Great lake complex with a nice cafe and good food. Owners and staff friendly and helpful, bailiff gave tips as to the best spot in my peg to fish and caught a pb carp of 27lb as well as my fist koi.

Where approached when arrived and rudely talked too. The complex was flooded and made 3 blokes go in one peg with 9 rods. 48hrs nobody caught a single fish or even a liner. When I pulled two my lines in I have plastic bags and rubbish attached to the rigs. Dirty and poorly maintained. Also far too many pegs and too close to each other, next peg along was exactly 1.5m we had 1foot gap between bivvys. No privacy. Will not be returning. Also website shows the A-list carp that are in stock but over half these carp are no longer in the lake.

Just badly run. Swim lay out is more like a match lake. Staff really don’t want to help. One horrible porter loe for 60+ swims. Food was awful for the money. In 30 years of fishing this lake has been the biggest disappointment.

No shower block open a pain for doing longer sessions , also road was mega flooded when arrived wich could of been put on social media so could re book as traveled a fair distance to get to fishery

A bailiff there was very aggressive and he made out he was the fisheries manager ..but he was not. The place is OK but if it rains a lot a few days before the entire surrounding fields become a flood plain and its unsuitable for fishing. They do have a good onsite cafe there.

I fish Broadlands main lake a lot, but I wasn’t expecting too much action with much of the lake flooded and cold night temperatures of 4-5C. In fact I caught 8 fish, which for a 48 hour trip in mid-December is a good result. 7 of the fish were 20lb plus, and all in really pristine winter condition. As always, bailiffs were friendly and really helpful. I’ll be back soon……..
