I am very happy with my purchase from Goods Of Japan. I bought a gift for my boyfriend, that i would’ve bought on our trip to Japan, but couldn’t find it anywhere after the first time I saw it.

I bought my husband a Japanese leather…

I bought my husband a Japanese leather knife from this store, and he was so impressed with the performance of the knife. He said, "The knife feels balanced in my hand, reducing fatigue and allowing for greater accuracy in my work.". Also, I didn't expect that the delivery will be that quick. My husband and I will surely buy more stuff from this store in the future.

Overall, I highly recommend this shop and its products

I recently bought a Japanese woodcarving tool from this shop and was astounded by the exquisite craftsmanship and accuracy of the tool. The blade was very sharp and polished, making it possible to carve wood with ease and achieve a flawless finish.

But, the outstanding customer service that came with this product really caught my attention. They went beyond my expectation, and they ensured that I was happy with my purchase, communicating with me promptly and politely every step of the way.

Excellent customer service

I was in the process of ordering items from Goods Japan when I couldn’t succeed the payment due to technical issues. At that moment I contacted customer service, who was very fast in responding and help me to fullfill my order. They could easily see the issue and managed to find a solution for my case. For the inconvenience they offered me a discount for my next order.

I have never experienced such a well and professional customer service, with an answear within a couple of hours (probably due to time difference).

Excellent after-sales service

Excellent after-sales service. I have no doubt that their products are of good quality being Japan-made, which is to be expected. What really makes me happy with my purchase is their customer support. I emailed them to let them know that I am having trouble with my package's delivery. I explained to them what happened, and they replied that they will help me get my package. They contacted the courier and gave me updates, and sure enough, my package was delivered to me. Their communication with their customer is excellent and you will feel that you are really important to them. I will surely shop with them again.

I placed an order with this shop last…

I placed an order with this shop last December. I was pleasantly surprised that my order came this week. I thought it would be delayed, because of the holiday break.

The woodcarving knife that I ordered exceeded my expectations. It cuts effortlessly, and judging from its physical attributes, it looks like it will last a long time. I will go back to this store again for sure.

Above and beyond service coupled with…

Above and beyond service coupled with rapid delivery made my first order an extremely satisfying experience! A small hiccup in shipping was resolved by email. I had a response in less than an hour and the issue was resolved immediately. Very courteous and professional and all items I received were as advertised. Great resource!

I am very happy that I found this store. Looking for a good seller of silver clay is hard to come by. I received confirmation emails from them that made me worry free, and their support is also quite responsive as well. Highly recommended store.

Satisfied customer

I ordered several leathercraft tools from this store, and to my surprise, the delivery was quick despite having postal restrictions caused by the pandemic. The tools that I received were of good quality, which you expect from tools made in Japan. Their customer service is also responsive. Overall, I'm satisfied, and we will be coming back for sure.

Very helpful customer service and quality products

This great little shop has been very helpful with personalised advice when it came to helping me select a wood carving tool for a friend of mine. The emails were very friendly and personalised, and felt like they really cared. They also gave me a discount code, without me even asking, as a courtesy. It wasn't for much, but it was nice of them. 😊

They also have a great range of unique tools to chose from and the prices are quite good. They also offer a range of shipping from sea mail post to DHL courier (which was surprisingly cheap). I chose DHL and it arrived within three days! Not bad from Japan. It was well packed, but in a bubble envelope which I prefer, not in those huge, wasteful boxes you get from Amazon that leave you with a lot of trash to throw away. Speaking of Amazon, is it just me or is Amazon just a faceless online strip-mall that won't help, and are now full of con-artists?

I'd prefer to find small independent online store that give you personal service. I'm glad I found a shop like that with goodsjapan.

Excellent customer service

Excellent online store. They have a great range of Japanese wood carving tools that are hard to find elsewhere, even on Amazon. They were very helpful when I had some questions about shipping. I can’t recommend them enough. Thanks guys!

Goods Japan offers great wood carving…

Goods Japan offers great wood carving supplies selection. But what surprised me is their support. Now a days when you ask for assistance, usually you will be greeted by a bot but that is not the case with Goods Japan. You will be assisted by a real person which is a big thumbs up for me.

Excellent customer service

Ordered some Japanese wood carving tools from these guys and the sent them through quick. The quality was outstanding, and they were good enough to answer some questions on which tools were best suited for the carvings I had in mind. Try getting that on Amazon! Couldn't be happier.

Excellent experience

Excellent experience. I'm new to wood carving and the advice they gave me was great and helped me pick out what I wanted.

They offer various types of international and I found the shipping time was quite reasonable, definitely worth the extra cost.

The best thing was I didn't pay duty, it could be because of the new FTA between the EU and Japan, or maybe because my order was small. Either way, I'll be back.

Decent tools, terrible customer service.

The tools I bought from goodsjapan.com were of decent quality, though not spectacular, and are generally reasonably priced for what they are. However, postage and customer service were atrocious.

I paid extra for tracking as I was having the order shipped to Australia. For over a week the tracking information just said "Returned to sender". After a couple of emails goodsjapan.com finally told me there had been a problem and they provided me with a new tracking number. This tracking number only told me that the parcel had been posted, none of the usual tracking information you might expect. Then a couple of weeks later the parcel arrived. Last I checked the tracking information still just said that the parcel had been posted. That's not what I paid A$9 for. Goodsjapan.com offered a 5% discount on my next order, but that would mean spending over A$160 just to recoup the money I wasted on tracking.

I ordered nearly A$400 worth of goods and they were posted in one padded envelope. They were just thrown in, no packing to protect them from damaging each other in transit. It's a small miracle that the skiving knife didn't pierce the envelope. A tub of leather finisher leaked and covered everything in sticky goo that took hours to clean off. It's a flexible plastic tub, so it should have been obvious that might happen.

And what did goodsjapan.com say? Well, they're not replying to emails. So, if you're going to order from this company, only buy one or two items at a time (postage is free, but slow) so they don't get damaged in transit, and don't pay extra for tracking.

Thank you for your reply.

The error with the address was your fault, so penalising me by refusing to refund the tracking fee I paid for no reason is a little odd. If your mistake cost you money that is unfortunate, but it's not my responsibility. The fact you made the same mistake twice needs no comment.

I told you which item was damaged, it was the tub of leather finisher.

Editing your response after all this time without highlighting the edited text is dishonest to the point of outright lying.

Speaking of outright lying, the allegation that I made a mistake in my own address is a blatant lie. The error was entirely yours.

I never made a demand for money, that is also a lie. I asked that you refund the extra fee that I paid for tracking because you did not provide tracking. It is entirely reasonable to expect to be refunded for a product that was paid for but not supplied. If you don't understand that you should not be in business.

Hello, I'm glad you received all the items you ordered on time, however, I'm sorry for the experience you had.

Unfortunately, owing to an error you made in your address your package was returned to us twice by the post office which resulted in us having to ship it to you a total of three times. Once we determined the error with your address we sent it to you a third time, but the final time we upgraded your shipping to more expensive Priority Air Mail free of charge to ensure you were not disappointed with the delivery time.

I'm sorry you did not get the updated tracking information, this was our fault, we erroneously decided not to bother you. We see now this was a mistake and should have updated you a third time with the third tracking number. We have since improved our procedures and will be sure to update our customers should there be an issue with tracking.

We will be happy to send you all three tracking numbers to prove our sincerity. Please note, the postage paid three times was all at our expense due to the incorrect address you entered, so I apologise that we could compensate you with the money you asked for (indeed we lost money on your order) and we are sorry you were dissatisfied with the discount we offered you.

Please note that it is against our company policy to acquiesce to demands for money, even if that means a negative review.

Please be assured we responded to all emails you sent us.

As for the broken item, I'm sorry it was damaged in transit, we ship thousands of items and this is the first time we have heard of this kind of damage. We offer light, quality packaging to reduce your costs, to reduce wastage, and decrease our carbon footprint. If we had known we would have replaced your item straight away. Please let us know which item was broken and we'll be happy to issue a replacement free of charge.

Again, sorry for this experience, we've improved our procedures and will do better next time.

Great Service!

Answered my questions online and were very helpful. Had no problems with shipping and using PayPal made everything simpler. Simple site to use and loving my new Japanese kitchen knife! Looking into more for my dad and I to use together!
