Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 55 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found the airport's services inefficient and poorly managed, leading to significant delays in baggage reclaim and passport control. Reviewers frequently encountered issues with security processes, noting insufficient operational scanners and long queues. Customers often reported unhelpful and rude staff, with many noting a lack of professionalism and insufficient personnel. The facilities were widely criticized for being old, tired, and often filthy, particularly the toilets, with many also noting a lack of modern amenities. Poor transport links and expensive, inconvenient parking options were also a common source of frustration for consumers. Though some people were dissatisfied with staff, a small group of customers praised the helpfulness and efficiency of certain employees, particularly those providing special assistance.

Pathetic transport infrastructure to…

Pathetic transport infrastructure to and from Glasgow airport and exhorbitant car pick-up charges.

The ONLY public transport option is a bus from Buchanan Bus Station, totally inconvenient for the vast majority of Glasgow and its surroundings citizens. No train option at all. The only feasible option for the majority of users is the pick up and drop off at £5.50 to stay for up to 15 minutes with a £1 increase for every additional minute.

Picked up a passenger based on the arrival time on Glasgow airport's Flight Arrival's web page which showed RA FR5774 to be on schedule. It arrived an hour late. No doubt a ploy to make additional income from its extortionate car parking charges. Profiteering at its worst. An airport to avoid.

In the past I have complained about the time it took for luggage to arrive into Baggage Reclaim, but on our recent return from Spain it was the Polar opposite with our cases ready for pick up by the time we cleared customs (maybe15 minutes after landing). Extremely happy with service.

I'd give a zero if I could

I'd give a zero if I could. Depressingly rude staff on some kind of power trip. Throwing people's stuff around carelessly and making stuff up as they go. Completely inconsistent rules. Avoid this place, go to Edinburgh or Aberdeen instead. Extremely disappointed, I never want to end up here again.

Security took all the stars

Security took all the stars. Baby has a cough and had a medicine with us. They took it, because it was bought from regular store. Wasn't prescription. Bossy and rude attitude. generally-average airport.

Worst Airport

Worst airport consistently! Security a joke, pay for priority and get sent to join main queue, and staff wandering through new scanner, makes no sense.
Inconsistent rules each time going through security. Food prices extortionate, roll and bacon nearly £8.00, £2.00 for a potato scone, really. The need to stop the greed.
Hardly any shops, really poor overall
Always wait ages for cases on arrival, no matter if one or more flights arrived!!
Really poor departure and arrival times from Canaries, always early hours of the morning!
I travel a lot, using some of the busiest airports and have less hassle than Glasgow, cases arrive really quickly.
Totally disorganised and badly managed at Glasgow, check to call itself Glasgow International.
For holidays I have started using Edinburgh, so much better and organised, arrive get case and drive home in the time it takes to get your case at Glasgow

Once again, baggage delays of over 1hour!

Once again, over a 60min wait to collect bags when my flight arrived. They said it was due to ‘multiple flights arriving at once’ which is kind of the idea of airports. Sadly not the first time. I live in Glasgow but prefer to use Edinburgh but didn’t have a choice as it was the only Scottish Airport used by P&O for my cruise.

Pathetic experience

Pathetic experience ! They cannot handle the A380 with the amount of passengers flying in! I've been waiting at the immigration queue for about half an hour and I've hardly moved.

Rude staff are a let down

I've flew from/into Glasgow airport about 6 times this year and it's been chaos everytime. Zero issues on the way out, security is always quick and the boarding/check in staff are lovely but the staff on passport control are very unprofessional and downright rude. The scanners barely recognise children (are still forced to use them) meaning they get separated from their families and then the parents being yelled at for wanting to be able to see/ know what's happening to their kids. The staff (always the same 2 men) seem to be on a power trip and look like they enjoy seeing people panic, not a very nice welcome to Scotland. Been to much busier airports yet this one always seems overwhelmed by one flight landing.

Clueless staff

Clueless staff, restaurants with only 4 choices on menu and mayhem in the security area, with no one knowing what they are meant to be doing.
Dreading returning here.

Five Pound Rip Off

£5 to drop someone off/ pick someone up- an absolute joke. It has risen gradually and gradually. What is the £5 for exactly? It used to be free. Then ‘terrorism’ was the excuse- and they’ve made it harder and harder to drop people off but without improving public transport. It started at a £1 and now its £5. For what? The inconvenience which if someone is delayed goes up and up in price. And now a massive trek into the airport- had 44kg and not a trolley in sight- there’s not even a waiting area for cars if you’ve travelled and waiting for a flight to come in and its confusing to even the drop off bit if you’re not familiar with the airport. It’s just take and take and the airport hasn’t improved its services in any way or the road system. Not everyone lives in Glasgow City Centre- buses are expensive (additional charge for the airport that doesn’t tie in with local bus fares) and infrequent (not the 500 although that is expensive- almost cheaper getting a taxi and is not 365/ 24:7). No joined up rail service. What’s the £5 for? If I didn’t have to travel for work. I would never fly. It’s embarrasing to see what our tourists have to experience. Nice one Glasgow. Making us look like massive rip off merchants who can’t even put on decent public transport to the rest of the world.

Returned from Spanish mainland

Returned from Spanish mainland, November 18.
Flew with Ryanair.
Never at any time had any issues with the airport facilities, parking, bus service, food, drink, security, lost baggage or staff.
First rate all round. Fast, efficient and friendly.
Looking forward to my January flight from Glasgow International !

Fast track that isn't...

Paid £6.99 for priority/ fast track security as the website says 'skip past the queues, relax sooner, blah, blah'. Watch out, you only jump past part of the queue and join everyone for the queue for the trays, even though the staff queue is staffed and empty. Would have given a higher score but the security staff were anything but' friendly'.
