Hard work getting on and off of the trains with luggage. The hotel was not well situated, at the top of the hill. Food was very basic and no vegetables at all. This holiday was graded as a 2 which meant you had to be able to walk on various terrains for between 30-45 minutes but unfortunately some of the tours were much longer than that! Very disappointing all in all.
This holiday was simply perfect. From leaving St Pancras by train via interesting Turin to arriving in beautiful Desenzano. The excursions were well organised and very interesting. The days in between allowed us to explore other places by bus (in our case) The tour guide was friendly and professional and went above and beyond to help us. The food in Hotel Desenzano was lovely and the group were like old friends by the end of the week. We did not want to come home. Would definitely go again
Unexciting tour with too many free days!
Nice trips but basic accommodation and journey home was long winded
This was my first trip with Great Rail Journeys and I thoroughly enjoyed my holiday. I was kept well informed from the moment I booked and given all the information I needed before travelling. Throughout the holiday, our dedicated tour guide inspired me with confidence, especially as I was travelling on my own. Everything was well organised and the hotels we stayed in were comfortable and of a good standard. I would travel with GRJ again and highly recommend their efficiency and customer care.

A wonderful trip! Beautiful scenery, excellent accommodation. Our tour manager was friendly, confident and helpful at all times.
It was a well organised trip and everything was fat just the right pace. We visited some beautiful places and I will definitely be doing another trip in the future .

What a great trip from start to finish - GRJ had organised everything so well. We loved the Italian people, the mix of trips and free time, and the great group of people (now friends) on the trip. Loved it.
The hotel, Food, Travel, our group and most of all our leader were all perfect. My best holiday ever.

Excellent ad usual, great guide, great people, hotel n food so good. Tours great, learnt a lot about History of places that had been to before n new places. Great location in Desenzano, and organised to a T.
