ZERO customer service

ZERO customer service. They allow ANY scammer to list a vehicle and then it is "buyer beware". It is NOT a government site. Bidding on a car that had $199 fee to buy....17% buyers fee....3 days to pick-up....40% penalty fee and loss of vehicle if terms are not met. What possibly can go wrong?

Avoid Govdeals as their products are misrepresented, Govdeals was blaming the municipality and the municipality blamed Govdeals leaving me with a vehicle that needs a new engine the answer was you pay As Is, so I have to fix it myself which cost me $5K. I Also paid 2 time, and the refund was difficult I'm still waiting for my return I paid $ 11,050.00 which was ACH wire payment which they said they will not take it, so I sent $11,050 for another bank as a wire, and they took both payments I'm waiting for my refund they keep saying we will send you check your Emil. Avoid this organization and choose another platform

Avoid Govdeals as their products are misrepresented, Govdeals was blaming the municipality and the municipality blamed Govdeals leaving me with a vehicle that needs a great deal of undisclosed repairs. When addressing this with Govdeals staff, they were awful to deal with. I am not convinced that they aren't shill bidding due to the patterns of bidding towards the end of the auction. Avoid this organization and choose another platform

Car buying on govdeals buyer beware if…

Car buying on govdeals buyer beware if it is their own guys from liquidity services in Florida or Tx. They have a few hardcore used car scammers writing fraudulent listings. No recourse once you buy it. Govdeals will refer you to the same a holes at liquidity services who listed the car , since they are from their parent company. Car drop off is at a random parking lot so you can’t have their address. Rainier is the ring leader , illiterate but will not have any mercy hiding any fault he can. Nice way to have a free run of the website , scam and burn Govdeals customers with no recourse, they just refer you to user agreement which says everything is as is where is .

Bait and switch

Bait and switch, bought an item was told it functioned, received it wet and rust l over, non-usable.But good old GovDeals got the commission up front. If you don't pay they lock you out, that would have been doing me a favor. NEVER send a CASHIERS check. Money back please.

Stay AWAY from buying any vehicle…

Stay AWAY from buying any vehicle unless it is listed by a GOVERNMENT agency. It's now got so bad, that it looks like 50% of the vehicles are now being sold by tow/repo companies and used car dealers. They are far from a Government related agency anymore. Like others have said, they are allowing all kinds of "questionable" people to sell on their site now. So don't buy ANYTHING unless you see it is owned by a GOVERNMENT agency. Don't buy anything that has it is being sold by some sort of "Liquidation" company or any other non-name agency. many now just use letters. I haven't nor will I every buy anything from these companies.

Been a buyer with govdeals for 10 years…

Been a buyer with govdeals for 10 years with many past purchases. Terrible and nonexistent customer service. Unavailable management , live chat bot that also doesn’t work. It’s a shame this used to be a great service.

THEY DO NOT TEXT OR CALL YOU no fair warning this offer expires fast they probably closed the offer instead of sending a bill / invoice if you're new do not expect great communication from them or even to tell you we reached to seller and or here is sellers info just terrible/ detached communication from gov crap

Terrible company

Terrible company! I have purchased over 6k worth of items on this site with one purchase. I was bidding on an item and it had listed pick up only but wasn't in a spot on the listing to where you could see it clearly. I won the bid and they asked for payment. It was a piece of gold and I stated I am sorry I didn't see where it said pick up only. I live in Florida and the item was in New York. I obviously wasn't going to drive there for a $500 item. They locked my account and suspended me because of this one mistake. They want $1480 dollars! To unlock my account they say its a default fee! HAHAHA I literally laughed at them! I have asked them many times to unlock my account since I want to purchase more items and they refused! This is not the way you get more bidders! They care about their sellers more than their customers! They need to have a second chance program on little mistakes like this! It's 1 strike and you are out with them! BIDDER BEWARE!

Very misleading...anyone can sell on this site and most of the items are absolute junk....the company's customer service is operated like a repo towing office...short attitudes, no customer service, and a general lack of concern. Do not think you are bidding on actual government surplus or items for 1 second

Some educations cost more than others

To those of you and myself that have a bidding number on Govdeals you should read the hundreds of negative reviews before bidding and my advice if you decide to bid too. I had heard some horror stories of some online auctions but never believed Govdeals was anything but a reliable source to get a good deal on used vehicles. I've purchase other items even three vehicles local to where I lived in another state and had a positive experience, I guess adding other affiliates has worn down their good reputation. Last November was my first experience in Oklahoma of bidding on a vehicle in this area but the vehicle wasn't in the possession of Govdeals but with (Sierra auctions) The location of this vehicle was in Dallas Texas. A 2006 Honda with low miles was a charity acquisition I had also won a second vehicle. Well sort of; I paid online then picked up the Honda because it was running, brought it home and began right away with body work and basic maintenance items. The other vehicle although paid for, I didn't return to pick it up because of a difficulting in getting a trailer to bring it home. It wouldn't start and run on site and that was just the opposite of the auctions description and so they reversed the purchase of that vehicle and then relisted it.. I thought because the brakes made noise, I figured it needed brakes replaced so I bought some brakes but when I took the wheels off to change I found out it was just rusted callipers and disks, I cleaned and lubricated those and reassembled. Then returned the brakes for a refund. Two things I am eternally thankful for; 1 not buying tires and 2 using a credit card for the purchase. Here's why; A week after I they received the funds I was contacted about how to title the vehicle. Thinking the title was on its way to me I began restoring and fixing the vehicle, it would start and drive but a check engine light was on. I spent about 80 hours detailing the engine compartment making it look new again, replacing a broken tail lights, oil and filter changes, a breather hose on the fuel body. Little did I know that after 11 weeks and many, many futile attempts on my part to contact Sierra auctions they simply ignored phone calls and emails all my attempts to get a title ending in failure. By the last week of December I made two last attempts; calls and emails to Gov deals and Sierra auctions telling them my patience was at an end, that I planned to get the transaction canceled, my warning also fell on def ears. I gave it 2 more weeks hoping that would get their attention, futilely, I watched my mailbox daily. Apparently not! I resigned and contacted my credit card company and asked that they reverse the purchase and why I had decided on that action.
They apparently had either heard my story before or did their own investigation as well as notify Sierra of my complaint. After a couple of weeks of waiting they too agreed that I'd been scammed and reversed the transaction. Money I spent bringing it home and work and repairs I did to it since bringing it home I even filled the tank with fuel. Chocking this experience up to my educational expenses. I await perhaps futilely for Sierra to contact me now and come get the car. If anyone here needs some gas I will gladly allow them to syphon some from the tank. I pan on filling my gas cans but there are twenty gallons of fuel I purchased 2 months ago in it.

Govdeals.com IS NOT GOVERNMENT SALES…

Govdeals.com IS NOT GOVERNMENT SALES ONLY. Scammers, towing companies, and dealers selling illegal vehicles - many that will not pass state inspection for emissions. AND GOVDEALS knows this. How you ask? I've reported a bunch of "dealers" to them and GOVDEALS does absolutely NOTHING. Take your money elsewhere, unless you can lose what you put in it.

Scummy Scammers

This is just the beginning of my plans to blow the whistle on these scumbags. It starts from the top down.
My first issue was buying a Chevy Suburban from a city in TN.
The advertised vehicle had many pictures etc. The vehicle I received looked like it was parked in a swamp vs what they advertised.
The pictures of the vehicle were taken YEARS ago which means it was an intentional scam.
I've been in the automotive business for 30 years and have never seen anything like it.
Of course, govdeals was on ZERO help after I sent them multiple photos of what I received for a vehicle.

The second issue is after buying a pickup truck in AZ, they sent me an invoice that included tax, AND a tax for their rip-off buyer premium - I've never paid TAX to govdeals for any of the vehicles I purchased in hte past.
I pay that at the DMV.
Not only are they trying to charge tax, it's the WRONG percentage of tax (too high)
So far I can't get past the punch dummy who takes their phone calls for the so-called "customer service"
Who reads a script for answers

Does anyone here think that the State of CT (my State) would get ONE DIME of that collected "tax money" I HIGHLY doubt it -
So this is a new thing they're trying to pull.
So between "buyer premium" (now taxes) and other fees you can add about 20% to your total purchase.
NOT HAPPENING

I'm going to take this -tax fraud- (in imo) a LONG WAY and with a very loud whistle

FYI Do NOT buy from a liquidity service on Gov Deals . I have bought from orig county and state auctions with absolutely no problem. Latest auction unknowingly from a liquidity service and getting the big FU with waiting a month supposedly for titles on vehicles. Paperwork not in hand for sales . They take the money and then its tough sh*t wait for weeks . DO NOT USE A LIQUIDATOR on the auction page .

Bid on a vehicle states "4 tires,all hold air" except they forgot to say ones in accident and tucked under floor. So I refuse,they whip out,default/blocked. To restate pay bid,but,you don't get nothing,just the satisfaction of paying someone's lunch. Careful bidding on this site. But the reviews prove it.

Super disappointed with this company

Super disappointed with this company. My first purchase nice and easy. Won my bid, paid for shipping and got items.

My 2nd purchase. Terrible! Seller puts willing to ship in the description. I won the bid. I reach out to the seller, call and email to find out how I pay for shipping. No reply. I call customer service they reach out and hear nothing. I email the seller again nothing and copied their customer service.

Their customer service is very nice I will add. I call customer service again, after a period of time they tell me the customer does not like to ship… I live in CA they are out of another state. Had I known that I would not have bid, pretty simple! The customer service said what would I like to do? I said just cancel it. I’m not going to drive there and it’s not worth it it’s 200 in coins….

Now how am I in the wrong? I did my due diligence. Seller does not like to ship. They want me to pay an $85 cancelation fee…. Because now he is ok shipping it!!!

He should pay me for all the time I wasted on this crap! They say my account will be suspended until I pay. Why would I ever buy anything from them again they don’t protect the buyers! I guess the seller important one.

My caution to anyone is:
1, Don’t bid on something out of your area, as you may get stuck paying fees and have weeks of frustration. When you try to do everything correctly.

2. Any contact with customer service either record or follow up in writing so you have proof of your conversations.

How about buyers get compensated when sellers fail to communicate! Maybe they would reply quicker and avoid this type of frustration!!
