Great experience and brilliant customer service
Great experience and brilliant customer service. New engine in my 520d and turbo. Helped sort out recovery from Wigan to barking too. Highly recommend to anyone. Had my car for 10 days and I’ve got her back without an issue. 500 miles done so far and running like she’s brand new
An Excellent Experience! This is what customer service should…
This is what customer service should look like! After my Range Rover Sport engine packed up I spoke to Steve and agreed a price for an engine replacement (never having met him before). He organised for the car to be picked up, and 10 days later I got a call that it was ready. Went and paid my dues (which was the price we agreed, no hidden extras!) And drove back in my car! Job done! No headaches, no hassle! This is how the auto industry should operate! Steve was not only pleasant but true to his word! I wish all my car repair experiences were like this. Well done and thank you!

Appalling Experience and Very Poor Customer Service
I was recommended Global Engines when my Discovery 4 engine failed. I was quoted for an engine rebuild. Initially they were very cooperative and even arrange for the collection of my car from near Milton Keynes. I then get a call saying engine block is cracked and needs replacing for £650. I asked for pictures of the cracked block which I never received. I should have been concerned then. When I went to collect the vehicle the engine management light was on but I was told it should reset itself in a few miles. It didn’t. I also found a brake pad sensor cable on the back seat which I was told was the one they replaced (I had asked them to replace the discs whilst they had it in).
Within a few days there was a loud bang whilst I was driving, and I lost all power. Long story short, my mechanic uncovered a whole host of issues. The big bang was the sound of the front prop shaft coming loose because the bolts had not been tightened. He also found the rear prop shaft bolts to be untightened. He also found bodywork bolts ground off and replaced with cable ties, bodywork panels incorrectly fitted, engine sensors not reconnected, a missing brake disc sensor among other things. I Instructed my mechanic to fix all the issues as I had lost confidence in GE.
I am now modifying the rest of my original review as I have been threatened with legal action if I do not withdraw the entire review. I am not going to withdraw the elements of the review for which I have evidence to support the fact, I am only removing the bits that were communicated verbally between myself and GE staff (otherwise it would just be their word against mine). It was very difficult to get them to put anything in writing. This is however, not the first time I have been threatened by GE with legal action if I do not remove my review.
In summary, I did finally get my money back but only through the Money Claims process. If you do choose to use them then I would advise getting everything in writing. Check that the price includes VAT. My invoice was also in the name of a different company, the sole director of which shares the same surname with the sole director of Global Engines & Gearboxes.
Couldn’t be more happier
The whole world is currently struggling with this Covid19 and I had an extra added stress when my Range Rover vogue decided to pack up.
The garage arranged everything for me as I didn’t know where to even start with getting my car from the road side to repairing it.
They done a terrific job and I cannot thank them enough.
Even with all this going on they managed to give me great customer care and I have my car up and running for when I do need to go my hospital appointments as I’m currently having chemo

I’m over the moon with the level of service provided by Global Engines.
At the time I was almost 9 months pregnant and pulling my hair out about not having a working car for when my baby arrives within a matter of weeks.
Global engines literally done everything for me from recovering my car to delivering my car back to my home after.
They advised the works would normally take around 14 working days but due to my situation they pushed my car forward to make sure I had a car before my Little man arrived.
The owner himself promised me a completion time of within 7 days and even gave me a baby gift for my child.
Iv never know a garage like it I couldn’t thank Global Engines enough you deserve a reward.
Wrong and faulty engine fitted in my bmw
Soo, very long winded, the company is very aware of this, but instead of responding or even acknowledging me, have gone to great lengths of blocking me in every way possible.... anyway, I took my BMW 330ci clubsport to them to have what they called a “reconditioned” engine fitted, I said whilst the engine was out, could they fit a new clutch for me, to which they agreed, so I spent £150 getting a new clutch to supply along with my car, they told me 1-2 weeks the car would be done, a whopping 12 weeks later after being pestered constantly, they finally agreed that I could collect the car, so I went to collect it, paid the £1500 for the “reconditioned” engine to be fitted, anyway was told to baby the car for 1000 miles, straight away, the clutch felt horrendous, but I persevered and got the oil changed at the 1000 miles, which is pretty normal for a “reconditioned” engine, anyway after the babying, I took it to get the oil changed, where I was told the oil was very thick and very black, also had swarf in the sump/oil, anyway didn’t think too much of it, but then went off to drive as I normally would, the car was very very slow indeed, comparing it against my 183k original engine, this was very noticeably slower, so contacted them and they basically told me I was lying, fine, I then took it to my local bmw specialist to have a good look at it, then got a phone call to tell me the engine code is wrong, the engine code is a 325 engine (40 bhp and 500cc less than my original engine) and the clutch does not feel like one that has just 1000 miles on it, I asked them to drop the gearbox and inspect as the clutch was so bad, it definitely needed looking at anyway, to then be told the clutch is nearly dead, so these rogues hadn’t only replaced my engine with a lower powered and less valuable engine, but had also stolen the brand new clutch I had supplied, the specialists also mentioned that from everything they’ve seen and experienced from driving the car, the engine is not reconditioned at all and the performance was even lower than a 325, let alone a 330, like it should be, I contacted the garage to inform them of my findings, to be called a liar once again, I have proof of all of this, but opted to get one more bit of proof, my 330ci should have 231bhp, I could expect anything above 220bhp being thats it’s “reconditioned”, so I took it for a dyno at a reputable firm, it produced...... 153bhp at the crank 😳😳 not only did it fall short of a 330 engine, it fell short by nearly 40bhp of a 325 engine, so this proved that the engine was not the correct one, nor was it “reconditioned”, so I contacted them, as always, they weren’t having any of it, so I figured I’d be happy with just getting my old engine back, not even refitting it, just my engine on a pallet and once I’ve fit it, il return their evidently dead engine, to which they’ve ignored me... long term the car consumes a mega amount of oil, around 2 litres every 1000 miles, compared to my old engine with only 250ml every 1000miles... if you’re reading this, I hope I’ve discouraged you enough, they are an awful business to deal with and should be avoided at all costs.
Edit: global are insistent this is fake, I have reached out to them in every possible way (social media, email etc...) just not by phone, as I need there responses in writing, as I used to contact them by phone, but legally this doesn’t stand, they have blocked me on all social media accounts and ignore any email (blocked too ?) I refuse to contact by phone, they have my number, they have my email, they’re aware of the reg (PX03 XZN), they’re aware of my name, this NOT a fake review, trustpilot are welcome to contact me and I will supply proof, this is an honest review of what I had to deal with when I used them.
In reply to their reply:
They have received emails from me, I haven’t called as they have previously made agreements with me, then denied the agreements, so now I only accept things in writing, they have asked for an invoice, to which I sent them it via Instagram, Facebook and email, to still no reply, the claim of this being fake based on the price, if they checked the invoice I sent them, they would see this is not false, again they claim they don’t fit supplied parts, but Tony allowed it and even wrote it on my invoice, there is a very strong chance I am NOT getting them confused with another garage, the invoice I have and the garage I collected the car from was global engines, if trustpilot will allow me, I can even upload a picture of this invoice ?
This is a 100% genuine review

Paid for a reconditioned engine
12miles down the road coolant light came on, had to fill it up.
Drove it home and did an oil and filter change the oil should’ve been clean and clear it was black and had original filter still in that’s when we noticed the engine hadn’t been touched the bolts weren’t touched the engine was dirty all they did was replace the crank (probably not even a new one)
Within the 100miles of driving home the rear crank seal was leaking.
Won’t answer emails
I wouldn’t mark any stars
I wouldn’t mark any stars , up to you people but be careful with this company very dodgey , my bmw e90 320d engine blew these guys had it charged more than I should pay so I thought they would do a good job , no , later found the engine was a complete different engine that was in last time I had the car and it was a different ECU so had nothing but grief , From more than one source I here these guys are putting stolen engines in cars so be careful.

My 8 year old Discovery 4 suffered an engine seizure, and after my local garage faffed around for weeks trying to source a replacement engine, we discovered Global Engines and had the car transported from Devon to their garage in Essex. After just over a week the car was ready to collect.
I simply cannot recommend these guys enough. The value for money was amazing, the communication was great, and if anything the vehicle runs better now than it did before.
