkways to assist, always fun when travelling with young children - but there were plenty of shops trying to gouge even more money from you (remember the car park …).

I’ve travelled to many different countries and I should take pride in my home countries facilities but they fail so short. Maybe they would have looked modern in the 80’s!

Even their official website is just one advertisement after another, trying to get information about flights is not easy.

I flew into Glasgow prestwick airport…

I flew into Glasgow prestwick airport on 23rd June at 11pm. The place was deserted apart from fellow travellers and when we approached the exit, a group of men in mask’s attacked some young men who had been on our flight. This took place just inside exit doors and was extremely traumatic for everyone there. It then spilled out into the car park where eventually, 1 security guard appeared. Thankfully the police arrived quickly but my concern is the lack of security at the airport. I have emailed several times and have yet to receive a reply. Very concerning

Needs a serious upgrade

Unfriendly check-in colleague at Emirates check-in started the experience. An automatic check-in assistant would have been more responsive. May'be AI is a good thing. At least it would be programmed to say nice things politely. The airport is dated, cramped and some of the food concessions need an upgrade.

Arrivals time check is not up to date

Used this site to check arrival time of flight from Gatwick. It showered 18.25

Easy jet site showed 19.19. Which was right

Can’t trust his site for arrivals and cost us much more for parking. Absolutely pathetic. We had to stand about for an hour more than necessary. Come on GA. Get your act together and make us proud

Long Stay Carpark for bus

Long Stay Carpark. Useless customer service. Pre-booked our 14 night stay and updated it with our new car number plate on 19/04 for 21/06. Arrived at 3.06 in the dark and rain. Poorly lit and barrier etc gave no reaction. Moved to another barrier but was not allowed automatic entry. As no one in place and an empty office block we eventually hit a button giving us a ticket. Bus took ages to come. On return around 13.30 the bus took even longer to return around and driver said he was packing it so get on with it. Luckily younger passengers sprung to help by lifting luggage to high racks. Back at abandoned office block luckily a fellow sufferer pointed out a less than obvious communications button and low and behold we were told our reg no had not been updated. A total shambles from start to finish. 21/06 to 5/07

Aesthetics fine however very much…

Aesthetics fine however very much geared towards emptying your pockets as everything is way way overpriced!!!, even the duty free is mostly dearer than the highstreet/online. Took 70 minutes!!! to recieve luggage upon arrival, their excuse was that flights arrived at the same time. It's bad management!!!, employ more handlers and do the job in a timely manner, again down to money and corporate mismanagement and greed.

Badly managed

Seems they spend all the money on adding new shops etc when the arrivals is still stuck in the 80s. Bad management throughout.

Very Bad Special assistance experience

Booked special assistance for both my Autistic boys with agent n Lufthansa airline but after checking in we were directed to a 3rd party company in the airport who said they can’t assist with wheelchair because they were children and they are not insured to push them on wheelchair. We were left to handle the boys plus 4 hand luggage’s on our own. Pathetic excuses and if that is the case then it should be informed to all airlines and we could fly from else where.

Luggage Not Even Tagged Properly at Check-In

You would think that people at the check-in (in this case, a woman on behalf of British Airways, the most incompetent, worthless airline imaginable) could do at the very least the most important part of their job and actually tag your luggage correctly, but no. I flew from Glasgow to London, then London to Miami only for my luggage to not show and in fact, not even shown up in the system at all. Even better is Glasgow Airport having 2 different customer services numbers and neither of them being of any use. From one of them hanging up just as I try to connect to an actual person, and the other number being completely redundent and leading me to the first automated number. Unacceptable.

Horrible Everything

Glasgow Airport offers an abysmal experience across the board. Uncomfortable seating, charge points are scarce and are standing ones, extortionate prices, tepid drinking water, and a staff that appears enslaved and unhappy. It's a deplorable and disappointing place where passengers suffer physical discomfort, financial exploitation, and a lack of basic amenities. If you can, avoid this horrendous airport at all costs.

Glasgow Airport does not qualify as an…

Glasgow Airport does not qualify as an International airport. Staff training desperately needed. £12 for 45 mins parking? Can definitely learn something from other African airports. I am embarrassed that this is OUR airport. Never again, rather travel to Edinburgh.

Extortionate prices and faulty ticket…

Extortionate prices and faulty ticket machines, I was charged £50 for 16 hours of parking. The machine printed off an almost blank receipt for me to expense, and staff took no accountability for this. Paying this much for parking should incur a much better service that i received.

Its still a shambles airport to return home to

Arrived back from a 2 week holiday in Bulgaria, on the 23rd of May afternoon arrival, what a wait at passport control then for luggage in total around 90minutes, this airport is a shambles and it's always the same, the staff at the top should be fired on the spot, the reviews are shocking and I feel sorry for visitors to this country.
I will avoid in future and try Edinburgh or Prestwick

More Long Stay busses needed! Queues are so long!

Main gripe is Long Stay Car Park, or more precisely the lack of bus provision. Upon return flight home, and after navigating slow passport control, really slow baggage collection, the customer is faced with a really, really slow queue for buses back to the Long Stay car park. Elderly folk, folk with young children - really, really long queues.
It’s 2pm on a Saturday afternoon in May - when PLENTY of folk are taking holidays!! Considered getting a taxi back to the car park.
Tried phoning Customer Services from the Glasgow Airport official website and got put through to useless UK NCP call-centre with Chat-Bots asking me to ‘Press 1 if your query relates to parking in London’ etc. 😡!!
Eventually a bus came - overcrowded and left a significant queue still waiting.
Upon exiting the pre-paid parking, the machine tried to charge me £125.00 - this is common at Edinburgh Official Long Stay too. The only positive comment (hence scoring 2), is that a bloke answered the intercom quickly and because I had my booking reference to hand, he was able to remedy the situation quickly (like Edinburgh Airport).
As for the rest of Glasgow Airport, the whole arrivals / baggage reclaim area looks old, shabby and in need of some TLC. It’s not a great start to a tourist’s first impression of Scotland.
