We Decided to opt for Gough Thorne LLP when we bought our new house having been advised to do so by our agents Penrose. We hadn't had much experience with solicitors and even less in buying and selling a house as we had lived in our previous home for 53 years. We had been warned that it could be a painful, drawn out procedure, but in fact it was quite the opposite. We put the offer in on the 15th of August and completed on the 14th of November 2024. Gough Thorne, particularly Andrew Groves and his excellent team made things very easy for us and were always on hand to help us when necessary. They hit every deadline and kept us fully informed of any developments as they happened. We have no hesitation in recommending Gough Thorne to anyone who needs an efficient, highly competent and very approachable company.

Paula and Jennifer and team were very thorough in the buying process of my leasehold apartment. Very professional to deal with and good communications. Took longer to complete than I anticipated but the depth of detail and documentation represents this extended period (the joys of buying leasehold). Our conveyancer was Andrew and we really liked that most of our discussions were with Andrew himself. He always took the time to explain everything, managed our expectations with timings and costs and replied promptly to our questions.
Uploading documents to the portal that Gough Thorne use is relatively straight forward even if you are not great with tech and there was always prompt confirmation of documents or funds received.
