I was using the epic reading app and I looked up poop because I wanted to see if my poop was healthy and it flagged me and locked me out of my computer and I did not get my computer back so I stole it... See more

Horrid
Horrid. terrible.
Go Gaudian in my school district has blocked YouTube entirely, and I can't even study anymore
My school laptop is watched 24/7 (the only device I have access to the internet)
I've suffered with this actual parasite since I was in 4th grade, and it's been four whole years.
This is turning schools into a Cold War surveillance session instead of a place of learning.
classmates all get anxious because, like me, Go Guardian could get them in trouble even for talking about guns in an academic essay.
Absolutely garbage

A Professional Review of GoGuardian by StudentCritic
My school has been using GoGuardian for 5 years. It sucks.
GoGuardian is basically a website for admin, teachers, and students.
Admin: Admin can control what websites you're allowed to go on and not. It can also quite literally control your entire computer. They also have the power to disable browsing on your computer, which literally hijacks it and doesn't let you go on any other browser or app. It did that once on my personal computer at home because my teacher disabled browsing, and I wasn't able to even able to go to file explorer, because a huge popup covering the entire screen came up saying "DiSaBlEd bRoWsInG"... it's my personal computer, GoGuardian can't be allowed to do that right?
Teachers: Teacher only have control for their own classtime. They can disable browsing, not allow you to go on specific sites, close tabs, open tabs, and send you messages on GoGuardian chat. Keep in mind for teachers, these setting go away after their class ends, or until they choose to end it.
Students: Students are helpless kids who are left to the mercy of their admin and teachers. Teachers and admins can see their screens whenever they want, which means if they want to send a private email to their parents or anything, the teachers and admin can see it ALL.
There's also rumors that GoGuardian is selling personal information to people, but I'm not 100% sure if it's the truth.
All in all, GoGuardian is a very intrusive site that is very one-sided and allows admin to even block personal computers. I do not recommend it.

Edit: It also blocks stuff that are literally normal stuff. People have also bypassed GoGuardian by running codes and stuff.
The website that is just privacy invading you
Oh don't get me started on how CRAPPY this site is, I understand from a certain standpoint that you should block shady sites, but this THING it just uses it's power to do God knows what, they record EVERYTHING, hell, they're probably recording my exact keys, someone needs to stop them before they start using their access to do dark and illegal stuff
do not use
even though I am a student go guardian I'd say 50% to 75% of the time fails to block inappropriate. Content on top of having the chance to randomly block a safe website. I was once removed from a session randomly and my teacher got very mad at me even though it was go guardians fault 0/5 stars
Worst time of my life
Hello. I am a 4th grader. I simply searched up "Femtanyl", The music artist. They found that through goguardian. The teacher thought I searched up the medicine. They told the principal. And I was sent to the MENTAL HOSPITAL. anyways, goguardian sucks.
DO NOT USE GOGUARDIAN
This site single handedly destroys the privacy of students. It can remotely control what is on a students screen. Sure, it's good to have filters, but it is way too invasive. It got to the point that I can't even access youtube to look at videos for an assignment. It blocked the word butterfly because it contained the word "butt"
IT IS JUST DUMB, IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD
Homework helper or full-on digital hall monitor?
GoGuardian is basically that one teacher who never stops watching… except now it follows you home too. Weekend? Doesn’t matter. You open your school laptop and boom—instant supervision mode.
If you don’t have your own computer, you’re stuck using the school one… which means good luck trying to visit literally anything you enjoy. Favorite websites? Blocked. Random educational video you actually need? Also blocked. It’s like the internet, but only the boring parts survived.
And the filtering? Way too aggressive. Half the time you’re trying to do real work and it just shuts you down like you’re planning something illegal. Chill, I’m just trying to watch a video for class, not hack the Pentagon.
I’ve also heard concerns about monitoring features that feel way too invasive, especially when you’re at home. Whether it’s true or not, the idea alone is just… uncomfortable. School software shouldn’t feel like it’s creeping into your personal space.
Overall, instead of helping students, it just makes everything more frustrating. Less “learning tool,” more “digital lockdown.”
Blocks Everything And is Spyware
Bruh, this site blocks everything. I can't even find my book on Quotev because Quotev is blocked. I forgot to mention that this is spyware that invades students' privacy. I could give it 0 stars if I could
It will allow you to access sucky things like the epstein files
I am a student at a school that uses this and it sucks. It cannot tell the difference between a virus and geometry dash. Actually wait it can a virus is fine but geometry dash is blocked. Also one of my classmates was reading the freaking Epstein files in class on their Chromebook with GoGuardian on it yet I can’t play geometry dash. Plus it is so easy to bypass like you can just use a thing that one of my friends made in like 20 or so minutes and if you run that code you can bypass onto anything like any website ANYTHING ON THE INTERNET THAT YOU CAN THINK OF AS LONG AS YOU KNOW THE WEBSITE NAME. It isn’t safe it’s sad plus it has been proven that they actually look at you through your camera and record you with your microphone and they also log your keys and they are always monitoring you and it is such a privacy breach
Goguardian is a crime
Let's be honest, Go-guardian should be classified as a crime. I wish I was joking but how do people think that monitoring EVERYTHING that happens on a device is ok? A kindergartener could be at their home during summer break and get on their Chromebook during vacation somewhere and BOOM now some random teacher can monitor your exact location, search history, and check everything you type? GoGuardian is NOT ok to have in schools. GoGuardian is literally stalking minors. The website "Legalclarity.org" which is a list of U.S laws blatantly says under cyberstalking "and tracking someone’s location through spyware or GPS-enabled devices." THAT is the exact thing GoGuardian does. Cyberstalking can result in 5 years in prison BASE PENALTY. How is letting our school districts commit crimes on MINORS fine? WE NEED TO BAN GOGUARDIAN.
I HATE GO GUARDIAN AS A STUDENT IT…
I HATE GO GUARDIAN AS A STUDENT IT INVADES STUDENTS PRIVACY AND Users often complain that the software remains active on school-issued devices outside of school hours, monitoring browsing habits even when students are at home. IT NEEDS TO BE SUED
Why?
This “service” is literally every dystopian novel ever embodied into one.
I wish i had no cromebook after this
I wish i had no cromebook after this. If anything this is one of the most stupidest spyware extensions ever. It once tracked you webcam and do not talk about the teachers they are just the other problem just looking at kids one of my teachers had a grin on her face after sitting down looking at are screens. and it blocks EVERYTHING that just the top of the iceberg but if you are a school that needs somthing like this YOU DON'T.
ABSOLUTLY terrible
ABSOLUTLY terrible. blocks random things just because they have keywords such as butterfly being blocked because of 'butt' and doesnt even work sometimes and is bypassed so many times by not even high schoolers
frick this website
this website sucks it spy's on me just like all the other capitalist bastards
Pedagogical Panopticon
The pervasive integration of pedagogical surveillance technologies has precipitated a profound ontological shift within the contemporary educational landscape, most notably exemplified by the ubiquity of GoGuardian. While ostensibly engineered as a multifaceted platform for classroom orchestration and the mitigation of digital hazards, the apparatus operates through a mechanism of unrelenting algorithmic oversight that mirrors the functional architecture of institutional spyware. This systematic encroachment into the private sphere of the learner necessitates a critical examination of the ethical tensions between administrative security and the preservation of individual intellectual autonomy.
The operational essence of GoGuardian is predicated upon the establishment of a digital panopticon, wherein the student exists in a state of permanent, potential visibility. By facilitating the real-time interception of telemetric data, live screen manifestations, and exhaustive browsing chronologies, the software enforces a regime of behavioral synchronization. This constant monitoring engenders a psychological phenomenon of self-censorship; when the learner is cognizant that their nascent intellectual explorations and private inquiries are subject to immediate administrative scrutiny, the propensity for authentic curiosity is supplanted by a performative adherence to perceived institutional norms. This environment effectively stifles the "errant" thought processes that are often fundamental to the heuristic discovery of complex concepts.
Furthermore, the implementation of predictive analytics, such as AI-driven sentiment analysis for the detection of self-harm or ideological radicalization, represents a significant expansion of the school's jurisdictional reach. This proactive surveillance often fails to account for the nuanced context of adolescent research, leading to the pathologization of benign intellectual inquiry. By extending these surveillance capabilities beyond the temporal and spatial boundaries of the traditional school day, the distinction between public academic performance and private domestic existence is irrevocably blurred. Ultimately, the classification of GoGuardian as a form of sophisticated spyware is supported by its capacity to erode the foundational trust requisite for the educational enterprise, transforming a space of exploration into one of hyper-regulated conformity.
Egyptian gods are harmful according to go gaurdian.
One time in 7th grade my teacher told us to research about the gods of ancient Egypt and the teacher said that the person who had to research Anubis might have a hard time because go gaurdian might block the sight because it includes stuff about death. I have no words to say how actually stupid that is.
