What to expect on installation day

  • Appointment confirmation and installation: Your technician will call you the day of your appointment and complete setup and installation.
  • Equipment setup and coverage validation: We'll place your gateway where it gets the strongest signal and check for any dead spots.
  • Every room and every device connected: We provide a digital certificate verifying wall-to-wall Wi-Fi coverage.

What is included in my free installation and setup?

Our professional technicians will install and set up your new Wi-Fi so that you have wall-to-wall coverage with no dead spots. They’ll connect all of your devices (phones, computers, TVs, smart devices, etc.) so that your home is working just the way you want it to.

Is there anything I need to do prior to my Whole Home Wi-Fi Set Up?

Make sure that you have provided Kinetic with your current phone number and arrange for someone 18 years or older to be present at the time of installation. Otherwise, your appointment will need to be rescheduled and result in a delay in setting up your Kinetic Wi-Fi service.

What should I expect during my Whole Home Wi-Fi Set Up?

During your Whole Home Wi-Fi Set Up, the technician will confirm all connections are working both inside and outside your home and install new wiring if necessary. The gateway is set up, then the technician assesses the Wi-Fi environment and makes recommendations for what you may need to optimize the signal throughout your home, such as additional Whole Home Equipment. Once the best possible Wi-Fi connection is verified, they will make sure your devices are signed in and ready to be used on your new network.

Does the technician need access to every room in my home?

Technicians will only enter rooms with your permission. If certain areas in your home are inaccessible or restricted, just let them know. However, be aware they can only certify your Wi-Fi signal in the sections of your home they’re able to inspect.

Will my yard be damaged during the installation process?

Protecting your property is our priority. Our technicians use precise tools and techniques to minimize disruption to your yard. When burying a fiber line, we create a small, clean groove which is immediately filled in as we proceed. This helps ensure minimal visible impact once the line is buried. If there's anything you’re specifically worried about, just let your technician know.

Just all-around company to do business with.

Kinetic was at my house to install fiber when they said they would. They made sure that everything was up and running, like my computer, TV and a couple of other things that had to be reset the passwords due to changing over too fiber. The tech that showed up was very nice and friendly. I would recommend Kinetic to anyone. Thanks for everything.

Good experience

The fiber optic cable underground was installed by two guys 12/31/2026, they did a great job. For some unexplained reason the in-home installation was cancelled. I called Kinetic, was able to reschedule. On 2/2/2026 Tyler called when on his way, he was proficient in his work installing the fiber optic equipment. We haven't had any problems with the service.

The technician was very knowledgeable…

The technician was very knowledgeable and courteous dealing with the situation and explained everything that he was doing. He also explained that eventually everything will be buried under ground.

Presently did not increase my bill

Presently did not increase my bill, thanks.
But, my current speed does not accommodate my needs & you require an increase to upgrade. I rely on SS for a living & can not justify an increase.

Poor record keeping

Last month I got notification that my credit card was out of date I called kinetic talked to a live individual they updated my record and for an entire month I kept on getting notifications that my credit card was out of date I ended up recalling back and giving my number again I hope this doesn't affect my service

I have a HUGE billing issue with…

I have a HUGE billing issue with Windstream/Kinetic Business. In an area that MAKES you use this company. Been a customer 23 years which means nothing. Landline only two numbers and a fax ( yes, some still do that). Using old copper lines so extra charges of 63.00 until THEY change to fiber, but is that my fault they want to UPGRADE? No. We get nothing from them but LANDLINE phone. A bill that was 381 is now 500. Crap Company and if could change it would happen.

All the guys that came here to help me were wonderful. Very considerate and very understanding of my need to get Internet fixed. I am 75 years old and you don’t know how special it is to have a group of young men to come and help me like they did.

My bill went up when promised it would…

My bill went up when promised it would not, spoke with 2 people who were very nice and seemed to know what they were doing. I was told I would be given a discount but had to pay today to get the discount, but was assured my auto draft would not go through as scheduled at the higher price. Assured by 2 people all was fixed and good. Today I find that the auto did indeed go through as well as the discount, so I called because of a higher bill and get charged twice! when I called to get my money back, I was argued with, then sent to another person who said even though they could clearly see I was double billed, I needed to send proof that it went through my bank and then it would be up to 10 days to reverse the charge! Really it took you 1 day to pull the money why on earth does it take 10 days! SO unhappy with Kinetic should have switched to Verizon months ago like I wanted to. Don't fall for the "we can beat that price" they just go up randomly to get you back to the same high, ridiculous price as before!

They came out right away and repaired the downed line. They also called us to check that the service was working before they left.

techs help and are said they will call…

techs help and are said they will call back next day and so do but most won’t. Been trying for weeks to get computer fixed.

Lies

I was told nothing would change as far as my account besides the price. Speed wouldn’t change. Well the guy lied. Now my internet is slow when I’m only streaming ONE tv.
