Such a shame how one person can ruin an experience
I can’t fault the products sold by grangewood. This is now my second order and I’ve been impressed on both occasions. And the vast majority of staff are great too. But it’s such a shame how one person’s attitude can change your opinion.
One of the guys at the Coleshill branch needs a lesson in customer service. Unbeknown to me, I turned up ten minutes before closing on a Saturday. Two members of staff were great - they even gathered my order and helped me load my car. But the guy in the office was awful. Couldn’t have made it any clearer that I was an inconvenience to him. Not a word of thanks for my custom and for some reason I ended up apologising to him. I wouldn’t mind but I had purchased and loaded my order and left the store before it was due to close at 12. A friendly “mate just so you know, we close in ten minutes” would have been enough to speed me along. Instead he thought it was more appropriate to roll his eyes and huff.
Given everything currently going on in the world right now this guy might want to be a little more grateful for having a job and customers willing to pay for goods. There’s plenty of people worse off right now.
Bottom line: you’ll get good stuff from grangewood but if this guys around and it’s nearing the end of his shift, don’t expect a friendly customer experience.
Great service
This is my second order and I managed to order the wrong items. I called to explain it was my fault and the items were replaced the very next day. Very pleased. I can't fault the service from Burton/ Swadlincote. Thank you.
Appauling
No call to advise of delivery... came back from work to find my delivery dumped on my drive... my fence panels were saturated as it had rained heavily all day.... two of the panels were damaged... contacted Grangewood. .. not at all interested. ..

Much-maligned here, perhaps unfairly
A much-maligned business on here - perhaps unfairly, in my experience.
Ordered a pile of stuff ten days ago: all arrived earlier this week after a 'phone call from them to check whether we'd accept a substitution based on colour (we were).
From the lady I spoke to initially - and quizzed based on these reviews - to the two blokes in the Leamington depot I spoke to later about the colour and delivery, all was good.
I know they had some difficulty as the Covid-19 lockdown hit, but the same can be said for very many other businesses. It's how they deal with the problems that matters.
Good prices as well, so I've nothing to complain about.

The best service I have had in years. Needed a difficult to source panel. The staff at Derby rang round to get for me. Came really quick and the cheapest price too.👍😀

Order#51530 ordered11 decking boards to finish a job. Advised delivery would be within 21 days. Have used this company once before and received poor service, but decided to give them a 2nd chance. More fool me. They have taken my money for goods they have now told me they cannot supply and won't answer the phones,when they do answer they are extremely cagey with info. When I asked for a refund I was advised to call their accountant. The call went unanswered despite numerous attempts. I called the centre again and got the mobile number of the General Manager. I asked him why they took my money for goods they could not supply having had ample opportunity to inform me and he avoided the question by offering me a same day delivery out of stock he had coming in from another customer. The promise has still to be fulfilled. I do not recommend using this company. They have no issues taking your money and not providing what you have paid for, but they have a big issue explaining why.

I have now opened up a refund request through my credit card company under section 75 of the consumer credit act then buy the fencing from Wickes where there appears to be plenty in stock
Happy days received refund from credit card now ordered from Wickes delivery next Wednesday

We placed an order during lockdown and after reading some reviews feared the worst. However we were pleasantly surprised. Delivery was timely although there was no communication of when it was coming except a phonecall about an hour before. The quality of the wood wasn't the greatest but the unusable ones were replaced straight away. If the quality of product was consistent I probably would have given 5 stars, but I also felt begrudged being charged a £20 local delivery when we spent nearly £300.
Very good service
Very good service, 2nd time I have purchased goods from Grangewood Fencing. Despite being advised of up to a 21 day delivery schedule due to Covid, I received my goods the very next day after ordering, delivered by one of the most pleasant and helpful of couriers.
The only area that could be improved on is communication.

Do not purchase from this company, they are still taking orders for goods they cannot supply whilst immediately removing funds from account. The phones and email don’t appear to be staffed. Struggling to get refund due to zero ability to make contact.

Before any purchase I do take into consideration customer reviews, being careful to dismiss petty and irrelevant issues whilst balancing negative points with the sellers virtues.
Over the past eighteen months we have spent probably in the region of around £2000 on their very good quality fencing products of which we cannot fault, along with the staff at Tamworth depot who have always been extremely helpful.
Unfortunately, our grievance is with head office and their appalling customer service over the past few months.
An order placed on March 30th for a number of fencing items required a number of telephone calls and messages via their internal message system before we finally received a delivery on 18th April. However, following their Cov-Id guidance we were requested to remain indoors which didn't enable us to check the items until the driver had left......wrong fence panel and one edge strip short.
I immediately sent their office an email with the details. I have subsequently sent an additional email, a message via their internal system and three telephone calls and we are now at 13th June which not a single return call or email.
We appreciate the current retail lock down constraints are causing delivery delays with staff shortages but does that also need to extend to general courtesy ?. We have been pretty busy too, my wife works for the NHS and I have been virtually full time on construction during the period.
Hopefully we will be able to exchange this item, I am even prepared to return the panel to the local depot at my own expense despite paying for a delivery service which fell short.

Disgraceful business , up to 21 days for delivery passed they have switched phones of don’t reply to emails , I drove to the Tamworth depot the man in the office couldn’t even find my order paperwork asked what the order was and he said the don’t have in stock and don’t know when, promised to find paperwork and call me, nothing, he openly admitted they have very little stock but the greedy owner just wants peoples cash I’d avoid this company like the plague I shall never order again from these despite having used them for many years

Website says delivery within 21 days, which, given the current climate I thought maybe a bit excessive but fair enough.

Ordered a fence over 3 weeks ago and paid. No communications. Looked on Facebook and it seems that many, many other people in the same position. Why not afford the courtesy of an email to tell people the items wont be coming or will be drastically late. I am now thinking they have run off with people money as there is no communication. I will be raising a complaint through my paypal account to get reimbursed.

Totally understand we are in demanding times but I have had better service from companies miles away from me as I have from a business that is on my doorstep and has had my money and I have had no communication from them regarding this. Very poor have requested a refund and will not use again.

No communication, no goods!
Dreadful. No communication at all and judging by the comments on Facebook I’m certainly not the only one. Difficult times at the moment, but seem to be able to take orders and payment, but not communicate or deliver. Won’t answer calls or respond to emails. When I placed my order it said allow “up to” 10 days for delivery. It’s now 18 and still no sign of it.
Zero response, zero customer service. Plain rudeness
Order # 39579. Ordered on 3/4/20. Was told on Wednesday morning that delivery would definitely be this week. No delivery. Now refuses to answer their given mobile phone or respond to simple text messages. Just plain rude and zero contact with zero customer service. Not difficult is it to respond to customers to update them, obviously is for these clowns.
